I'm with CP; after seeing yours and MeMom's pictures, I am definitely going to see this parade next month. All the pictures are so cute!!!

the apes are my FAVORITE! every time i'm there i ask ray if i can have an ape. he just rolls his eyes at me.

That cracked me up b/c my mother does the same thing! Ironically, my dad is scared of them, since he had nightmares when he was really young about the flying monkeys in the Wizard of Oz. I'm almost 25 and just found this out recently. Before, I never paid much attention to him walking quickly by them at AK!

I went and sat out on my street corner with a frozen lemonade and scrolled through. It was just like being there for real!!!

It was warm enough to do that yesterday....I'm wondering when the high is going to be 20 again I know we are known for crazy weather but it seems it's been very strange. I just want some SNOW!!

I love the ak parade! I think it's the best of the daytime parades!

I know I need to do my updates more often

But Dawn said we could take our time since she wouldn't be back for awhile....live through our TR's so we might take 6 months to do the last day just to live it up

I really enjoyed the parade. I had never seen it before. But I think I like Block Party the best. It was LOTS of fun!

He actually loves that hat. It was a freebie they passed out at a basketball game so he actually has 2 of them. And it was definitely the best thing to wear being that cold. He knew it would make me happy too but he HATES me posting pictures of him wearing it

erica bought me that - i'm sure she got it at the disney store in nashville!

I did the Opry Mill's store. I also saw it on clearance but HAD to get it for Dawn b/c I thought of her immediately!!

Thanks! Yes, ALL the Hippo pics were mine. I like those guys and I have never seen one in the water there so I thought that was SO COOL!!!! I took a butt load of pictures of that guy!

Now on to B-ball season!! I like football but I LOVE basketball!!!!!!

My boys beat UMass yesterday pretty well. I'm sure they aren't so good this year but any road win is a good win.

But ..... I was more thrilled to see the Logan's Roadhouse sign!!! You are so lucky, that is one of my favorite restaurants. I went to the one in Myrtle Beach this past year and it's still as good as I had remembered. Yum!

I love Logans also and they are running a GREAT special now! You can get 2 entree's for $13.99 between 3-6 everyday. Awesome food and a good price. Not worth cooking and cleaning for me!

i went to upload video for our next update (which will be posted later tonight) and i totally forgot about some that i took that day! so i wanted to share those videos with you all.

first, video of animal kingdom lodge. this was the first time i'd been here so i was amazed!



next, nemo! i'm not posting the whole show, just a couple of my favorite parts. i love the school of fish that give marlin and dory directions and form different shapes, especially when they form the shape of the sydney opera house when marlin says they're going to sydney.



this is my favorite song in the show. i love the guy's voice who plays crush!



he also sings during the part where the actors come out to take a bow. he was there when we saw it in december too and i was glad because i think he's really good!



and lastly, here's some video of my favorite......the gorillas!

so i figured since i go back to work this week and i'm caught up with typing as of now, i might as well get an update out while i can!

after the parade erica and i left AK, hopped on a bus and headed back to AKL for dinner at boma! i can't remember exactly what time our ADR was for but i know it was close to 5:00. we checked in at the desk in the main lobby for boma and then were sent down the elevator to the restaurant.

wow!!!

not too long after we came downstairs we were approached by some very special DISers who were joining us for dinner.....GLENDA (GMAX) AND HER SWEET MOMMY!!!!!

we were so excited to see them! we both knew glenda from her TRs and i had seen her mother in a previous TR she wrote awhile back. so it was really nice to meet them! they were both so sweet!!!! they had arrived earlier that day so they were just starting their vacation.

we took this picture at some point at dinner and glenda said she didn't like it because it looked like some girl just appeared out of nowhere and took a picture with me and erica! but i think it's cute!

we were seated pretty quickly and i ordered some sort of specialty mojito. i don't remember exactly what was in it but i know it had gingerale instead of soda water and was richer than a normal mojito and it was GOOD!

they also offer a juice which i believe is called jungle juice. erica got that and i think glenda did, too. i didn't try it but i ended up getting it at breakfast at tusker house this past trip and it was good!

our server went over the menu with us - she was really knowledgeable! glenda asked her if she had the peanut rice and she said no and told her what nights they usually serve it. glenda was really disappointed!

here's my first plate:

clockwise from bottom: mixed greens with some sort of apple vinaigrette, some sort of cold cous cous, salad with chili cilantro vinaigrette, and chicken pepper pot soup. the soup was AWESOME!!!!!! i ended up getting a second bowl of it later on.

our second plates - erica's is on the left and mine on the right.

clockwise from bottom (my plate): some sort of meatball thing (i don't remember liking it), coconut rice, cornbread, prime rib with BBQ sauce, salmon with a crust (pistachio?) on it, another kind of rice (can't remember what kind!), potatoes with afritude, either green beans or asparagus (i can't remember which!), another kind of cous cous, grilled veggies. that soup is ginger carrot soup.

my favorites were the coconut rice and the prime rib. it was all pretty good though! erica loved the ginger carrot soup. i thought it was okay but i liked the chicken pepper pot soup better.

at some point during dinner, our server appeared with a plate FULL of the peanut rice for glenda!!!! doesn't she look happy?

