So for our next Adult only vacation we would like to go to Vegas.
We have it down to only a few hotels
Bellagio
Luxor
Caesars Palace
Mandalay Bay
MGM

Any help as to which is the best? We don't plan on hitting the tables or the slots (Mostly checking out the shows, etc)

TIA :) :thumbsup2

We have only been once with DH needing to be there for business. We stayed at the Paris and were very pleased.
We had a great view of Bellagio's water show. That was amazing!

We went in Dec. 2007 and stayed at The Mirage. I LOVED it! I would stay there again in a heartbeat, but if money were no object I would stay at the Bellagio. That was my favorite of all the hotels. We thought we might try Paris sometime, that was nice too.

Have a great time! It's one of my favorite places to go! :goodvibes

The first time I went we stayed at the MGM. It is a nice hotel but it can be a big treck to your room once you get up to the floor because it is a circle lobby when you get out of the elevator with about three or four very long halls that you can not even see the end of from the lobby where all the rooms are.

We are huge fans of both the Mirage and Bellagio.
Mirage will be cheaper.
Both are center strip baby!
MGM is reall really nice too. and Big!

The rooms at Luxor are badly in need of a remodel. We stayed in the pyramid and it was dirty and run down. All the rest on your list are good. Stayed at the Wynn in October for 2 nights free and it was fantastic!

Of the hotels you've listed - Bellagio without a doubt. Beautiful hotel in a perfect location.

Paris is also very nice.

I would like to stay at The Wynn next time. It, too, is fabulous. However, the location of Bellagio is better.

Have fun!

I am going for the first time this week. We are staying at the Palazzo. Will let you know what it is like.

Having stayed at several on your list, I didn't think you could wrong with any of them. Having read the comments about Luxor, I reserve recommending that one as it's been about 10 years since we stayed there.

Bellagio would be my first choice. Beautiful hotel and rooms. Would probably be the most expensive out of the bunch. Great location - centrally located on the strip.

I've stayed at Luxor in the Pyramid part and as already been said - those rooms need an update. Another minus is that it's on the end of the strip.

I've never stayed at Caesars Palace. A plus I can see is that it's centrally located.

I loved Mandalay Bay. Beautiful hotel and rooms. The only minus (for me anyway) was that it's at the end of the strip. If this was across from Bellagio, this would be my first choice.

MGM was really nice, not at the end of the strip, but I wouldn't consider it centrally located either. But the place is HUGE - and if you're not big on walking the strip, than I would assume you might not be hiking to your room either.

Not on your list - but I would recommend the Mirage. My sister and I stayed there last Thanksgiving. I don't know if it was completed yet, but we got in on the - we've renovated our rooms and are offer great deals to lure the tourists in - promotion / special pricing.

Sorry to ramble! I really don't think you can go wrong with any of the ones listed EXCEPT for Luxor. Otherwise - I think it depends on how much you want to spend and how much you're interested / able to walk. HTH!

I stayed at The Hotel at Mandalay Bay in May. It was wonderful. Because it is a little farther down the strip, you can get a suite for the same price as a room at the other hotels.

I love the MGM Grand and have stayed there 4 times already. We stay at the MGM because now we get comp rooms, and we love being in the same place as the Studio 54 nightclub. Makes it easier to get back to your room after a whole night of dancing!

When we go we stay downtown, at 4 Queens and Golden Nuget. Rooms are nice and you can always go to the strip by cab or bus. At night its nice to just walk out and see the crowds. Food is good and playing the slots are cheaper than at the high price places.

Do take advanace of all the player cards for all the free bees and comps.

I am going in May staying at the RIO for a conference

Given your list, I would absolutely recommend the Bellagio.

Not sure if you've also considered the Venetian, but that is also a gorgeous hotel and the guest rooms are beautiful. They are huge!

only been there once and stayed at the Bellagio. It was at a convention rate so not to bad. While DH was at meetings, I roamed the strip. Of the others, I did like the Mirage as well.

Agreed. Sometimes downtown gets a bad rap.
Yeah, its seedy, gritty and urban. But i love it!
Good comps and decent rooms.

We are planning on going to Vegas in July! To celebrate or 1st Anniversary. I've been but Dh hasn't. There are so many things I want to do. The top two are shows, Phantom of the Opera and Bite. We are staying at the Mirage $400 for 7 nights.

AWSOME deal!
The Mirage is realy nice, it was the first "mega resort".
Mystere is a really good show also, at TI.
Its a cirque show.

I haven't read all of the answers, but I would say to decide which shows you are going to watch, then plan your hotel accordingly.

What are you planning on doing during the day?

We saw Phantom, O and Blue Man Group the last time we were there. I think DH wasn't really looking forward to Phantom but once we were there he loved it.

Have a great trip. We're going for opening weekend of March Madness with a group of friends from another board. SOOO looking forward to that trip!!!
