Magical Express and a late arrival?

I'm sure this has been answered before but, our actual flight gets into Orlando at 1130pm from Dallas. We booked aadvantage award tickets so that was all that was available. The res center told me that if we were getting in that late that we would need to grab our own bags before boarding the bus.

Well, we are going to get to the airport extra early and try to standby on a flight that gets into MCO around 845pm instead.

Should we still get our own bags if we make that flight? Is that too late for them to deliver our luggage?

I ask because we have an ADR at Chef Mickey's that next day and we will need things out of our checked luggage.

Do you think 845pm is cutting it too close or should we just grab them ourselves?

Thanks!!

I arrived at MCO one morning at 2 am and yes I just grabbed my own bags... made life so much easier. If you do not want to do that you could just pack what you need in your carryon for the next morning and use magical express luggage delivery....then when you check in tell them to deliver it after 8am or whatever. :goodvibes
If you do make the 8:45 flight you can expect it to take 3 to 4 hours after you land for them to deliver. So it could be pretty late.

Good Luck!

Even if you're gonna get your own bags at bagagge claim, I'll STILL strongly advise you to pack for your morning needs in your carry-on anyway, just in case the AIRLINE delays your luggage.

I pack that way no matter where I fly, just in case. I started doing this long before Disney's Magical Express. It's just a self-protective way to travel. And when traveling to a warm weather destination, that extra bit of clothes takes up very little room.

I had a very late arrival in September around 1130 , I worked the day I flew out and knew I would be tired and didn't want to have to deal with my luggage, so I packed everything I would need that night in my carryon, and let ME take my bags at the resort I told the front desk I didn't want the bags until the morning. When I woke up in the morning I called bell services and about 15 minutes later I had my luggage. It was great and I didn't have to deal with luggage that late.

Listen to Cleve, he Rocks. :worship:
This is the best advice you'll get no matter where you are traveling to. This tip takes minimal effort but you will be very happy you did it when circumstances conspire against you.

No, no, no! It's, "Read it, learn it, LIVE it!". Boy, somebody wasn't paying attention every time Fast Times at Ridgemont High has been on televison... ;)

(and then there's my ex's cousin, who knows every word of dialogue in the movie...)

I'm just going to reiterate this one more time. Seriously. If you don't take another piece of advice you read on this board, take this one.

And, if you're going to have everything you need for the next morning anyway, why not save yourself the hassle of getting your own bags, and let DME get them. Why make a trip to baggage claim if you don't have to? Especially at that time of night?

Yea, I guess I should've Live It in there :)..

Nah, it's okay. It's a little creepy for a 35 (at the time) year old man to know every single word of dialogue from a teen movie :)

I, on the other hand, only remember IMPORTANT lines from films :offtopic:
. . . Nobody puts Baby in a corner.
. . . Big mistake. Big. Huge. I have to go shopping now.
. . . Red means stop, green means go, yellow means go - very fast.
. . . Enough with the fat lady! You're obsessed with the fat lady!
And of course,
. . . Know it, learn it, live it :teeth:
