Specific Questions for us non-thrill-ride folks

Hello everyone,

We are planning our trip for late May, and I think I will start asking questions here.. so you might hear more from me for a while.

I know you experts can help me out!

Okay, we are not big thrill seekers, as in the big coasters.
DS can be anxious, and neither DH or I just have to ride them.
Needless to say, Mummy, Hulk, Dr. Doom, Dueling Dragons (they are open???), are not on our list.

It looks like many folks here really like the coaster and thrill rides that US/IOA offer... They seem to be at the top of all the 'must do' lists... But I would love some specific feedback about the other attractions.

For example, we want to enjoy the Jurassic Park ride... but I am wondering just how much of a 'thrill ride' the big drop in the dark at the end is. I don't want to scare and overwhelm our son.

We are interested in Jaws, Shrek, Jimmy Neutron, Twister, Jurassic Park, Spider Man, Terminator, Disaster, etc.... Is ET worth checking out???

Which are your favorites???
It might be helpful if somebody could list some of these rides/attractions with a thrill/fear factor rating... from zero for Dr.Zeuss to ten for Mummy.

Just any input or recommendations would be so much appreciated!!!

For the non-thrill rides...those listed are all great and yes...ET is worth checking out.

Of the rides you listed...Spiderman, JPRA and ROTM are the most thrilling. I think your son would love Seuss Landing and the P-Flyers at IOA and the Curious George play area at the Studios.

Jurassic Park: 6, but only for the drop (over 80ft). The ride is smooth and not too scary. The part in the building has the most intensity.

Jaws: 5. 9 at night. It's a hungry shark. Sit in the middle and the shark "attacks" are not as intense.

Jimmy Neutron: 2. Not scary at all. Some bumpiness, but it's all cartoony.

Shrek: 3. Not scary. Some creepy parts (spiders, ghosts), but otherwise very silly.

Terminator: 7-8. The robots are scary looking and there's a mix of movie & real time action.

Disaster: 4. It's all a good setup and you're supposed to scream during it. Watching the "finale" is worth it.

Spider-Man: 3. Not scary. The villains are mean, but Spidy saves the day.

ET: 2. It's dark, and there are some small spots in the first part of the ride can be scary. Other than that, very cute.

Mumy is pretty tame,but I would give it A 9 on the scare zone only cause its a coaster!!

It could probably come in at a 9 for the airtime too, depending on which seat you're in. I just love it when my butt leaves that seat on the drops!
