Reservation question

I'm new to this whole experience and I have a question about booking rooms with MS. We have some DP points that we're trying to use before expiration - thus we want to use as many points as possible. With that in mind, if I wanted a reservation that starts off in a studio for one night and then have the remaining days of the reservation be booked in a 1-bedroom would MS be able to book this as one reservation? Meaning if I call 7 months out from the first day - the night that will be spent it the studio, can they book our entire reservation at that time and just have us switch to a one-bedroom accommodation on the second day of our trip? I'm sorry if this has been asked before or if I picked the wrong DVC area to ask it. TIA

No I am pretty sure that's two reservations. So you call on day one to book the studio and then have to call back the next day to book the 1 bedroom for the rest of your stay.

Your stay would require 2 different reservations and 2 separate phone calls. You would book the studio on the first call and the 1-bedroom the next day. You will have to check out and check back in.

Thank you for the answer. I was afraid that was the case. Oh well guess I'll be making a few calls in secret this weekend.

A related question: If I want to book using my developer points and my regular points combined, can I do that in one call? Do they allocate the DP's to particular nights? I am hoping to replace my regular points with more DP's if they are still offering them when I can buy VGC in March. I know it will be a hassle with DP reservations being done outside the regular computer system, but will it be possible?

Last year I was able to use DP and regular points combined in one reservation. As we know, DVC changes its policy occasionally, so I don't know if this is still possible. I would call MS for the answer. Also, it has been known if you don't recieve the answer you want from MS, if you call back several times, you may get the answer you want. If i recall, current DP can only be used at SSR.
As far as your second question, I have been able to swap DP for a booked reservation without having to cancel and rebook. I have read on these boards some people were told that was not possible. Again, my above statement about callind MS applies here too.

Excellent! It's always great to know that someone has done it -- then I KNOW it's possible.

Thanks.

You could do it in one phone call if you called on the day you were planning to check into your 1BR unit to book the second day of your trip.

I believe it is stated on DP agreement that you can combine with your DPs with your ownership interest in other DVC properties (BLT after it opens- Aug 4th), so this isn't a descretionary policy subject to change.
