We are driving down in a truck.

Would we be allowed to ride our bikes from BWV to Hollywood Studios, if we through them in the back?

That's a great idea... i was gonna do the same when I was at SSR last month. I wanted to bring my bikes so I can ride to DTD, but my SUV was loaded up and didn't have room.
Not sure if Disney wants to see all those bikes locked up outside if everyone started doing that. :confused3

I believe so. It is not a very bad walk at all either. We do it all the time and my kids never complained. We make a game out of beating the boat back, which we always do.

I'd love to bring my bike; always wondered if you could ride your bike between BWV and HS. They rent bikes at the Community Hall. I'm not absolutely sure about personal bikes.

From BWV you can ride your bike to HS and back, but you can't leave it at HS.

Oh.
I don't know why I thought I had seen a bike rack there in Sept.

On a side note - does anyone know a link that list mileage around the World? Like how far from the entrance to TSM or RnR (I'm trying to get in better shape for this year's trips)

There is a bike rack for CM's; it's on the other side of the kennel. I wonder if guests can use it. My family rides bikes often; to school and work. I don't like the policy that guests can't leave their bike at HS. Are we absolutely sure this is the policy?

You could call WDW-PLAY to see where you can ride bikes. They are the number listed for more information on bike rentals on the official Disney Website. When you weren't riding them, you'd probably to keep the bikes in your villa or in your truck. I don't think there is anywhere to lock up bikes outside at the villas.

The gmap-pedometer site is a fun tool to play with. You can draw routes on top of satellite maps (hint - turn on manual drawing for Disney).

For example, here's http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2483927 a map showing it's almost exactly a quarter mile from the entrance to RnR.

Are you all sure about the no bike rack? I don't have a photo but I thought I remember one seeing one in September right by the tree before the trail leads up to the sidewalk where the charter buses drop off the people to HS. It was close but not next to the entrance.

Anyone else remember or is my brain making things up again....

Hello: The last couple of years I brought a group of guys(50-60 year olds) to WDW for a week in January, our main purpose is biking. We stayed at POP and cycled all over the world(not inside the parks). We averaged 25-35 miles each day. The only really busy roads are Beuna Vista Drive around DTD and the road between WL and Contem. resort. The rest of the place is great for biking. If you're interested I'll tell you the routes we took each day. Canadian tom

A number of years ago, Caskbill did a series of posts that showed the distance from different points in WDW to other points. One of the things I remember is that the distance from the BWV pool to HS entrance is .66 of a mile. Caskbill or someone else, if you still have a link to those posts, can you provide it?
