I had some of the Pure White Linen and I like it, but not as much as some other scents. DH bought it for me for Christmas last year, even though I had asked for Beautiful Silver. He couldn't remember what I asked for.

I tried the Potion No. 9, even got it at a great sale, but didn't feel like it really did anything special for me.

Any response on eyeshadow primer? That's the one thing I really need to find.

Yay, more makeup junkies!!! I spend way too much money. I can't walk past the MAC store without buying at least one thing I really don't need but have to have!!! (Like one of the Dame Edna palettes last week...)

Someone asked about eyeshadow primer? I use MAC Paints in Bare Canvas. It's the only one I've found that doesn't crease or wear off, and keeps my shadow in place and vibrant. And I do theater so my makeup works HARD ;) If it can make it through two acts of me sweating, I know it's good!

Don't know anything about the eyeshadow primer, I will wait and see the response from others. That is probably another thing I need to be using.

Deep Dark Confession Time:

I have never been to Sephora.

I want to go, but I am always on a tight budget and I look in there when I go past and think "it's probably $45 for one eyeshadow". So I keep on walking. Also, having never been in there, I don't even know where to start? Help me go to Sephora people! Tell me it isn't really that expensive!

I have found almost all Estee scents to be too strong for me. I can like taste them. But, I like florals and light fruity scents so Estee might work for you.

We have the same scent tastes!!!

While you are checking that, it also contains Pleasures, Beautiful, and Beyond Paradise. Are any of those less floral? My problem is, you will probably be thinking, why don't I just smell them? They all smell fine to me, the sneezing starts 30 minutes to an hour after I put them on. So I don't know until I try and lately I would just rather not end up having a sneezy day.

I dont have to check those... I know those:

Pleasures - Floral. I have a soft spot in my heart for it though... Ive always liked it.

Beautiful - wicked floral. Flora-o-Rama! And strong!

Beyond Paradise - Watery Floral. This one MIGHT be okay depending on how much floral you can handle. It still has that watery undertone.

Any response on eyeshadow primer? That's the one thing I really need to find.

I personally love Too Faced. Lots and lots of people love Urban Decay and if youre crunched for money - I like Loreal's decrease. :)

I don't know if I can keep up with thread but I'll try. :)

I'm a mascaraholic. I am always on the hunt for the best one. I received 2 sample size Chanel inimitable tubes today in the mail to try. It got great reviews.

I also bought some make up that gets amazing reviews at the BeeLuscious website. I don't know if anyone's heard of them but they really get lots of great reviews. Their foundation and silk radiance powder and HD mascara to name a few.

Anyway, their webiste is: http://www.beeroyalproducts.com/store/home.php

They are having a big sale. 25% off of everything AND there's another 15% off code that came in my newsletter. So that's 40% off!!!! :cool1:

Let me know if anyone here's heard of them.

My favorite drugstore mascara right now is Loreal double extention mascara.

My Lancome Fatale smudges. :(

I do like Kiss Me. That also extends your lashes like the Loreal one does but it does it in one step.

My Dior Show Black Out (waterproof) clumps so I cannot layer it.

I'm also getting into glittery/sparkley eye shadow but only for special occassions. I bought what I have at Sephora. It's Uban Decay. I bought a brownish one and a purple one. I love them!!!

Can't wait to read about other's favorite make up!

Alright - youre going to need to leave this thread immediately and not return until youve been to one!! :lmao:

Check out their website. Not everything is super expensive. Too Faced is a rather reasonable (and fantastic) brand. It just depends on the brands.

Ok, I'm on their website now. I'm looking...... some stuff is expensive, some not so bad.......still looking......I could be a lip gloss junkie for sure so I'm starting with that.

Tell me it isn't really that expensive!

It isn't really that expensive.

:goodvibes

Really, though, there is a wide range of prices in there. You can go crazy, or not. I tend to go crazy. I belong to their Club. That is BAD. They send me enticing emails.

!

Kiss Me is like a bad version of Too Faced's tubing mascara. Too faced is also a one stepper. Have you tried it?

oooh! Can I join in, too? I love make-up and I spend way too much money on it. I love Sephora---I buy in the store, but also online. I love the free samples and special deals they have. It's just so hard to make up my mind with such a huge selection, so I do have quite a variety.
As for perfume, I have several florals, but others, too. Not sure what catagory they are in. I like all the Burberry scents. I just got a sample of the Burberry Beat and I really like it. I have way too many brown eye shadows. I used to wear a variety of colors, but I usually wear some shade of brown on most days---I have blue eyes. I can't live without my eyelash curler. I am looking for a good lipstick that stays on for a long time.

See this is why a thread like this is awesome. :)

I have a Too Faced sample but it's not tubing. I wasn't impressed with it because the brush is so big!

Now I have another one to buy and try, thank you very much! ;)

Speaking of mascara--I am a big fan of Benefit BadGal Lash (I posted this elsewhere). It's not waterproof, but it still stays on well, and it's like wearing fake lashes.

For waterproof, I used to use the Boots kind that Target sold because it gave almost as much volume, but I went this afternoon for more and they don't HAVE it!!!!

Anyone know of a good waterproof mascara that is massively-volumizing with a big brush? I am lost without my Boots!

Are you sure it isnt it?? Cuz their brush is enourmous.

Lash Injection, I think?

get Lash Injection. It's waterproof, big time. I cant say enough about this mascara. It takes some getting used to - but then youll love it.

Stays on - so smears or anything - all day at the waterparks (yes, I wear that and lipgloss)

Oh, and just to be clear on how much I love makeup: I DO wear it ALL at Disney World or any other vacation I go on.

Oh my goodness. That IS what I have!

I didn't even realize it was the tubing kind like Kiss Me.

I guess I didn't give it enough of a chance. I'll definitely try it again. Thanks! :goodvibes

LadyGracey, I absolutely love the BOOTS line at Target. They have the No7 Restore & Renew Beauty Serum, which is a fab night time creme. :thumbsup2

CathrynRose, are you saying this is a GREAT mascara as I need a good one. I am currently using Maybelline's Define-A-Lash!! What are your thoughts on that particular one..ya or nay???

The make-up I have been using is Balance N'Brighten by LAURA GELLER!!

http://www.laurageller.com/home.cfm/pid/zoom/thsId/79/item/Balance n Brighten Kit.html

Oh and I want to mention a new creme I recently bought....yup at Whole Foods... KISS MY FACE "Foot Creme" peppermint. It is amazing. I lather that on every night before bed and a clean pair of white socks.....ohhhh.....so lovely.

http://www.kissmyfacewebstore.com/detail/KMF+2000404 A tad bit pricey.. $8.99 for 4oz but so worth it!!!!!

:cheer2: I LOVE THIS THREAD!!!!!!!!! Thanks for starting this, CathrynRose and thanks to everyone for sharing!!!!!!!!!!! :cheer2:

This thread couldn't have come at a better time! I spent 30 minutes online yesterday looking at all the Clinique foundations before I went to the mall again. (still haven't been) I LOVE makeup, but all of a sudden what used to work for me is not any more. My skin is oilier now than it ever has been and I'm 41! Anybody know the best oil control foundation? Or mattifying lotion?
I started all over in Oct. with all Clinique products, from the 3-step cleansing to all the makeup. I used to sell Avon and still really like some of their makeup and a lot of their skin care.

shirleyb, here's another recommendation of eyeshadow primer--I really like the one by BeautiControl. You can get it in a beige and a rose tone.

The only perfume I wear is Obsession by Calvin Klein. The older I get, the more my allergies seem to bother me, but this is one scent I've loved for 20 years! I wear VS body lotion in Vanilla Lace or My Desire, too.
