Some good news about availability..

I called earlier this week for a 1 bedroom BWV standard view for June 21-26. I got four of the five nights I wanted and waitlisted the one other night. It came through in two days. With all the negativity about availability, I thought I would post some good news. I know a one bedroom is probably the easiest to get but at a little over five months out, and a standard view, I felt pretty lucky.

I have been really upset with availability lately. We've had trouble getting rooms after the 5-6 month out point for the last couple years and we go a couple times a year (most recently when we had to stay at POP because not only was there no DVC accomodations, but "supposidly" it was the only hotel with a room available for all of the nights I needed in early December- I had a hard time believing that!)
BUT.... when I called last week to book Spring Break (only 3 months out), I got a 2BR with NO PROBLEMS! I didn't even have to adjust my dates at all. That's what it was like for us when we joined...being able to book 2-4 months out (maybe not at our first choice resort, but at least somewhere). I realize that can't mean good things for Disney if they have available rooms, but selfishly, I am happy.

I just got 2 nights at VB at only 1 month out!!!!:cool1:
2 months ago, I got 7 nights at the BW 1bedroom at 5 months out during Easter week.

However, The rep I spoked to at MS said that BW and BCV are the hardest to book and told me that I made a GREAT choice in choosing BW as my home resort:cheer2:

I think the economy has a lot to do with being able to book at 5 months out!!!

I had to stay at Pop one night out of 2 last December because right up to the end, I couldn't get December 7th...got the 8th at AKV, and I took that!

Early December is extremely busy for the DVC resorts. I used to try waitlisting but had no success for that time period at all. I specifically purchased my BWV contract in order to book it at the 11 month window for early December.

We will be at WDW during this time period too! We are starting at AKV and switching over to the Swan later in the week. I am depleted of points due to our upcoming 2010 Baltic Cruise, lol. Perhaps we can get a few people together (or just us) and have a little DIS meet over by the BWV?

I am trying to get BWV for those same dates........june 21-26 but I want a studio. I got june 21 but can't get the others.....i'm going to keep calling and i'm on the waitlist.

I will be arriving 6/27 at SSR. This is our first summer vacation to WDW. Those of you who have traveled during this time how are crowds and weather?

It will be crowded, particularly if your stay extends into the July 4 pre or post time period. Use fast passes, early morning hours, and perhaps a break mid day back at the resort.

Weather will be hot hot hot. Typically, there may be rain showers in the afternoon, which can be refreshing, lol. They don't last long and then the sun returns again...

I called this afternoon and got July 12-18, 2BR at BCV :scared1:  :cool1: We're very excited! :goodvibes

I think a mini DVC meet is a great idea. We can get together for burgers and a kitchen sink at Beaches and Cream!!

I called for an impulsive trip over SWW in May, including Memorial Day.
I had my choice of resorts, NONE of them were booked, and many of them had my choice of room type, either studio or 1BR
I chose BWV - I've never visited that one, and it's close to where Darth Vader will be hanging out. My little boys want to keep a close eye on him;)

We booked at BWV right at 7 month window in Nove (day after Thanksgiving) for 1st choice, MS told us then there was ALOT of availability for BWV for week of July 4th:eek: Last year had to wait list every single day.:confused3 Can only assume economy is the issue?

Yum! Sounds fantastic!! As we get a bit closer we can draw up a meet thread for anyone who would like to join in too...

Now that makes me wanna get a ressie for that time too. :yay:

Come on down!!!! The more the merrier! :goodvibes

That (And I think future airfare proces were high then, and may still be high) but I also think there's excitement about going to Kidani (great pool area) and the near future openings of BLT and THV.. have lessened demand at the "older" resorts

I just made a ressie for a Std View 1 Br for June 21st-June 26th too! The CM I spoke with was quite surprised that it was available and congratulated me for snagging it! I would love to meet up with other Dissers!
