Hi everyone,
I too booked this as a surprise for my family. I made homemade Christmas crackers and wrote inside that everyone had won a trip to St Thomas, (we live in St Thomas, On) they all moaned, then I told them about the cruise. Hi Christine and Donna, nice to see some familar names. My older daughter's are coming with us on this trip, so I am very excitied! I have booked two rooms. Can you request rooms with two beds?
DD and Dh got very sick when we were on the ship in November, hopefully this time everyone will stay healthy.
Take care
Jenn

Jenn - Good to see another Canadian - I am from Markham Ontario.

Finally managed to snag enough credit card points to pay of the reservation.
We booked two guaranteed inside cabins. My wife and older daughter in one cabin and my younger daughter and myself in the other (snoring allowed) cabin. Im hoping to rack up more credit card points so we can hit up some of the shore excursions.

Bit about us: Deb 44, Larry 42, Jen 18 Jess 15. We live in Green Bay, WI and right now its 8 degrees below zero. This is our first out of Wisconsin family vacation ever so it should be interesting. :)

Welcome aboard - if you have questions - this is the place ot ask the as you have a mix of newbies and oldbies with lots of experience

Hi everyone!

Looks like we'll be joining you on this cruise, too! This will be our 3rd Disney Cruise; the last one was in October 2007. We were gonna do the Transatlantic in Sept. '10, but it didn't work out. So...here we are!

It'll be me (Julie), DH (Ron), DS12 (Ethan), and DS8 (Seth). We're from Tennessee, as I see some of you are, too!

We're doing a few days at WDW before the cruise, so we'll really be looking forward to those "sea" days to rest our legs after trekking through all the parks. :cool1:

Looking forward to getting to know you all!!

Julie

Welcome abourd - which cruise in oct 07- we were on the Western that left October 19th 2007 - we had a great time...

Welcome back Jessalynn! It wasn't the immediate clean up that really did me in - it was the needles I missed and stepped on in my bare feet months later that did it.

true enough - I just found a whole little branch behind the Wii system the other day - LOL - I am not the best house cleaner in the world.

Yes I am back - for some of you who remember way back - I was saying that the end of December was going to be hectic for me as I had to outsource my whole department (140 people). I was kept back to manage the transition for a few months and then supposedly I will be given a new job.

So the transition went well - very smooth. Didnt sleep much at the end of december between the holidays, family visiting and working through tons of issues (technology, process, pricing, facilities, governance etc) but overall it sent well. In fact - I am now bored - we expected all these problems that I would be busy dealing with but there arent that many.

So now I am enjoying working from home 1-2 days a week and being home every night for my kids. PURE HEAVEN. I have been getting caught up on all the personal stuff that I didnt have time to do before so hopefully there will be lots of chat time on the web.

Good to see so many new people on the boards

Question for the experienced Cruisers - as we all know cruises are dropping in price like crazy - can we call DCL and get them to drop our prices? Or negotiate some Onboard Credits?

Lets keep count on who gets the special Top Page Post.

Keeping track so far:

AverysMommy - 10
SillyLittlePixie - 3
iamdaisyduck - 2
Grumpymakesmehappy - 1
lanand3 - 1
minniemouse71 - 1

If prices drop below what you booked, I think you have to cancel your existing reservation and make a new one. If you got onboard credit or something like that for booking, you may loose that depending on where you got it. We booked this cruise in June, and it looks like the price has gone up, not down. We booked through DU and then when we were on the Magic in November, we checked on the price since we'd get 10% off plus a $200 shipboard credit, and it wasn't worth canceling the first reservation for those perks.

I did read a while back that if oil continues to be cheaper, that if we paid a fuel surcharge, we will get that amount back as an onboard credit.

Only 287 days to go. I'll be cruising with DH and DD. We are also cruising with our tablemates from our first cruise 5 years ago. We also have a reservation for my in-laws, but they aren't set on going yet.

Do you have a TA or did you book directly with DCL. In either case, watch periodically and see. I would think they would do an on board credit. We booked on DVC points so we would not see any reduction in points.

Well, my office did a reduction in hours - my pay is going to be cut in about half! It will be OK if it doesn't last too long (like 2 weeks). Guess it is a good thing that we did book on points and had miles for our airfare.

Have a great day everyone - stay warm.

Hello, All!:wave2:

I've been waiting and waiting to join this thread! I booked while on our first cruise in April '08. I've toyed around with the thought of pushing it to 2010 for months. But now, I am determined we will be on the Magic in November! Onboard will be me and my DD who will be 10 next month. We'll be on deck 6.

We're going to be on Deck 2. I'm a little worried about it though, because of things I've heard about it being noisy down there!

The first 2 cruises, we were on Deck 7. Maybe the upgrade fairy will strike? We can only hope! :goodvibes

Hi everybody,
Hope everyone is keeping warm. I was talking to our DCL agent and did receive a credit from the fuel surcharge being dropped. She did say that they could implement again.

Christine, I think we are going to do a post stay. I am very excited, little did we know but. we can receive 40% off the room rate. I am hoping to try and do the Christmas party. The only kink in our plans is DD who is 20 might not be able to come for the whole trip. I forget when the dates were released, does anyone know? I remember last year the November hours took so long to be posted.

Does everyone arrive the night before they sail? I am to nervous to arrive on the day we depart, so we will probably do one night pre stay. So many questions, does anyone know the dinig rotation? Or what you are doing on the islands? I have never been to either one so any suggestions would be great.
Take care,
Jenn

Jenn, how did you know you could get 40% off? Did you call Disney and see if you had a pin code, or did you get a postcard? I need to start figuring out a post stay too. We'll stay the night before too, we thought it would be fun to spend the day at Cocoa Beach.

Christine

We were on deck 2 on our second cruise and didn't notice any more noise than we've had on decks 5 and 7. I really liked how close we were to the gangway and the dining rooms. We only used the elevators to go to deck 9.

After moving our cruise date more times than I care to admit, we are finally settled on this cruise! It will be myself, DH, DD7, and DD3. This will be our 2nd Disney Cruise and our first time on the Magic.

Welcome! I just joined this thread also last week. This is also our second cruise and first time on the Magic. We did a Poly/Wonder Land and Sea last March. After that, I was hooked! I can't wait!:cool1:

Woohoo! Us too. :cool1: We're so excited! My friend, her DH and 4 kids, and inlaws have also booked this week to join us on their first Disney cruise! Guess I have a LOT of t-shirts to make!! :artist:

I just wanted to subscribe to this thread. My son and I will be on this cruise. It is our first cruise and my sons birthday. Let me know if this group is doing a fish extender exchange.
