Fuel Surcharge Rebate?

Hi,
I was checking on my 5/23/09 reservation and I called DCL tonight, and was told that they we're giving the rebate back as an on-board surcharge. Has anyone heard of this being done? Also, I was told that my was for $112. I have to get my paperwork and check but does this amount sound correct? I'm booked on a 7night cruise. thanks!

Yes, since the price of a barrel of oil has dropped so much since reservations were made last year, DCL is providing OBCs for the fuel surcharges paid. $112 sounds about right.

Isn't that exciting! We just found out today about ours. Ours was $48 for a 3 night. so that amount sounds right! I'm totally excited. I mean I know we already paid that money, but I wasn't prepared for them to give it back, so to me, it feels like free mone!!!

My Dreams Unlimited TA said that Disney would be crediting the money back to my credit card, she didn't say anything about it being an OBC.

Hmm... I wonder why that is? Maybe call DCL and ask? My husband says he wants to use it to buy me onboard gifts prior to cruisin...I said NO WAY...it is my money to spend. LOL

Your TA must have reshopped it for you. This can only be done as a refund when the price of the cruise has not increased from the time you booked it.

I'm not sure if it is a reshop or a fuel refund, but when I asked her about the price difference she said Disney would put it back on my Visa, and so far they haven't.

i got an email from dreams in dec saying we would be getting a refund. then i got a second saying that this may be a mistake, they would let me know. i got a third one that said it hadn't been charged when i booked so i would not get the credit.
yesterday i check the price of our cruise and the difference was minimal. i should have received the onboard discount so i emailed dreams and asked why the difference between the web site and my reservation was only 32. they replied that it was because i had the surcharge on my bill and that they would take it off. my cost then went down about 150 (or so).
as i know i did not, for sure, have the surcharge on my booking i'm not sure what i should belive but hey, the price went down so WOO HOO i think dreams had made a mistake when they rebooked for me and just didn't want to say so. who cares, money in my pocket!!!
