Inspired by the ironic notion that there's no PotD thread here.
There are a few different PotD threads here on Dis.....

Should we... start a Photo Board Picture of the Day thread. Where everyone posts 1 picture each day that does not have to be Disney Specific. (There are plenty of those threads in other parts of the boards)?

I mean after all, this is the Photography Board, we probably should have our own PotD thread.

I love seeing everyone's pictures.
Well now there is. Rules as above - post what you like, Disney or not.

This is an inclusive thread where all skill levels and camera types are welcome.

To enhance enjoyment and learning, please post EXIF data whenever possible.

I thought I'd start my contribution with a money shot.

EXIF: 1/125s, f/16, ISO 200, 100mm, evaluative metering, manual exposure, ETTL ring flash

Equipment: Canon 5D Mark II, Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro, Kenko extension tubes (12mm + 20mm + 36mm for a total extension of 68mm), Bower SFDRL14C ring flash, remote shutter release

Technique: I used a focusing rail on a ball head aimed straight down; I used live view and the 10x magnification to manually focus; after focusing, I turned off live view; I locked up the mirror; waited a few seconds; trigger the shutter with the remote.

WOW! That's an amazing shot of something so tiny!! I wish I had a macro lens. :sad1: I have a Tamron 75-300mm with micro switch on the side, but it can't focus on things like that up close. Again... GREAT SHOT!!! :thumbsup2

How about a photo that is not really based on a photo at all?

I'm a bad mommy. I like taking pictures of my DD instead of pushing the swing. She was NOT happy with me.
Taken last night.

D3, 24-70 f2.8 lens

While I've been contributing to the Canon thread for awhile, I will play here too.

Taken not with my Canon DSLR, but my old 4mp point and shoot:

How about some editing for my contribution today. A mother daughter shot from a cheer comp last year.

I don't have any of my own, so here is a shot of one of my favorite subjects this morning at the airport in Ocean City, NJ. Not necessarily the best shot, but that has got to be one of the cutest faces I've seen.

Went to the park today to try my hand at birds in flight. It is a lot harder than I had imagined.

i drove by this house yesterday and thought the porch would make a good photo but also knew the hub was hungry;) so i went back today. i'm actually glad i did take it today since the shadow of the tree fell across the porch.

iso 100 . f6.3 1/400 sec shutter 115 mm
canon xt with 28-135 is lens and cp (since i was driving and knew i wouldn't have time to put it on when i wanted it on) i might take out the lines in the snow but this is pretty much unfooled around with since i just got home and need to make dinner:)

Absolutely superb shots, everyone! I've got nothing to stand along side of those, but I was playing with my macro lens after the ice storm we had....For some reason, this reminded me of Jewelry (made by Mother Nature herself)
