Ages 4 and 6, Anything for them to do?

We have never been to Universal or Islands. Is there anything to do for kids ages 4 and 6? I don't really wanna pay a lot of money for like 3 or 4 rides and that is it when we will be staying at Disney and have passes. Opinions on the parks? TIA!

I am a huge fan of Universal... I really love the rides that they have added in the last few years... I really love the baby swap areas they have installed... Disney should take a cue from them for this... but I am off topic...

Back to your question, I have an almost 4 year old and a 9 year... we have been going to Disney & Universal for the past 10 years... I find that when I am there with my 4 year old, I spend a lot of time in Dr. Suess Land and in Baby Swap areas... There is very limited activities for her to do... That is just my opinion

My family went in October and our boys were 4 and 2 1/2 (almost 3). Suess Landing was GREAT, but they seemed to LOVE everything!! Shrek, Jimmy Neutron the Simpsons, MIB and the list goes on!!!

As the other posters have indicated, you will find plenty to do for the kids at both parks and I'm sure they will love every minute of it!

My boys are 6 and 4 and we've been goning to Universal for 7 years. They love everything. Dr Suess area has a fun part called If I Ran the Zoo. JP area has a play ground with water guns, rope bridges and nooks and crannies to crawl in. Each year gets better as they grow and can do more rides. Overall I would say it's up to your children, if they are brave most things are perfect. Twister and Disaster are two of my boys favorites on the Studios side. Have a great time if you go!!

We went two years or so ago when my kids were 7 and 4. My 7-year old had a great time and rode everything she could except the big coasters (she doesn't like to go upside down). My 4-year old and I spent most of the trip in Seuss Landing (which alone is worth the cost of admission ) and a few rides in US. Both kids enjoyed the Curious George playground area. There wasn't much my 4-year old was interested in at US, except the Barney show. She was even scared of E.T. Much of that was my fault - we rode Spiderman since she was tall enough, and she was afraid to do any dark rides after that. She's better about dark rides now, but I will probably never get her on Spiderman again!

We are planning to go back next year, and I'm looking forward to the whole family being able to do things together. I felt like DD4 and I spent a lot of time wandering around waiting for DH and DD7 to get off the rides. That was mainly poor planning on my part - we should have just split up and done our own things. I had only been to Universal once before and wasn't familiar with the rides from a kid's point of view. Definitely read a lot here to find out what you think will be good for your kids.

DH likes Universal way more than Disney, so it was totally worth it to us, even though DD4 wouldn't/couldn't ride much. We are looking forward to a trip next year!
