Great update! so sorry that it was such a tough morning:hug: My kids are bigger now, but oh how I remember what it is like:goodvibes

I hope that Liam gets a good stroller nap:thumbsup2 and you can have a little relaxing and fun~

Thanks for the wonderful fall pictures of MK, this is one of the times I have never seen of WDW, the orange, yellow and pumpkins look so festive!

Sorry the morning isn't quite getting any better...

hey I dind't know there was a golden horse :confused3 Is it a big one you ride or a small one on a picture? Have to try and find that!

PPS! :tigger: so glad he found something he enjoyed and had it to himself to enjoy.

Here's hoping the stroller ride will help him snooze and you all get some :wizard: magic in your day!

 Scrappie

It's amazing that the Playful Spot is always a small child's favorite place.
:confused3

But a :thumbsup2 that there was something he truly enjoyed.

ride order...? Oh well, you live and learn..don't be too hard on yourself....

I think we're friends on FB? Yes?

Great update!! I love how the MK looks all decorated for Halloween.

I was surprised at how Zachary reacted to rides when we were there in 2006 and even in 2007 at 4 years old. Some of the rides that I expected to be a big hit were scary for him. He just wanted to ride "The Happy Ride" - It's a Small World. :goodvibes He loved Winnie the Pooh too - I actually think it was after Peter Pan that he was asking for the happy ride again. :scared: I think we made a big mistake by taking him on ToT at 4, however, even without knowing we are going soon he has been talking about how he is going to ride ToT next time and he wants to ride the "Yeti" (EE) too. :scared1: We'll see... You just can't tell how a child is going to react - Alex loves anything that moves fast! I kind of thought Zachary might resond the same way - oh well, guess I was wrong. :rolleyes1

I hope Liam falls asleep in his stroller - but I have a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach... :confused3

I have read all of your tr. I came over from the Lapu board.I wanted to let you know that we did the same thing when I preggers with Alexia. We told people that I was having a girl but not her name. Now that she is 3 people in our families still have a hard time saying her name right and spelling it alot of people add an "r" on the end. :confused3 Hope Liam falls asleep for you.

I'm so sorry that you had a crummy morning!
You just never know with babies..........even teens throw you for a loop from time to time.:sad2:

We've ridden the little horse drawn fire truck to the castle..........it's a fun little trip and nice to get off your feet for a few minutes.

Every toddler is so different....we even took out 13 mo old on Haunted Mansion...nothing perturbed him. It was very very odd....but he really enjoyed looking around. It was probably that 4:30 am wake up that go the best of him....and I'm sorry..I had to lol a little at the grumpy baby pics. I see that face ALOT around here on my 20 month old. :rotfl:

Great installment, I really loved the pictures. I had no idea Fantasyland was that dead at rope drop. I love that picture of Liam crying. When he gets bigger you can show it to all of his girlfriends :rotfl:.

Thanks for showing us the hidden mickey :thumbsup2. I hope your day got better after he took a nap.

All of Fantasyland can be done within 2 hours if you get there at rope drop. I always laugh at the line for Peter Pan at about 1pm....I always walk on.

Oh, Heidi.

I'm so glad he enjoyed Pooh's Playful Spot. I am hoping that this less than magical morning is due to the fact that Liam got up super duper early instead of the face that he didn't like rides....

That's what I was hoping for too!

And I'll be writing about Pooh's Playful Spot in December TR very, very soon. It was a GODSEND. And I had a hard time getting my son to leave, too. :lmao:

Every park should have a Playful Spot....you'll hear more about that idea later....

It's funny how you commented about the vehicles on Main st. I was just thinking that I never see any of them when I'm there.
I only see them in the morning.

When DD was Liam's age I made mistake of her first ride at MK being Pirates because it was the only thing open due to torrential rain - between the dark and the drop after the scary mist pirate I thought someone was surely going to give me a mom of the year award at the end of the ride... I suffered for it for the rest of the week so I feel your pain... (and think I used the darn left tunnel that time too!) :goodvibes
I think we forget that they have no idea of what's going on at that age!

