this is the best question of the day here for me!!!!!

i live and breathe universal in october.

i am completely and totally addicted to HHN..........

Halloween Horror Nights is a hard ticket event that takes place on th, fri, sat and sundays for october. it has at times included the last weekend of sept and the first few days of november. depends on how the dates fall for the weekend.

it is nothing like disney. no trick or treating, no guest costumes and lots of beer carts.

there are no children tickets sold for it and universal discourages young children from attending.

i have been atttending HHN since 2000.
i plan my UO visit around it.

HHN is not for the faint at heart.
if you are into horror, great theme-ing, love horror movies/books, then this is the place for you.
if you have children under 15, i would suggest not taking them to it.

the event is held at the studios side.
the park closes to the public at 5:00
HHN is from 6:30 to midnight on thu and sunday.
and on fri and saturday, 6:30 to 2:00 am.

IOA closes at 6:00 on the hard ticket event nights.

Oh boy did you ask the wrong question! ;)

Mac...you wanna handle this one?
:rotfl2:

Thanks guys for the info.

By the way, I've been wondering a while now whats with the "proud redhead"?

Is it because you've got red hair? because I have too.

Hope I haven't said the wrong thing:scared1:

here is the HHN Website so you can check it out... (well, at least last year's event)

(regarding the redhead, I think it is because 'true' Disney fans look upon Universal fans like red-headed ******* stepchildren...shunned by most Disney addicts as Disney is the most fabulous place on earth. Said shunner would not step foot inside another theme park for fear of tainting themselves with the stench and damnation of such traitorous action, but some have crossed over the line and became addicted. Yes, my red-headed bretheren, there is more to life than just Disney and they rejoiced enjoying both.. but are still shunned by the non-believers in UO and have been known to be assaulted right on Main Street USA for their diabolical actions ((okay that last part was made up))... but I could be wrong :P )

The proud redhead tag was given to all the Universal homies since we are considered the "redheaded stepchildren" of the DIS. I don't think any of us really have red hair.

Nope not redheaded but going bald :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao:

Halloween Horror Nights...pant, pant...Halloween Horror Nights...
I was just getting over my addiction and now it's coming out again.

Here is my summary report of last year's HHN:

http://celebrationfl.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html

And here is the best HHN incident ever (ever see someone put one of those giant turkey legs down their pants?):

http://celebrationfl.blogspot.com/2008_10_17_archive.html

God, I love Halloween Horror Nights! If you decide to do it, you're in for a real treat, especially since the new roller coaster will be open too.

I consider myself one of the red-headed stepchildren even though I don't have the official designation. I figure that a USF/IOA Premier pass should be instant qualification, hee hee.

move over sister, you have competition on that addiction........

i started planning the 09 trip before i left the HRH last october.......
and plans for the RIP tour, again........:hippie:

i get my fix on the other board i'm a member of....chainsaw wolf.
it rules.........hhn talk starts early there.

ginger, i read back and think you are the one with a 4 year old child.
if you are interested in attending hhn, check out some of the videos on youtube to get the big picture on it.

if you think it is your type of fun, you would need to arrange child care for the night you would attend as a 4 year would not be able to handle it very well.

guest service monkey did a fine job of explaining the red head tags.
we are proud step children of the dis.

everyone is invited to be red on the darkside!

metro is an addict also for hhn.........he's too shy to admit it.
he is completely and totally addicted to it like me.

How much are these * Frequent Fear passes * and how do you get
them ?

Also since I haven't been in Oct. yet and planning to in 2009 , how much is
a ticket to get into this event. I did look around on the site but because
it is no more this year , there isn't pricing ?

thanks

I am not sure about the cost of Frequent Fear because we just up grade the freebies we get with our Premier Passes. They can't be too much tho' because it's not that much to upgrade 'em. Then you can go on any and all off-peak nights, and USF usually adds some peak nights for good measure. I think we went like 12 or 13 nights in 2008.

The FF passes are a good deal if you're planning on more than one visit. I think they were $50.00 for passholders and around $65.00 for the general public. You can purchase them online when the tickets are available.

I went for the first time last year and it was amazing, cannot wait to go back!

And with Friday the 13th being released next month surely there will be a new Jason house this year? If so I may have to reconsider my plans of waiting until 2010.....

BTW - Patster - you still haven't been visited by the tag fairy yet?!
