Ok, I know alot of you go all out for your door decorations, which I would love to do also, but I'm a first timer and have limited time to pull something together...not to mention I'm creatively challenged at times! LOL...

Anyhow, looking for some pics and ideas for cute but simple door decorations for DD, DH, and me...I got some of that magnetic roll tape at Hobby Lobby the other day and if I could just come up with some cute stuff to hang, I'd be set.:p

Oh, btw, I do have quite a stash of the HD mouse ears...been "collecting" them awhile

Someone from our fish extender made mickey ears for our door to go above the main sign with room number (which is a circle). You could do this with black paper of any kind. It looked really cute.

We are leaving in a little over a week! And I've been doing decorations non stop!! Its so much fun! I'm not very smart with all these photoshop things or very creative, but one lady posted how to do it in microsoft paint, and it was so easy, after my first picture I made about 10 more within 30 minutes! Check out the main Door Magnet Posting, there are SOOO many cool ideas and you can just copy them and put your own wording on...Its way easier than I thought, I PROMISE!!!

Good luck and happy cruising!

Really, these are all you need to get you started. These folks are WONDERFUL and will personalize any of their designs for you. I have a TON of them saved to my computer! When I'm ready, I'll print them out on magnetic paper. So easy!!

Have fun!

I had plans of making magnets but time got away from me, we just bought 2 Stitch magnets and wrote our first names on his ears

We did receive a couple of magnets in our FE exchange and bought a couple while in ports which we added to our door as the week went by

Is this simple enough??? :rotfl: jk

Where do you get magnetic paper?

I didn't use magnetic paper for mine, too expensive for me :upsidedow I printed on card stock, laminated them on my little desktop laminator, then bought a magnet roll at Michaels for $3. One side is sticky, so you just cut the size you want and stick it on back. We have them all hanging on our fridge at the moment and the magnets are quite strong, i think it'll work quite well and much cheaper than magnetic paper :thumbsup2

I did this, too, except I used regular paper and laminated them at work. You could also take them to Office Depot/Max or Kinkos. The roll of magnets worked great. The only thing is if you brush up against them on your door, they sometimes get knocked off. (Maybe my strips are smaller than yours.)

People talk about the Mickey head paint chips you get from Home Depot. The ones they have now are pasted on a rectangular card. They are not only the head. And they are smaller than they used to be. Has anyone else come across this? People are still saying you can get the "old kind." I went to 2 different stores and they both have the same thing.

I was planning to make only one large magnet through VistaPrint.com. Their car magnets are free, you just pay shipping.

The rectangular card type is the only kind our HD has. I just cut out the Mickey head. They're not glued on very tight so it was easy to cut the paper away.

Once I cut them out, I taped them on a regular sheet of paper and printed our names on each one using Word and a downloaded Disney font. Don't ask me how I did it. I did read a door decorating thread that explained it step by step. I'm not very computer saavy at all but the directions were so easy.

I used the Avery magnetic paper from Amazon (don't have a laminator or have access to one.)
I used the magnetic paper scraps to glue to the back of the HD Mickey heads. 3 squares per Mickey head wasn't a strong enough magnet and the ears kept falling off. The large sheet magnets held fine. I didn't go crazy, just a few magnets. Dh thought it was corny at first but later admitted he liked how easy it was to find our door.

Hello Brooklyn,

My husband and I are going on our first ever cruise on March 8-12. I was wondering if you could help me out. In the middle of your door you have a calender/itinerary. Is there any way you could make one for us. We will be on the Disney Wonder March 8-12, 2009, 1st cruise, Jon and Katie. I don't know if you needed all that information, but I gave it just in case. Thank you

Here is a pirate themed one. The one on my door is birthday themed. If you want it to look more like the one on my door let me know...I can take the birthday stuff off. :-)