My DH and I actually rode on the old truck. It was pretty cool, especially for my DH who lives and breathes cars.
I think we'll have to try it sometime....it actually would have been a good "attraction" for Liam that morning.

Poor you and Liam!!!

At least he enjoyed Pooh's Playful Spot...hope he falls asleep and gets some rest!

That was the new plan.....

Glad he enjoyed Pooh's Playful Spot! :goodvibes

He really did. Ran all over the place in there.....plus there was a bench for Me!

Great update! so sorry that it was such a tough morning:hug: My kids are bigger now, but oh how I remember what it is like:goodvibes
It was so different from how he usually is....even how he was traveling.

Awwh, poor guy! I hope he went to sleep! Can't wait to hear how it went!

I should take bets on how long it was until he napped.....

hey I dind't know there was a golden horse :confused3 Is it a big one you ride or a small one on a picture? Have to try and find that!
Cinderella's horse is one that you can ride.....it has a golden colored "ribbon" around it's tail..... I read that it wasn't on the outside ride, but I could not find it so I don't know if that's correct.

I think we're friends on FB? Yes?
No.....I still can't find you. It's gives me all these Josh Jordans even thou I type Yosh :confused3

I hope Liam falls asleep in his stroller - but I have a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach... :confused3

Are you psyhic or something????

I have read all of your tr. I came over from the Lapu board.I wanted to let you know that we did the same thing when I preggers with Alexia. We told people that I was having a girl but not her name. Now that she is 3 people in our families still have a hard time saying her name right and spelling it alot of people add an "r" on the end. :confused3 Hope Liam falls asleep for you.

Welcome! I can wait to see if my mother can pronounce the new baby's name....even thou it's not that unusually.....she had a hard time with Liam for a few weeks.....instead of Lee-um, she would say Lie-um :confused3

I'm so sorry that you had a crummy morning!
You just never know with babies..........even teens throw you for a loop from time to time.:sad2:
:scared1:

Every toddler is so different....we even took out 13 mo old on Haunted Mansion...nothing perturbed him. It was very very odd....but he really enjoyed looking around.

We took Liam to a couple small local theme parks when he was 13-15 months old and he have no real problems then. But by 17 months he was much more aware of his surroundings.

Thanks for reading everyone!

OK…it’s 10am, we just pulled Liam out of Pooh’s Playful Spot and we are in a despair need for him to take a nap so the plan is to walk around so he can fall asleep in his stroller….which by the way he hasn’t done in months.

Still empty in Fantasyland:

Love the detail on the bench:
1028040.jpg

The queue to Dumbo, not too long of a line but we weren’t even gonna try it at this point:

Cinderella’s Carousel:
1028041.jpg

I wanted to get pictures of the old Skyway buildings….here’s a few shots of the one in Fantasyland (I had the pleasure of riding the Skyway in 1984).

1028043.jpg

1028044.jpg

1028046.jpg

In the picture above you can see where the stroller parking lot is for this end of Fantasyland….I never knew where it was until this trip.

Looks like we have the place to ourselves:
1028045.jpg

Liam is still awake as we head into Liberty Square. He is now at the “over tired” stage and is not a happy camper. The stroller ride is not going to put him to sleep at this point….we need to try something else. That’s when the light bulb went off….
You know that little store in Liberty Square…I think it sells Christmas stuff….the one across from this:
1028056.jpg

The one with the little porch with 2 rocking chairs???? Rocking chairs that would relax and sooth my baby boy??? Like heaven on a porch those rocking chairs were! DH offered to rock Liam asleep and suggested that I go on Haunted Mansion by myself. He knew I was dying (nice pun) to see the updates. OK twist my arm.

1028048.jpg

Loved the updates….I hung back in the stretching room at the end so I could hear the gargoyles chat, so cool. I loved all the updates including the attic scene (which I had read details about before the trip which helped me understand what the story was as I flew by). The improved audio is wonderful, I heard things that I’ve never heard before it there because it’s so crisp and clear now.

