Help! Next cruise: Western or RCI 13 night?

We are going on our 1st DCL cruise in a few weeks on the Wonder.
We were considering rebooking on board.
But, then we saw a 13 night RC Explorer cruise that interested us.

They have been on 5 (7 nights cruises). I am worried that a 13 night would be too long.
Also, I am concerned that they might not find kids program fun after DCL.
(They have enjoyed RCI in the past)

They will be 11 and 9.

We loved our 14 night DCL cruise....it was the only time I got off the ship and felt I'd been on vacation long enough. We did 3 days at Disneyland first...

We spent 10 days at WDW and the kids were ready to leave.

I would love to go on the EB-TA but, it won't work with the sschool schedules.

The 13 night is over spring break -they would only miss 3 days of school.

But, I am afraid that they are going to like DCL alot and not want to sail RCI for a while.

I can tell you our experience with both DCL & RC.. no comparison. Our DD never wanted to leave the programs on DCL & on RC we couldn't get her to go. She did go a time or two but not for long. The program on RC was not the same, not many activities. Kind of more 'baby sitting'. I will not ever do RC again. Not due to just the kids program but the cruise itself. Definitly wasn't Disney!!! We did a 5 day Bermuda trip with RC, couldn't wait to get off the ship! Hope this helps you out.

Since you and your kids have enjoyed Royal Caribbean in the past, I doubt they will suddenly insist that you cruise only on Disney! If the 13-night on RCI is comparable in price to the 7-night on DCL - it's a no-brainer to me.

The 13 night would be more once you add in "babysitting fee" after 10pm, sodas, etc.

Last year, we tried Carnival( after sailing on RC and Hal). The kids hated the kids program. We had to force them to go. They felt that it was babyish. The only time they would go was "late night party" becasue they had free time and video games. We ended up spending $400 in babysitting fees.

While planning our DCL cruise, I pulled up Navigators for their age groups. Both kids informed us that they will be at kids program most of the time.
Wow! Dh and I will have an opportunity to enjoy the adults only areas.

If it were my family - my kids would be in bed by 10 p.m. or with me, and I don't pay for soda.

We like to go to the comedy shows and clubs. Unfortunately, those are not for kids.
