Sorry, like Hildasmuriel I'm back too although only just back home and with internet access.
Don't think I'll have time to write a proper trippie for a while so here are a few highs and lows:

Highs:
Despite hearing how awful it was going to be we easily got in on Saturday lunchtime, and in fact they were selling tickets at the ticket windows. The only time the park closed to new arrivals was on Sunday 21st for a few hours in the afternoon. Since we were at the Steakhouse brunch and then going in to the Studios it didn't affect us.
The queues for many things were bad, but we had taken this into account and arranged our day accordingly. We got on everything we wanted to, although some things, like POTC, only once.
I do agree that the park is much better decorated at Halloween, and I also don't think I'll be going back again just before Christmas. But it did feel magical, and Father Christmas was just wonderful, well worth the hour's wait. We all agreed he was the REAL Father Christmas.
The Holiday Inn was fine, and no problems with the shuttles either, and I generally don't do shuttles.
We got to meet Hildasmuriel (lots!) and Mummyal.
The christmas market was an interesting extra.
You could actually buy fruit (clementines) in Belle's Christmas Village!
The weather was amazingly mild most of the time.
The children had a large amount of Xmas money to spend so we didn't have to buy them presents using our own money, LOL! DD got Giselle's gorgeous ballgown so i must post a pic of it. Something I would never have spent 70 euros on myself but MIL will love it and DD will wear it all the time.

LOWS:
Not Disney's fault of course, but everything was so expensive.
We didn't see many characters around the park at all, much less than usual except at official meet n greets. Perhaps it was just too full and they would have been mobbed. Since we don't bother with autographs and photos at these scrums it didn't bother me but it is nice to see them. They were still in the studios however.
Too many cigarettes at my children's eye level.
The usual queue-jumping....stopped to some extent by our spread-out queue tactics!!

Overall we had a lovely time and it was a wonderful surprise for the children.
Am rather hoping for a better exchange rate in May though!

Glad you enjoyed your trip. :) And that your DD got a Giselle dress!

If only they did them in my size!

Spread out queue tactics are great! My dad pretends he doenst see queues moving in front of him, just to pee off pushy people behind, very amusing!

The giselle dress is gorgeous isnt it? I really want to get it for Kyra....not this year though lol.

Glad to hear you had a lovely time :)

To be honest I can't believe we paid over practically £70 for a fancy dress outfit. But luckily MIL got her Euros, which were the children's christmas presents, quite a long time ago so she didn't pay that much for it. And it certainly is rather special.

Hello and welcome back :wave2: It was lovely to meet you, eventhough it was only a quick hello! Glad you had a great time. Can't wait to see a pic of your DD in her Giselle dress!

Glad you had a good time. :goodvibes

We've done Christmas and Halloween and although I loved both, I prefer Halloween as it's much more fun ....... and not so cold!! :rotfl:

Definitely Halloween for all of us this year.

I'm with you on the "spread out queue tactics!!!" I couldn't believe (well, I could ) how people would just walk straight past you as if you weren't there. The number of grown ups who knew exactly what they were doing and would push past, it really got my goat.

In the end we would make ourselves as wide as possible and stop them, even when you could feel them nudging against you. And then (this is the wicked part) when they stopped to look at something we would get past them and gain our rightful place in the queue hahaha (nice to know Disney brings out the best in me:rotfl2: )

I don't know, is it because we are British and believe in queuing properly or was it just really bad manners on the part of the people in the park?:confused3

We British do hold queues to be quite sacred, it's true! To me it seems common courtesy not to push in front of people if they are waiting - what give me the right to go before them if they were there first? But perhaps it's just a cultural difference. Not worth getting cross about, just a little quirk of DLRP to be accepted.
