Went to Best Buy the other day and bought a laptop, gave the cashier my Reward Zone card and did't think anything of it.. Today I was looking at my RZ account and noticed that never hit, so I looked at the reciept and it was booked on another card, to a person named Ryan.. By coincidence, the guy that helped me and checked me out was named Ryan..

Will Best Buy work with me here????

I believe there's a place right on the reward zone website where you can file a claim for missing transactions. Or, if you want to go back to the store I imagine they will adjust it too.

I tried to do it online, gave me a message that the transaction was used for another account, or something close to that...

Sounds to me like "Ryan" is beefing up his rewards off other people's purchases!- I would definitely go straight back to the store and have a manager involved at the customer service counter- Good Luck! :thumbsup2

I totally agree!

Interesting.....

I signed up for the RZ when I made a LARGE Christmas purchase. A days/week later I made a smaller purchase. When I received my receipt for the smaller purchase I noticed that the RZ points shown were "0". I kind of put it out my house figuring it would eventually "catch up" but it sounds like I had better check into it! Thanks for the heads up.................P

Ya think???? :)

I called Best Buy, they said they will take care of it, not sure what that means for the employee..

Speaking of Best Buy and the RZ, I bought the 8GB Touch there a few weeks ago ($229)for my wifes present, hid the reciept so she wouldn't find it, now I can't find it. Anyway, their current sale is you get a $50 BB card, but since I used my RZ they can track the purchase and I can still get the gift card...

Something similar happened to me. My husband has a common first name (similar to John or Michael) and his last name is also commong (simialr to Jones and Smith). Apparently, someone with the same last name but different first name moved into our old town and got our old phone number. When this gentleman went to use his reward zone card, he did not have it with hi. They looked it up by phone number. saw the different address, etc and had him change it on the keypad.

A few days later we checked our account and noticed some transactions we did not make as well as incorrect mailing address and name. We had to call to get everything updated and corrected but there sure are problems with the system.

As for points. it usually takes 3-4 weeks for my points to show up from purchases.

It does take weeks for the points to show up - even as pending. We made a purchase over Thanksgiving weekend and at the same time started a rewards card - it still says 0 points over the phone. I signed up for the gamers club to get the Guitar Hero deal (29.99 for PS2) and my receipt still says 0 points but the online one says the points from Thanksgiving are "pending"

The employee should be terminated. And I would go to the store and insist that you speak with the manager. Makes you wonder how many other customers were treated similarly ...

If you have a problem with your Reward Zone, you should call 888bestbuy. The store doesn't have access to your RZ account except to add it to your purchase. They can look up most receipts using you RZ, phone or credit card number. It can take up to eight weeks for points to show up in your account depending on when and what you purchased. You have to wait until the return policy has expired. The holiday return policy is until Jan. 25 so any points will still be pending until after that date.

Hope that helps :)

What ever happen to presumed innocent until proven guilty?

I had the same problem. I bought a computer and everything that went with it. I used my RZ card and a month later discovered it was never credited to my card. They told me to bring in my receipt and they would return everything and ring it back up to add it to my RZ card. After all that, it still did not show up so I gave up trying to get the credit.

I haven't had that happen...but had a different BB issue..

We didn't have a rewards card when we went to buy a whole new entertainment system. The guy at the checkout was excited to sign us up since we'd get several thousand points - nearly $90 right there. So we signed up :thumbsup2 Then he said we should run across the street to the local grocery store & buy gift cards to get the fuel perks too...he held our order while we ran over. Great - we'll get back $90 in Best Buy Bucks PLUS free gas. Sounds too good to be true.....it was. He forgot to mention that if we used gift cards, we'd loose the rewards. :confused3 My issue is ~ why do the employees sign you up, tell you how many points you'll get, then suggest you buy gift cards elsewhere KNOWING you won't get the points at all!

It seems like when I always check out, they ask if I have a RZ card, that day he did not.. But on the reciept, it has a RZ number on there and Ryan's name..

BTW- Ryan is a madeup name..

Yes I had the same thing happen when we bought our lap top and I normally dont do the rewards thing but it was a big purchase during double bonus points week soooooo after dealing with it all for a few weeks it all got taken care of and much to my suprise they ended up giving me extra points above the double that i earned so when it came time for the rewards to be mailed out I had recieved $120 worth of certifcates for them! I was so excited I bought my DH a video game, a fridge filter for the water spicket on our fridge, a new mp3 player and a case and I think something else in there too but those were the main things!!!

It never hurts to call and get things straightened out!!!! :goodvibes

Unless you are using your RZ Mastercard (the only way to get RZ points outside of BBY) to purchase the gas cards, BBY doesn't have a fuel rewards progam. There is a lot of miscommunication in the above statement. Not sure what the employee was talking about.

Sorry - I should've been clearer.

Our local grocery chain, Giant Eagle, sells Best Buy gift cards (Along with many other stores). And for every $50 in gift cards you buy (@ Giant Eagle) ...you get .10 off per gallon of gas at their GetGo stations. So we got nearly $8.00/off per gallon of gas.

It's pretty common around here if you're going to make a large purchase somewhere....to run to Giant Eagle and buy gift cards before you make that purchase. That way you earn yourself free gas while buying things you'd planned to buy anyways. So it wasn't that unusual when he reminded us to run over and buy the gift cards. Since we weren't RZ members before this, we didn't realize we wouldn't get the Rewards.