I took these on the way out:

And this was the bliss that I saw when I got back to the rocking chairs:

We got Liam back into his stroller and decided that we were hungry. This worked well into my plans because I had wanted to eat at Columbia Harbor House. We had to wait about 10 minutes for them to open up for the day….yah it was that early….10:30am. The music in there was really loud….and noticeable because there was only a few other couples in there. DH went to find us the quietest table possible for our sleeping toddler.
I had the Anchors Aweigh Sandwich - white tuna with lettuce and tomato on toasted multigrain bun; I ordered just the sandwich ($5.99) since it comes with chips (I think) and I got a side of fries instead (1.99).
1028057.jpg

It was very, very good. The crust of the bread got to be a bit much with all those multigrains on there but that was easy enough not to eat.
DH got the Fried Fish basket with fries ($7.09). He declared it good. Not as good at the fish and chips in the UK at Epcot, but a nice change from burgers and chicken strips.
1028058.jpg

We also got 2 cups of ice for our bottled soda that we brought in with us. Saved five bucks right there. Total for our lunch including tax was $16.05.

Tip Time: For those of you that might be a little nervous about ordering a cup of ice…don’t be. The cashiers actually have a menu button for it on their registers. On my receipt it has printed on it “Cup of Ice”.

Tip #2: At all but one place we got a FULL cup of ice. Too much ice; I would have to dump some out to be able to get my soda in the cup. Because we packed a little cooler for Liam’s apple juice and sometimes a yogurt or applesauce for him….I would have a couple zip lock bags that I could put the ice from our cups into to keep his stuff cold. Worked like a charm.

Just as we were finishing up lunch, a table of loud people came into our section in the dinning room. We packed up real quick and left so it wouldn’t wake Liam up.

I find it amazing how empty Fantasyland is in the very early morning.

So glad that you were able to get Liam asleep. :goodvibes

Yay! Liam fell asleep! :cheer2: Gotta love rocking chairs. :thumbsup2

I've heard great things about the tuna sandwich at CHH. We've eaten there once before, but we didn't have that.

Great update!! So glad Liam was able to get down for a nap and you two were able to have a few moments while he napped!! CHH looked really yummy, I'm eating there next Monday and that tuna fish looked really really good LOL!!!

I miss the Skyway -- I have very fond memories of it as a child.

The gargoyles talk in the stretching room??? I never knew this!!! So hanging back next time.

I WILL eat at CHH this trip -- I am decreeing it! Our first day at Disney will be the MK, so that will be our dinner spot.

So glad for you that Liam went to sleep!

Glad to hear you got to enjoy a ride by yourself! As a mom, I know what a rarity that is. And even happier to see the little nugget fell asleep. I'm hoping you had a nice long nap time to decompress. :goodvibes

You have to love Fantasyland first thing in the morning. I'm always amazed at how many of the rides you can see in that first hour.

My last trip was the first time I ever ate at the Columbia Harbor house (witht he KTTK Tour). I felt like it was such a hidden jem. Much more quiet and a bit more relaxing than the other big table service places.

:cool1: Yay!! Liam finally fell asleep! And you got to check out the Haunted Mansion! I must not have remembered much about it because I didn't really notice the changes - except that it seemed newer. :rolleyes1

I want to eat at CHH this time - I have to look the menu over again before we go to make sure there will be something there for everyone. I don't eat any fish - can't stand it! Funny being from New England... but I LOVE chicken fried in the same oil as fish. :confused3 I'm just not sure the kids would like the unusual taste added to their chicken - especially Alex with his keen senses.

Theres nothing like the relief that comes over you when a cranky baby falls asleep!!

YAY!! Liam's sleeping!!:cheer2: :cheer2: Oh, sorry.YAY! Liam's sleeping.:goodvibes :goodvibes
How sweet of your DH to let you get a ride while he rocked Liam to sleep.
