The We Moved To Orlando Trip Report Update 4/12 Trevon's Birthday & East

I've been to Ghost Town in the Skye and it is gorgeous. The chair lift was great. Also been to Biltmore, but it was at Christmas. Would love to go see it in its everday glory. Just the drive once you enter the estate is gorgeous. I've wanted to stay at the resort they have there now also.

Glad to hear everything is going well on your move!:thumbsup2

Earthfaries, For your to do list when you move down, you might want to consider taking the kids citrus fruit picking if they haven't done it before. There is a place on Rt 27 going toward Clermont called Show Case of Citrus. I learned about it on the Disboards and we took dgks last winter and they loved it. Here in NJ they have done apples, strawberries, etc. but the oranges and grapefruits were a new experience. Should make a great homeschool experience also. (My dgks are almost two, five and nine and are hs.) Grammy

I went to Ghost Town back in the late 70's before they closed. It was a very nice day and the views were incredible!

Welcome to Orlando!
:teeth:

wow.. the counter is really going down now.. I cant believe its almost time for you ..you must be so excited!!

Its a good thing you are so organized doing this.. I bet its all a little overwhelming especially with the holidays, but I cant think of a better way to be spending the holidays..

Keep us updated!

I just started in the TA in May and I really like it. It's been slow right now because it's the winter & the economy has something to do with it, I'm sure, so it gets a little boring. But I like helping people plan their vacations, especially when it's Disney of course! :) And nope, didn't have to go to school for it. As long as you have sales and customer service experience, you're fine. That's ultimately what they're looking for. I applied on careerbuilder.com and within a day I got a call back.

Have a great Christmas and good luck with the move! I hope all goes well. I'm sure I'll be checking in before then though :)

That sounds great! I checked that site out, it's neat. Good luck with your new career and have fun helping people book their dream vacations :)

Merry Christmas to you too ~ thanks:)

It really is gorgeous :lovestruc So is Biltmore. The new Inn is incredible too ~ my oldest son wants to go in and look around before we leave if we have time. I have already promised him we would tour the winery again before leaving but we're running out of time! I guess I should get that done:laughing:
Thanks :goodvibes Have a great holiday!

That's neat. I love the history they have at Ghost Town. It opened back up last year, it had been closed for years before that.

Thanks so much for the welcome!!!

I didn't realize Ghost Town in the Sky had closed at one point. Do you remember my posting pictures from my visit there on your TR? ;) I visited back in 95 or so I believe.

Happy Holidays to you and your family Amy. :)

Yes, it was closed for years and re-opened last year or the year before. I hope they stay open , it was always so dead up there when we went, a real ghost town.

Happy Holidays to you and your family too:goodvibes

Amy,

Wanted to say Merry Christmas and congrats again on the move. I can't wait to hear all about it.

Sophia

Hi Sophia :)

Merry Christmas to you and yours too :goodvibes I can't believe it's christmas already!!!!

With all the stuff going on with the move Christmas has taken a back seat in my mind...I didn't forget about it though, it's going to be great! I can't wait, I LOVE christmas!!!

Merry Christmas to three mama's and three angel babies! and all who have been following Amy's thread. Over and out until Dec 26th! Grammy

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! We had a great one, the kids loved all their presents of course ;)

We're running out of time here...one week from tomorrow until the move! Today we're finishing up cleaning the basement and getting ready for our huge moving sale tomorrow. What we don't sell will be taken off by a family who I found in craigs list who sells stuff at the flea market, so that will be nice for us and helpful for them:goodvibes Tons of good stuff down there!

After that we will spend the week painting and just finishing up. I have yet to go through all of our clothes ~~~ we have way too much and I'm not bringing it all!!! I guess I should do that today too so I can put it downstairs for the sale tomorrow...

Anyway, just wanted to give you all an update ~ I can't believe we only have 8 more full days here in Asheville!!!!!!

:woohoo:

Talk to you soon and take care!

Happy to hear you had a great Christmas! I had a good one but it was very tiring. And unfortunately, I had to work today! :sad2: I'm looking forward to the weekend so I can relax.

Yes...I go the parks as often as I can and they never seem to get old...you know? Plus...it's nice not having to pay each time you go if you have the AP. I've enjoyed living here...especially the weather in winter. I'm sure you'll enjoy living here.
