i've heard you get some kind of deal if you rebook while still on the ship but i have a couple of questions.
1 what kind of savings can you get?

2 can you transfer your booking to dreams to give them the credit and get their onboard credit
What you have to do is nominate them as your travel agent when booking onboard, then you get their offers in full as well
3 what if the date you want to go on isn't booking on your cruise? the next one we can see ourselves going on would be 2014 and that's so far a head.
You can move dates on, as long as you are not in the cancellation zone and the cruises for that date are released, IE you can book up to th end of 2010 now. If the year you wish to cruise isn't released, it Will be subject to the terms and conditions and offers for that year when released so you cannot guarantee the savings listed below, but so far it has never changed.
You will receive a 10% discount and an onboard credit for the future cruise.
The onboard credit is usually $200 for a 7-night cruise;
$100 for a 3-night or 4-night cruise.
Go to the future bookings desk on the ship. Check your daily Navigator for times and location.
A deposit is required at the time of booking. The exact amount is based on the room category booked, number of persons in the room and the length of the sailing.
Sometimes
DCL offers reduced deposit discounts, if they are available on normal bookings you can also have these on the ship.
Normally deposit is $200 per person for 3-night or 4-night cruises
$250 per person for 7-night cruises in Categories 4-12.
For Categories 4-12, the deposit is fully refundable until full payment is due.
The deposit is usually $500 per person for a suite (Categories 1-3). If you reserve a suite, your deposit is nonrefundable, but it can be moved to a different date without penalty.
2010 Special crusies the full deposit is $600, and for Cat1>3 $800 pp
You can later change the dates of the future cruise and still keep the onboard booking discount and onboard credit. There is no penalty for making changes to the reservation. For this reason, some people book random future dates, just to hold the discount. Note you can only transfer them on up to 75 days before your cruise, after that date its treated as a cancellation.
You can nominate your
travel agency at the time of booking, or you can transfer your onboard reservation to a travel agency, keep the onboard booking discount and onboard credit, AND get whatever promotional deal the travel agency may be offering .Note the TA received more commission if you nominate them at booking, and less when its transferred later and this might effect their offers. However, onboard booking incentives cannot be combined with any group discounts organized by a travel agency.
You can book as many staterooms for future cruises as you have people in your party. I.E. A family of 5 on the cruise, can book up to 5 staterooms for future cruises, This is great if you'd like to get a great deal for family and friends.
But take care if you only book 1 or 2 people in each room, to avoid a large deposit. If the ship is popular and sells quickly, it my reach its overall people limit, or kids limit, so you may have a bed or two spare in your room, but the ship could be full and no more bookings allowed.
