So I have been lurking around these boards for awhile now and I am excited to announce that I will officially be a Disney bride on September 19, 2009! Our ceremony will take place at 5:00PM at Sea Breeze Point with the reception to follow at Ariel's.

A Little Background

My DF and I met two and a half years ago while I was an intern as his place of employment. We began to hang out as friends (As I was seeing someone else at the time). As we hung out more we realized how much we had in common; our parents grew up in the same area of upstate NY, our dads went to the same University, etc! I soon broke it off with the guy I was seeing and not two months later we were dating! I can honestly say it was a whirlwind romance!

We have been dating for two years and we still work at the same place where we met (I was hired after my internship). Fortunately, working in the hospitality industry keeps us so busy that we barely even see/interact at work so we get along amazingly and we could not be more excited for our Disney Wedding!!!

Here are some pictures of us from past Disney World & Disneyland Trips:

UP NEXT: Our Disney Engagement!

As a child, we went to Disney World numerous times on family vacations. My DF, Kevin had only went once when he was a young teenager and really didn't get the full "Disney Experience". In September of '07, Kevin and I went out to southern California to visit my dad who lives out there. My dad had some connections so we were able to spend a day at Disneyland and even go to lunch at Club 33! Kevin loved it so I knew in the near future I would definitely be planning a trip to Disney World!

Once we got back to Charlotte, I started looking up slow times at Disney World and we booked a 5-night, 6-day vacation in September '08! We had such an amazing time together! It was just after Kevin's birthday so I treated him to a couples massage at the Grand Floridian Spa. It was then that we saw the Wedding Pavilion and got the idea of having a Disney Wedding when the time came!

Fast Forward to December of this past year and we were back in California visiting my dad for the holidays. Of course we wouldnt be that close to Disneyland and not go! We had originally planned to go on the 10th but decided we were too tired so we waited to go on the 11th. At the time, I thought nothing of it but a lot of my close friends and family called me on the 10th just to see "how my trip was going?" Hm, weird. Anyway, we went to Disney and had the time of our lives, it looked so beautiful decorated for christmas! Plus, the lines weren't bad at all and we got to do all our favorite rides several times!

We decided to sit for a minute at the Corner Cafe and get a sweet snack. We found a pretty secluded table and listened to this guy play the piano. That was when Kevin said, "Oh, I have something for you!" So nonchalantly! He proceeded to get down on one knee and ask me to marry him! I couldn't believe it at first and he even had to ask me if I wanted to put the ring on after I said yes because I completely forgot to even look at it! Needless to say, it was one of the most amazing nights of my life and I could not be more in love!

I love seeing all the pics of disneyland, I have never been there (but really really really want to) so it's so nice to see it and hear about from other brides prospective :)

Just wanted to say :wave2: and :welcome:

Thanks everyone! I am so excited to get this thing started but somehow work always gets in the way! I loveeee reading everyone elses planning journals and you all are giving me some great ideas!

So I knew I wanted to send something out to my bridesmaids/maid of honor asking them to be in my wedding party. My mom is extremely creative so her and I started coming up with some ideas. One night we were randomly searching the web and I found the perfect invite!!! Now you should know that I can be a complete goofball and love to make people laugh! All of my friends are the same way so I knew they would totally get a kick out of this! So without further ado, the invite:

I found the picture online and cut and pasted my bridesmaid's faces in. The inside read, "Will you be my bridesmaid (or MOH), I promise not to make you wear an ugly dress!" So typical of me! It was a huge hit!

Anyway, my best friend and MOH came up this weekend to get some shopping done. We went to David's Bridal and wow it was so busy there! She tried on a bunch of different things but it looks like the best one we saw was a sweetheart cut, tea length dress. My colors are sky blue, chocolate brown, and we will be doing some accents of this gorgeous coral pink color! I liked the dress but wasn't sold on it. She is coming up again Valentine's day weekend and we are going to this HUGE bridal mart here in NC so I know we will find a winner there! Ah I am getting so excited!

haha so funny:lmao: ! Love the invites, good luck with the dresses, it can be a little stressful I know!

they are really good invites!! I'd never think of something like that!! Your colours i imagine will look really nice too.

Its so fun going our dress shopping isnt it? Like looking for all weddiny stuff!

So sorry I haven't been more consisent with my journal, work has been busy and I always work long hours so I never seem to get the chance to update! Anyway, this weekend my best friend and MOH came down to go dress shopping! My mom, MOH, and I headed out fairly early on Valentine's day and drove the hour and a half to this massive bridal store I had heard so much about here in NC. The store has over 3,000 bridal gowns and another 3,000 bridesmaid dresses and mother of the bride dresses! So needless to say the place is massive!

Now I hadn't tried on any dresses at all so when I walked in the place I was completely OVERWHELMED!!! I almost thought I was going to be sick haha! Anyway the place was fairly quiet for a weekend and the people that worked there were great! We got right to work and I only had tried on about 15 dresses when I found THE ONE. As soon as I put it on, I didn't want to take it off! It is a very simple (just my style) A-line Casablanca gown. It has a little bit of sparkle here and there and I love it! Here are some pictures!

This picture has the dress in two different colors, mine will be all ivory like the last two pictures.

The back has those tiny little buttons that go all the way down the dress! I am even more excited to get married now that I found the dress! I totally understand the whole emotion when you find the perfect one that everyone talks about!

Ohhh I love it! I think they have a Casablanca dress too, they are sooo flattering and elegent. YAY FOR GETTING THE DRESS:yay: :yay:

Yay! I am so excited! :) The Casblanca dress was just so light and easy to wear! I will definitely be happy with the choice when it is hot and sticky in September!

Very pretty! It does feel so much more real when you get the dress! Can't wait to read more!popcorn::

Doesn't it?! It can be so overwhelming but such a relief at the same time! I'm so excited!

So I originally wanted something different and simple when it came to my flowers but the more I have searched the more I have fallen in love with rose and stephanotis bouquets. I love when the bouquet is filled with roses then just has a few stephanotis perfectly placed within them. I really like the roses in different shades of pinks with white stephanotis. Here are a few pictures I have found that I loved.

The bouquet all the way on the right in the last picture is my favorite! My only concern is will these colors look good with my light blue and brown theme? The only picture I found that had my colors and bright pink flowers was this one of daisies.

Any thoughts? Do the colors mix? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

First off - those invites are hilarious!! I found this site a while back (some of the advertisements are a bit off, but the pictures are too funny!) http://uglydress.com/index.html :rotfl:

Now about those roses. I think they'll definitely go. You can pull your blue or chocolate in through the ribbon. You could always use pink as an accent color elsewhere in your wedding if you wanted to. Just my two cents! :goodvibes

BTW - Welcome to the boards and good luck with your plans!! :welcome:
