"Will they keep this/cancel that" We are now Live from WDW, the Nicki & Todd show!

I don't know why she just doesn't take you and me with them. It would make it so much simpler...then we wouldn't tie up her thread and others could read it. :rotfl2:

You know all us girlies need to get together and do a WDW weekend SANS HUBBIES!

Nicki, just a friendly reminder that you aren't cancelling Tony's this trip. :teeth:

HAHAHAHAHA! :rotfl: I will do my very very bestest not to cancel...DH is really looking forward to it!

Ya think we're excited Nick?:dance3: :woohoo: :yay:  :cool1:

Woo Hoo we are here!

Poor thing, we all told her to have a drink for us, she's probably looped.

Yes I am totally chilled out, those little Sunken Treasures are just sooooo good!

She's never gonna live this down.......:drinking1

 :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:
Hey MickeyNikki,

So glad to read another live dining report. Have 2 requests: If you think of it, would love to see current pictures of menus and would also like to know your thoughts on Chef Mickey's breakfast vs. Crystal Palace breakfast.

Have a great trip! Thank you in advance! Drink a Lapu Lapu for us!

WE ARE HERE!!!!!!! Reviews are coming right up...buckle up people!

Good evening all and thanks for sticking around! Well Todd did it to me again, we left Naples late, around 4 and made it to the Poly at 7pm tonight..not too much traffic so we made great time! Valet the car, check the bags, check in and we are in the Samoa building 2nd floor volcano side...more on that later. Pretty cool here tonight, 40!

The Poly was very quiet tonight, we headed right over to Capt Cooks for dinner, we were starving! Had to get the new mugs, they have red, black and yellow, one style and the same picture on all of them. We both had ice tea, nice and freshly brewed...very good.

Here is a pic of the soda that is offered, sorry if it is fuzzy but my hands were freezing!

Todd and I both had the chicken lo mein, they also have veggie lo mein. Very large portions cooked to order, loaded with super tender white meat chicken, red peppers (way too many of those) carrots, sugar snap peas, onions, celery and lo mein noodles in a very savory sauce topped with a few crunchy noodles. The veggies are cooked perfect with a nice crunch to them and the noodles are a touch past al dente. DH devoured his but I could not finish mine so he dug in. Very very good!

We also shared an order of the Poly chips...these are incredible. Fresh potato slices, sweet potato slices that melt on your tongue and larger pieces of the wonton chips..great deal for $1.29!

Jan25010-1.jpg

DH wanted an oatmeal cookie, it was soft and big and he loved it but it was waaaaayyy too sicky sweet for me and loaded with huge raisins, the outer edge was a bit crisper and I liked that part better than the soft middle.

Next up: TAMBU LOUNGE BABY!

Glad you made it safe and sound,if not a little late :rolleyes1

Next up: TAMBU LOUNGE BABY!

Now we're talking :yay:

Just as we were finishing dinner Wishes music started pouring into Capt Cooks...it was awesome! We could see a bit of the fireworks from the dining area and the music piped into the restaurant was an unexpected surprise!

After the music ended we mosied up to the Tambu Lounge, it wasnt that busy and we grabbed 2 chairs by the windows, they had American Idol playing on the big tv. Ohana was still seating people but I hear the host telling people no walk ups.

FYI the menu to the Tambu lounge has changed, they have Ohana wings now instead of Kona wings so DH skipped them. Here is the menu, sorry about the flash but the camera is giving me grief.

I had the Sunken Treasure, it is not on the menu anymore but they will make it for you....ok so I had two...I really needed it because ya'll wanted me to drink for ya and all so its your fault :lmao: The first one was very very sweet but the second one was so much better, nice and cold and fruity with a coconut taste..loved it!

Jan25020-1.jpg

DH had this little wonderful concoction...it was very light and sweet tasting but not too sweet...almost like no booze in it at all which is my kind of drink...he had two as well...I dont know what it is but the first ones disappear so darn fast...maybe there is more ice in the first ones so it forces you to order a second one :rotfl: I took a pic of the description for you guys incase I lost a few brain cells and forgot what it was :rotfl2: Me thinks DH has a bigger glass than the one in the picture!

I keep on meaning to try Captain Cook's, but never get around to it. When I was there last month the bartender made an Island Sunset for me, and that was no longer on the menu either. I'm glad you and I were both still able to get what we wanted despite the menu changes. The Sunken Treasure is one I still have to try.

After our drinks we decided it was time to check into our room so we could watch Lost. Samoa room 2604 overlooking the volcano pool. The minute I opened the door I thought I was gonna die...the smell of sour wet dog or something hit us....it was disgusting. I opened the window to let the air in and DH was on the phone asking to be moved. Within minutes the front desk guy that checked us in had keys to a room across the hall...he took one step in the room and said "It stinks in here, I cannot believe Mousekeeping released this room!" He moved us across the hall, not the best view but it is sooo clean and smells very good so we are happy. (Secretly I was hoping he was going to come back with Hey lets upgrade you to CL in the Hawaii building with a MK view but Todd says I should know that we dont have that kind of luck :confused3 )

Todd is snoring away, I am typing away and hoping we make it to our breakfast at the Grand Floridian Cafe tomorrow. Lunch is at the Sci Fi for boozy milkshakes :rotfl: and dinner is at the Wave...I am so excited about trying all these places, alot of food but I have them spaced out very far apart...I think we will be back from HS around 3 so I hope to update then.

Any questions fire away!

PS, I am really missing the nieces right now....it seems like just the other day we were here with them!...but I am enjoying the adult time and food and booze! ;)

I'm not going to bed til we hear from you, FYI...

OK so right as I posted, you posted. LOL!

We are on the same page! :thumbsup2

Step away from the bar :drinking1 and pick up the laptop :surfweb:

I plan on bringing drinks back to the room tomorrow night so I can drink and type!

This is going to be gooood!

So far so good ;)

I like the new mugs. And those chips look delicioius.

Yeah the mugs are really cute, our old ones are all faded out. The chips are awesome, might have to get them again!

Glad you made it safe and sound,if not a little late :rolleyes1

Thank you! You know I was texting DH like a mad woman, I swear he stays later at work just so he can watch my hair turn gray before his eyes...he does this every single time!

THANK YOU for mentioning the Island Sunset...I was racking my brain trying to think of the name...I am going to ask them to make me one tomorrow night. If you can fit it into your next trip give CC a whirl, it is very good...I wish I had the time to try the grown up grilled cheese, it sounds really good.

I had the grown up grilled cheese when I went with the parents last year and it was awesome! The bread they serve it on was delish! Can't wait to hear more - have so much fun tomorrow!!

ohhh I am ready and waiting for those adult milkshakes :drinking1

Well, that explains it for me! LOL! I waited up until 1am (MY time, remember we are 6 hours ahead of you!) and got up early this morning, so I could catch up with you!

Glad you are enjoying your new room! Those noodles and chips look yummy - we NEED to make it to Capt. Cooks some time soon!
Loved the photo of the sunken treasure - I will have to try that one day - we always get the backscratchers, :thumbsup2

I can't wait for your review of the GFC and Sci Fi - if you return from HS at around 3 I will be able to still read them tonight! I am keeping my fingers crossed for it, but no pressure, Nicki!!

Have a magical and fun time!:wizard:

I'm glad to hear you made it there safely, obviously no scary story to tell, well, except the wet dog smell. :crazy2:

That drink you had, that was pretty, sounds good, I love coconut. :lovestruc
Can't wait to hear about your breakfast, enjoy it, come back and share it with us. :rotfl:
