On what date can I book Jan 30, 2010?

Waiting on ROFR right now (and praying we'll pass), but I'm already planning. We want to check-in on Jan. 30, 2010 at BWV, our home resort. What date can we book? Confused because February is a short month.

Good question since Feb only has 28 days but I would imagine you could call on Feb 28th to book. If not, they will tell you when you can. Good luck with your contract I just booked my first trips this week.

I believe you will have to wait until March 1, 2009.

FWIW, try not to worry about getting the reservation. Late January to mid-February is one of the easier times to book DVC resorts. There will still be rooms available at the 7 month mark for those times.

Even if you can't book until later in March or April, you will not have a problem getting a reservation. (It's possible the BW view or SV rooms will be booked, but the odds are in your favor that they will still be available 8 -10 months prior to arrival).

Hope you pass ROFR soon. Good luck!

Yes - this is always our preferred week. I booked my 2 bedroom at VWL at my 11 month window and changed over to a Boardwalk View 2BR at my 7 month mark. No issues at all.

I think that you are supposed to be able to book this on Feb 28th but that the software MS uses won't actually let you book it until Mar 1st. I seem to remember Caskbill posting about this problem some time ago.

But I think someone was successful...maybe a supervisor did it manually. I thought the issue was resolved. I do think that it's not a particularly busy time. If you wanted AKV CL, then I would press the issue. Of course, pressing the issue doesn't mean you'll get it...but I do think it's Februaruy 28!

My comments date back to the old software that MS used to use so maybe it was fixed in their new system.

Unless they changed the rules when they changed the booking date from being relative to the checkout date to the checkin date, you should be able to call on the 28th.

I have documentation in my early papers that explain it saying something like 'if a corresponding date doesn't exist then you may book on the last day of the month'. They even gave the February occurrence as an example.

Now in reality in the past it seems the DVC computers didn't work that way and the MS representative couldn't book even though that was the policy. Hopefully that has changed.

Patiently waiting on ROFR. Hopefully we pass. I'll definitely try on Feb 28. I'll let everyone know what happens.

Yes, that's how it SHOULD work, but I definitely had to call back on March 1st when I was trying to do that a few years ago.