i tried some and it was good! i believe our server even got her some to go. how sweet!!! i believe i remember in glenda's TR that the same woman waited on her later on that week.

as we were sitting there talking, i asked glenda's mother, "so do you still hate glenda's hair?" (if you don't know what i'm talking about you should go here and read about how glenda cut her hair off to start growing dredlocks and her mom FREAKED out! http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1922247) when i said that glenda started laughing and her mom goes, "how did she know about that?" i think glenda got a real kick that i said that! i really didn't mean to be funny - i wanted to know if she liked it or not!

time for dessert!!!

clockwise from bottom: pineapple wedge, zebra dome, some kind of creamy thing (i don't remember what it was but i'm thinking it was coffee-flavored), bread pudding with vanilla sauce, a custardy-type thing with a strawberry, and in the middle upside down pineapple white chocolate cheesecake.

i LOVED the zebra domes and the cheesecake!!!!!! they were both so yummy. i figured the zebra domes were hard but they weren't - they were soft and creamy. so good!

our server took this as we were finishing up dinner....

we got up and started to head to the exit of boma and near the lobby i saw a woman start talking to glenda. she introduced herself to me too and it was tiggerbell from the disboards! another dis meet!

we said our goodbyes to everyone and then erica and i headed upstairs. it was so good to meet you glenda - i hope i see you again one day!!!

i really enjoyed boma and i want to take ray there when we go back. he says he doesn't want to go but i think i'll keep it a secret. i think he'd love it!

we stopped at the gift shop on the way out.....a shopping pic for memom!

we headed for the car and drove to the boardwalk. we wanted to check it out before heading to epcot for illuminations that night.

i had never been inside or on the boardwalk before (other than seeing it from the beach club). it was so pretty inside!

i thought these seats outside on the big porch were neat!

we headed over to epcot and decided to head towards france to get ourselves a slushie and wait for illuminations. a photopass pic on the way!

we got to france around 8:00 and we found a table near the water, right next to the kiosk that sells the slushies! score!!!! we decided just to snag the table and relax for an hour while we waited for illuminations. we both decided on an orange grand marnier slushie!

yum!!!!

our flat hubbies were getting thirsty too!

it was SOOOOOOOO humid sitting there by the water. even after the sun went down i was hot. so we both used our flatties to fan ourselves.

i caught erica being mushy.....awwwwwwwwww!

it was nice sitting there by the water, except for the mosquitos. my feet were near the wall and there was puddled water down there and the mosquitos were having a field day with my ankles and legs!

at some point i walked over to morocco and got some pistachio baklava to go. i LOVE that stuff!

not too long and illuminations started! believe it or not, this was the first time i'd seen it. although i didn't get the full effect because the globe was out for refurb. i loved it! it's not my favorite but i really love it, especially the music!

after illuminations we headed back to the boardwalk. so pretty!

we decided to stop by the ESPN club just to look around.

we saw jordan's favorite bartender there!

we didn't say anything though because he was busy.

as we were walking by flying fish i was commenting on how good it smelled and the guy standing outside (a manager, i assume) invited us in just to look around. he encouraged us to look all around the restaurant. it was really pretty! and it smelled SO GOOD!!!!! i'm definitely eating here next trip!

after that we headed back to pop for the night. it was only around 9:45 (early for me, i know - probably for erica too!) so we decided to explore pop a little bit.

erica caught me taking pictures of letters on the keyboard to spell a special message to ray!

mr. potato head's light wasn't working!

we made a little friend near the foozball field....

then we played twister!

we also made another friend! i believe this is the site of one of the few pictures of memom!

after that we went into everything pop and did some shopping. i don't remember exactly what i got but i know i got a keychain, some magnets and some tinker bell stationery. we also tried on some hat wear!

by that time it was around 10:30 and we knew we had breakfast ADRs the next day, so we headed back to the room and hit the hay.

I love your pictures! I am definitely going to try one of the orange slushies at Epcot this trip. I had the Lemon one in October, and it was good, but I think I might like the orange one better. DH says it's a good thing we won't be driving anywhere on our Epcot Day . A benefit of just the adults going because I really don't like to drink in front of the girls.

This trip I'm also making it a point to see more of the fireworks and parades. Anna wasn't really interested in them, so we missed a lot last time. We didn't see any of Illuminations.

It's exciting that you got to meet even more DIS members than you were planning on meeting. I'm hoping to do a meet up this trip, but one of my best friends is someone that I met on a mommy board when I was pregnant with Addyson. We've met up several times (with our kiddos) and have lots of fun together.

I had that Disneyland video link playing as I was getting ready for church yesterday morning. I want to take time to sit down and watch the whole thing later. It was very interesting. Thanks for sharing that. As you take your year or more long break from Disney trips, the Disboards and youtube and live webcams are going to be a big help in getting you through!

I'm hoping Jill will let me borrow their video camera to take on this trip so I can video parades and fireworks and all to share when I get back. Your Illuminations fireworks pictures easily let me picture myself sitting right there by the water watching them.

I'm with Erica on the carrot-ginger soup--that was one of my favorite things when we ate at Boma in April, and I'm hoping that they're serving it again when we're there next month. The mojito and the slushie look good, too!
