I have learned my lesson the hard way with my last Dec. 08 trip... I was on wait list and never got on on any DVC property... As of today I booked my Dec. 13 to Dec. 18 trip at my home resort SSR Now all I need to do is wait and be ready...

Whacha gonna do first now?

most likely what I usually do on my previous trip... vegitate!!!! and when done vegitating go hit all the buffets... then finally do the rides

We'll be at VWL Dec. 12 -16. Glad you have your reservations all set!

The things we like to do during our December trip are:
Candlelight Processional usually twice if we can manage it, we don't have lots of days.
MVMCP
Osborne lights
Fantasmic
Wishes
Jingle Jungle parade at AK
Resort hop to see the decorations. Grand Floridian a Must do. Walk around the Boardwalk, go to DTD, just enjoy the holiday atmosphere. We wear our Santa/Mickey hats and everyone smiles.
Ride bikes from WL to FW to see the wonderful way the campers decorate their motor homes.
I must go swimming at least once...it's Florida and it should be warm!
The rides and ordinary attractions just aren't our focus. We've made going in December a tradition....every December since '02. That's the first year we knew that Disney had Christmas decorations...before that we were clueless!!!!

We booked BWV today for the 13-20th.
I called at 9:10 and recording said 20 minute wait. It was not that long and I got my first choice.
We are going in May, too--I'm loving DVC!!!!

yey!!! we are getting in the same time !!! but will be at SSR... would love to get a BWV but as happy as in SSR now... ohhh there's that little voice... saying I should try it in my 7th month window... I know.. I know... but this time my heart will not be broken since I already have SSR in the bag...

We are tentatively planning to go early Dec to OKW. We will not be able to determine exact dates until late March. OKW is our home resort. I know this is a busy season. We will need a two bedroom.

sounds like you have enough time... but for safety measures.. why not book your tentative dates...

Wow -- did you have to waitlist at the 7 month window? What size unit? I did book my short December trip last weekend for December 10-12 and managed the BWV-standard studio.

Well, we could bump into each other at F&G! I'll be there, March 21 to 29...AKV, BWV then AKV concierge. I'll bet we can work something out!!!

NYE week at BWV with DH was wonderful, and we'll definitely do it again...probably in '10. We alternate our December trips BWV, then VWL, BWV, etc. and I wouldn't want to have to deal with traffic on NYE, so we'll wait until that's our resort of choice for the trip.
There's one downside of a NYE trip, as opposed to before Christmas, and this is for us only, is that although decorations are still up, most guests are over celebrating Christmas. For that whole week, we probably saw only 20 guests wearing Santa or Mickey Santa ear hats, even though they were on sale! I would wear a previous year's Christmas WDW tee and people would comment how nice, but very very few people had something like that on. So, we definitely prefer pre-Christmas WDW trips. I was lucky, I went earlier in the month for 2 nights, and just felt it was more Christmas spirited then.

That's exactly what we thought. For our 1st NYE as a married couple, we went to Times Square NYC! This was our 40th NYE and we decided to try this. This was definitely better!!!! When the time comes, you will know, and it will be fun!

not yet... since all are tentative except for December... and if I put one for December the more I will be depressed... i am so ready to go back...

There must be some type of cure for this... Majority of us diser have been back one to many times "according to normal people... as what they say "... but why and how can one miss the Mouse's house that much... My mom really thinks I am since I have been for a few days now and have been saying I wanna go back I wanna go back... NOW
