Hi all,
Just saying hello. I'm slated to go to Disney on the military offer next month. I posted another thread and although I am very confused about the companion offer I am trying to remain hopeful.

My husband is in Korea (till November) and I live and work on Andrews AFB.

Oh and I've never been into Disney so I have no clue about anything. I have been reading and learned so much from here but forgive all my questions. Isn't there a beginners Disney section?

Finally, I have a pug (Prissy :lovestruc ) who is coming too. She will be in doggie day care during the day.

Welcome to the DIS! :yay:

We're an Army family currently stationed just up the road from you at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD.

You'll love Disney. Ask any questions you may have about trip planning. There are plenty of people around to answer and help.

I have too many questions! Is there a newbie section I should be reading?

No, just post your questions on the appropriate forum.

For dining questions - the Restaurant board

For travel questions - the Transportation board

For resort questions - the Resorts board

For theme park questions - the Theme Parks board

There is also a military forum that is part of the Community board but it doesn't get much traffic.

Good luck!

Hello from a fellow military spouse. We are stationed in Germany and my husband is on a 15 month tour in Iraq.

I'm slated to go to Disney on the military offer next month.

Hi, I am an AF wife that travels a lot, as well. Funny that I have been to EuroDisney and Tokyo Disney, but only to Epcot Center one time and never a USA Disney. How sad I am. Maybe you could tell me about the military offer. I am in the DC area now.

:wave2: Glad to have you folks on board. :thumbsup2 I would like to thank all of you and your families for what you do.

Please stay safe.

Hello from another military wife. We are Air Force currently living in the Tampa area, just an hour away from WDW. We lived in the DC area 6-7 years ago. DH was stationed at Bolling and the Pentagon. As others have said, just go on each thread and ask away. I have learned so much on these boards.

Oh, and welcome to Prissy also. We have 3 furrbabies, two Boston Terriers and a Boxer. They haven't gotten to go to WDW though, yours is so lucky!

You can get all the information about the military offer here:

Also check out this information about Military Room Only discounts:

My DH is retired AF and we have already booked our latest trip for Oct at the Coronado Springs (CSR) at a price less than Shades of Green (SOG). We just added the Quick Service Dining to it. First time using a dining plan.

For newbies, check out the link to the abbreviations. It will help figure out what everyone is talking about and not drive you crazy wondering what is being said. :confused3

And Welcome to the boards.:wave2:

You have come to the right place! Be sure to check out those room rates with your ITT-- I am going to check it out just for grins this week. We are doing a Disney Cruise in March, but we are also trying to figure out if we can squeeze in long weekend at The World. In the meantime I have been having fun helping some of the folks I work with plan their trips.

Have fun planning!

Hi, I am former military and currently a military wife. DH and I are planning to take our 3yr DD and 11mth DS to disney this year, and it will be everyone's first time (except for me of course ;) that is how I am talking him into going...)

We have been trying to get information about the Armed Forces Salute offer at our base SATO (travel office). They said they haven't heard about it, but the offer requires that an exchange certificate be obtained from your base travel office. Then the certificate can be redeemed when you get to Disneyland or DisneyWorld. The offer says it is valid for military ID cardholders and it sounds like a great offer so we are going for it. When we called DisneyWorld to say that our base hadn't been notified, whoever it was at the other end of the phone kept repeating that all the military bases were given the information. We reminded her that there are many stationed overseas, and she sounded annoyed and repeated that everyone was notified--not a good customer service person. We have contacted our base Moral and Welfare officer to see if he has more info. To all of you stationed overseas, we will get back to you on the boards and let you know how this turns out. It could be that Disney forgot about the bases outside the States. That is sad.
