So I've been reading the boards left and right and down. :rotfl:

DBF and I are going in May and we have the regular dining plan.

Im trying to talk about ADRs with DBF but he just won't have it. The most I've gotten from him is "We need to eat at that place in Canada" :rolleyes2 Oh DBF.

We only have 5 TS to use. So I've come to this.

1. Le Cellier
2. 1900 Park Faire (oh the step sisters!! :rotfl:)
3. Luau (2TS) <---this is still a Maybe.
4. :confused3
5. :confused3

I'm planning on asking DBF how he feels about CM. Anyone have any good things I can tell him? I heard the dessert bar is awesome, but is the restaurant a good place for DBF (24) and I (19)? My first impression is its loud and noisy and full of children. I'm not saying thats a bad thing (it is Disney!:rotfl: ) but DBF is looking for this to be a relaxing, laid back, romantic trip.

I kinda want to go to CM's but I don't know much about it. Care to enlighten me?

Chef Mickey's IS loud and noisey, and a lot of fun.:goodvibes Every so often they play special music, the characters dance, and you need to twirl your napkin! I've been twice, once for breakfast and once for dinner. I actually prefered breakfast, but dinner was good too.

I don't think I've ever heard the words relaxed and laid-back attributed to Chef Mickey's.:scratchin But if you want a fun time a good food it is the place for you.:)

Btw make sure you get your Le Ceiller reservation as soon as your booking window opens up. That place fills up very fast!

If that's what your DBF is looking for then I'd skip CM. The food is good (not great IMHO) but it is filled with kids. Lots of kids. The dessert is the best part next to the characters. Skip dinner here and just wait in line to meet the characters if that's what you want.
Why not try Kona Cafe or Ohana?
If you want romantic and you want a 2 credit restaurant try Narcoossee's. I would do that over the Luau.
Spoodles is good to at the BW. Not too many kids there.
Maybe Tutto Italia if you're into Italian.

My favorite place in all of wdw is The California Grill. It's on the top floor of the Contemporary Resort, the food is AWESOME and the view is too! It does take 2 ts meals but it is worth it! Very romantic:) Its best to make a reservation there about an hour before Wishes so you will be seated. They have a special balcony you can go and watch it from, it's absoultely beautiful! :)

what about Crystal Palace? Were looking for another dinner option near the mk for our MK day, but it doesnt matter what meal its for, its CP good? Im some what interested in the 8:05 pre park idea, but dont know if i can get DBF out of bed that early:rotfl:

Generally I am in the minority here by saying I didn't care for CM, but.... I didn't. I thought it was overhyped and the food was so-so. We did breakfast there. We had a terrible seat in the corner out of the action, I did asked to be moved but it was so busy they really couldn't do anything. My kids thought it was so-so. They like character breakfasts we had done at Cape May and Crystal Palace much better.

There are so many wonderful places to eat dinner at WDW, if I were there alone with my guy it wouldn't be at CM. :goodvibes

We loved CP for breakfast, but we have a 2 yr old! :goodvibes I would like it anyway but the music and the napkin twirling might be a bit much for your DBF. We did think the food was very good here and there was a ton of it! Even made to order Mickey head chocolate chip pancakes!!!

In my opinion this resturant gives you a great feeling of Disney. Yes it's loud. Yes there are kids. It's also so much fun and the food is good. We love this place even without our boys. But now my boys are 25 to 16 they still love it.
And the desserts are a killer. Lot's of them :rotfl:

FYI, you might not get in to LeCellier for dinner, I think it's one of the most popular restaurants at WDW. You should call now.

You'll be fine. If you call in the morning of the first day available, you won't have a problem. Heck, we just decided to do a March 1st trip and called two days ago. We got a lunch at Le Cellier. I thought we'd be shut out for sure.

really? ive heard such good things about the strawberry soup and things? :confused3 were mainly going cuz the step sisters are there and that we dont want a huge dinner, so the buffet is 'all you care to eat'
