Much difference between Jambo & Kidani?

So I tried to book 9 nights in October at Kidani village (our home resort) howerver, only 6 nights were available in the savannah view studio so we booked 3 nights in Jambo, 6 in Kidani. I'm wondering if it's worth the hassle to check in at Jambo, check out, move our stuff, check in at Kidani. Or should we just book all nine nights at Jambo?

For a studio, I would book all 9 nights at Jambo and waitlist for Kidani.

If it were a 1 bed or larger, I would definitely want Kidani because of the extra bath and separate tub/shower.

I would book the 6 nights at Kidani, and 3 at Jambo and waitlist for Kidani the other 3 nights. My only rationale is that Kidani is new and it would be great to stay there. But that 's just me...

You may be deeded to Kidani but AKV, Jambo and Kidani is really your home resort.

I would keep the split stay so you can try both out to decide which you prefer for future visits. A split stay is also a great way to enjoy the DDP without being forced to over eat for the entire vacation.

How much do you hate moving (I personally would never stay at two places in one trip because I despise the event of moving from one place to another). Jambo is just fine. Its studio is about the same size as a Kidani studio. Jambo has the advantage of having the most restaurants -- Boma (buffet), Jiko (table service), and Mara (cafeteria style quick items). Kidani will have one table service restaurant. Kidani's advantage is it's new, and will have the recreational area besides just the pool, and it will have the larger 1BRs (and thus 2BRs). Savanna view will be good from either.

We are taking my parents to AKV next April for spring break. We were planning on doing a 2BR standard at Kidani, but thanks to the point reallocation, we fell 25 points short. So, I did some creative rearranging and now we are doing the first 2 nights in 2 standard studios and the last 3 nights in a standard 2BR. This is actually better for us. We are doing the studio nights at Jambo and we're adding the DxDDP for those nights only. That way, we'll be able to take mom and dad to some nice restaurants and they won't experience "sticker shock"! Plus, we'll have the mugs for the rest of the week. Then, we'll move to a 2BR at Kidani where we can enjoy the full kitchen and extra bathroom. We won't do a DP for that part of the stay since we will have the kitchen and we'll probably still be full!:rotfl: We're driving down so we will have a vehicle which will make the move fairly easy.

Even though we have a trip coming up this June, I am more excited about the spring break trip next year!

Something to think about.... I made a reservation last week hoping for kidani village and only able to get jambo house and was told we could not use the pool at kidani village if we were staying in jambo house. Hoping the cm was wrong, but it might be something to consider.

I asked this question on the boards months ago and got this answer from JaxFLBear:
This is published on the member website and the public DVC information website:
Quote:
Will Disney Vacation Club Members staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas be able to enjoy the amenities at both locations?
Yes, Members and their Guests staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas will be able to enjoy the amenities of both Jambo House and Kidani Village, regardless of in which building they are staying.

Here's the thread

And I've seen the same answer in threads from this past month.

As noted DVC members will be able to use facilities at both resorts, including pool, regardless of which building they are staying in. The real issue will be how many will want to make the walk from one building to the pool at the other, which can range anywhere from 1/2mile to over 3/4 mile, depending on where your room is.

Can DVC members valet park at either or both buildings? Since we'll have a car, we'd drive between the two if needed. Just curious....

I was told by the ala carte dining cm's (the new reservation system for dining reservations) that there was to be bus service between the two resorts. If you want to go from kidani to jambo hop on any of the park destination buses. If you want to go from jambo to kidani hop on a DTD bus.
I only bring this up because for our May trip we are staying at kidani village and have a reservation at boma. The cm told me this bus service information without me even asking. I then asked another cm about it the next day when I called to make additional reservations and she confirmed it.
I have no "proof" this is correct, so no flames please. Just wanted to pass on what I've been told on more than one occasion.

As to question above: yes, both buildings will have valet parking. As to busses, as noted all except Downtown Disney will travel Kidani to Jambo to wherever they are going so it will be possible to use them going in that direction. Going Jambo to Kidani via DD bus is a little problematic since the DD bus doesn't start running until later in the morning.

Note, walking from one resort to facilities at another will be somewhat long but I look at as if you are going to the pool with small children and carrying a lot of stuff, you might consider the bus hop, otherwise, walk. 3/4 of a mile is about the distance to walk 60% around the World Showcase and considering the time you spend going to the bus station, waiting for a bus, getting your car at valet, etc, you can walk it much faster . If you go to a park all day, you will be walking total 8 times that amount. I personally would not do it just to go to a pool (I mean all I need at a pool is shade and a bar) but don't see an issue doing it for a dinner reservation.

The "lastest info" indicates there WILL be ways to hop busses between the two. From Jambo, hop a bus to Downtown Disney and it will go to Kidani first. At Kidani, hop a theme park bus (any one) and the next stop will be Jambo.

Sorta cuts down on the "hurt" of hoofing it (no pun intended) between buildings.

America....

The land where 3/4 of a mile walk equals :scared1:

Yes there are folks who have REAL mobility problems, but most posters on here upset about that walk should have NO issue with it!

We need a bus for half a mile? How do we walk around the World Showcase at Epcot? (It's a mile for those of you wondering)

I just cancelled Oct 7th-Oct13th staying at in AK Kidani savannah view. We decided to move to BLT. If it is the same dates maybe you can grab the one i just released

Provided the weather is OK (meaning no torrential downpour..heat or cold don't get to me), I'm actually looking forward to the walk. It's a nice constitutional, and something that (even though it's relatively short) AKV doesn't really offer ANY ability to do now.

Hey, I figure that 3/4 mile walk helps justify all the zebra domes I want to eat!
