DH and I are sailing on the Wonder without the kids 11/12/09. As you can see from my sig, we have some pirate costumes that we would love to wear again. Can anyone tell me if adults tend to wear costumes for this event?

Me (22) and my sister (20) just got back from the 4 night this week, and we wore full pirate costumes. It was so fun to dress up, and we got great pictures with the characters and Jack Sparrow, and we even had some other cruisers ask to have their pics taken with us because we were so elaborately decked out! I say if you have the costumes and want to have fun, then go for it!

Thanks for the compliment. We spent more $$ than we should have on those costumes, but sure had fun at MNSSHP!! Even had a "dream" that we attributed to the way we were dressed. Of course, DS (16) was wearing his regular clothes.....

Jack Sparrow makes an appearance at the party??!! :faint: :faint:

OK, now which is more exciting? Going on a cruise with DH (with Jack Sparrow costume ;) )or seeing Disney's Jack Sparrow?:rotfl:

Is he in character? Meaning does he act like Jack too?

My entire family dresses up to the max for Pirate Night. Last night at a dinner party Dh was telling everyone about it - and how excited he was to do it again this cruise and how he feels like a little kid when he gets to dress up and do the PIRATE night.

Anyone know where to get cheap adult costumes. We have a hat, but thats it. DD has a full costume though.

I rented ours from a costume rental place. We knew we would only use them once so we didn't bother purchasing them.

It seemed like more people went all out on the 7-day than the shorter cruises we've been on, but the only thing that really matters is that you have fun. There'll be enough dressed up that you'll be able to blend in. Plus you may help bring a little magic to somebody else, and it's that the point?

Depending on when you sail, you might be able to get costumes for a good price the day after Halloween. Usually all the stores have great clearance! I found a costume for DD that would exactly match mine, but did not buy it as I figured she would outgrow it before we could wear them together.

Thanks for all the replies. We will definately bring our costumes.

Another question. Is the menu different the night of the pirate party on the Wonder? We have been poring over menus and trying to decide which night to eat a Palo. So far we would like to eat at Palo on our first night which we hope will be Animator's rotation.

That's what my sister and I did, got our costumes on sale 50% off on November 2nd this year for the pirate party on our cruse last week. Great deal, plus we have them for a nice halloween costume this year!

Yes, the dinner menu is different on pirate night on the 4 night Wonder, not the 3 night. You get a scroll take home pirate dinner menu. We did Palo on night 2, so we wouldn't miss any of the restaurants, since night 2 and 3 repeat but 3 is pirate night.

Here's ours:

Oooohh, yes! Be sure to read the Navigator the night before CC to make sure of his appearance time in the morning. We were the last family in line, and some other guests were downright rude to the CM who had ended the line precisely at the appointed time. That picture was our Christmas card this year. He was very funny! We saw him again after dinner that night, in our full pirate costumes. He seemed to enjoy that very much. Also a great photo.
