not sure what this rate code is but it just showed up, I never typed it in, I used a coupon off alamo's site and that code showed up somehow, now sure what it is..........also used the free driver code too, some how saved $100 on my midsize. $136 total with taxes and fees for 8 nights in feb. There are 5 regular size adults and 3 suitcases so we should be fine, we are only in the car to get to A and B. The Mini Van is $200 more so we all might have to suck it in for a few minutes:rotfl:

Please, what was the code number. Did you do a search to see if anything came up about it's status? We are going in January and the rates are still very high.

rate code was byw8, coupon was the $25 off on the alamo site and used the walmart free driver code.

hi. Thanks for the info. I always wondered where to find rate codes. I plugged it into my existing reservation and it didn't budge the price....but I forgot to check if it changed # of drivers. I'll have to go back....

Thanks, I went back and rechecked Alamo and their rate beats National by $150. I can now get an intermediate for $150ish for 8 days. I put in the Walmart code and the $25 coupon. I have 2 weeks to go and am glad something finally came within reach. While I love National, I will gladly use Alamo to save $150.

Thank you so much! :woohoo: That just saved me $13.50. Every little it helps.

Thank you, Moomduck! I had a $25 coupon from Costco, but the $40 Alamo coupon saved me an additional $15 for my trip in two weeks.:thumbsup2

I can't seem to find a rental even close to this rate. All the rates are $500 and up for the week. We are going over President's weekend and the following week so I expected the rates to be a bit higher but this is a huge difference. Any suggestions or tips as to how you got such a low rate would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I have the week after P-week, and these codes don't help then (at least, they don't as I type. 10 minutes later who knows?)

Thank you so much! Your accident saved me $60 over my rental of a full-size with Budget. I got an 8 day full-size for $192.22 inclusive. This is the lowest I have seen yet! :cool1:

Remember, Alamo will often take your coupon, for the wrong size car, and put the notice up, that it's up to you to have the correct coupon for the car you rented. Once you get there and turn in the coupon, it has to be for the car you are getting. If you use the above coupon, and rent a car that isn't listed, you will not be able to use the coupon once you are there. This is the notice they give you:

"You have entered a coupon that may be required to be presented at the time of rental. Please read the terms and conditions of the coupon before selecting your vehicle to ensure your coupon will apply to your reservation. If you are using an upgrade coupon, please select the car category you wish to upgrade from. ".

They sometimes let you rent it on line..but you have to read the coupon..and this particular coupon is limited.

I used the walmart code and the $25 off coupon, and when I went back to check my reservatins, I see that that rate code mentioned is on my reservation, so it either came up when I signed in or came up with the walmart code. It's the same rate for me with or without that rate code.

I need to rent a minivan so the coupon works for me. Especially with the $199 per week rate in FL, that makes it 218.xx for a minivan jan 4-11 with all of the taxes included.

Are you renting in FL or are you renting elsewhere and driving to FL? When we drove to FL and rented a minivan in PA, my deals never came close to the ones that people got when renting at the FL airport.

I found in checking over the past week that using the Costco or Walmart codes from Mousesavers and checking in the evening/night the ressie included the taxes and fee's. Maybe a glitch in the system but I got a Compact from Feb 6th-18th for $170.11 with a $25off ecoupon.

Same thing happened for me while looking for a rental for Jan 23-31. I used the Costco code and it included all the taxes and fees. I was surprised, but knew I qualified for the discounts, so booked it!
