How long should Photopass share take???

I came home on Sept. 21st, turned in my codes on Oct. 5th, then the leader ordered the CD one month later. I still don't have my CD!!! Is this normal? It has been SO disappointing, as I hoped to use the pictures for Christmas cards, and for gifts for our kids.

Have you contacted the leader? It is possible the cd they sent to you got lost in the mail? In the share I just ran I got the cd's out within a week of getting my copy. (The delay was due to waiting on the addresses from the members, and the ice storm we had in New England that shut everything down for a while)

No, I'd say that's not normal, but there could be some unusual circumstance that explains it. Is the leader still active on the DIS? Have you contacted them through email or whatever means was used to coordinate things? Have you checked with any other members to see if they received theirs? Hope things work out OK.

Well I went away August 5-13, the CD closed mid-Sept (?) & I just got the CD today where as others got it sooner & the leader never got back to a few of us after many emails.

This is why I would never do a share. You are counting on the leader to be prompt and do the right thing. Sorry, sounds like you may be out of luck.

That happened with the last photopass share I did last February. Wildeoscar was the leader and I wrote and wrote and wrote to him and even though he promised and promised I never received my photos. Some of those pictures included photos from my DIS meet with some ladies and were precious to me, and I was heartbroken that I never got my disk, but that is the risk you take when you do this. I am giving the share a try again this February, but I am still not over what happened to my last share so I will be taking back-up photos this time.

It really shouldn't take that long. I was the leading in photopass share last september. My group was really great. I was a little late getting the CD's out to everyone because I had come down with the flu. I got a CD to everyone but one person. They just are not sending me their address. I can't send it without that.

I got everyones pictures. Were you in my share? I went in August. Your name looks familiar but I could be hallucinating.

I'm the leader of a share. I was one of the last to get back in our group (two of us got home on December 10), and our CD is ordered and should be here tomorrow or Thursday. It will (hopefully) take a day for me to organize the pictures so everyone gets only their pics. That whole chronoligical order threw me, but I think we'll be fine.

I know that this happened to some people, and they were able to have their pictures reinstated via PhotoPass. I know it was a huge hassle for them, though.

I'm the leader of a Dec share going on right now. So if I understand you correctly, after everyone edits their photos, I can put them order so each member only gets their families pics? How exactly do I that? Because right now we're all mixed together.

You'd just have to identify each family/group and sort them out on your PC after you get the CD. There's no way to automatically do it, and the order you see on the online account is the order they'll be in on the CD.

Oh, okay. Thanks for clearing that up! I wouldn't want my poor group to have look at my goofy mug everytime they looked at their pictures.

I am in a share and I leave tomorrow. I have an uneasy feeling about the entire thing because of lack of communication between the leader. I just pre-ordered my own CD just for my own piece of mind.

But once you put your ID number onto the Share account you won't be able to put them on your own account to order that CD. Unless you get a super-nice CM like I got, who added my card ID to a *second* account, when I stupidly re-used a card for my own photopass account 3 months after using that same card for a Share.


OP I really feel for you, and I hope you get your CD soon! Are the people in your share still talking in the thread for your share?

I PM'd another member of our group who also did not recieve it. I have emailed "Sandra" a couple of times and she doesn't respond. She seemed so nice in the emails and messages she did send to us. In the grand scheme of things what would have been another $100?? I just should have done it on my own but I am a trusting person, and this sounded great. If I don't get them by Christmas I guess I will try to enter my codes again and order the CD - now that I've seen the pictures, I can't just let them go!! Too bad this had to be such a disappointment for our family, while she just sits back enjoying her pictures.

You are going to have to contact photopass and see IF they can help. The pictures are only around for a maximum of 60 days, if you wait until the 30th day to enter them then the 30th day after that to order them. So you're not going to be able to just enter them and see anything at this point.

This happened with a share around last Sept too, and people ended up doing a massive amount of cyber-research on this person, who ended up scamming all over the internet. Someone took control, but much earlier than you are in the process, contacted photopass, got a nice CM, and got it figured out (they had to pay again), but like I said, that was much earlier in the process.

Is there only one other person who hasn't gotten them? I would think you need to rally people together to see if something can be done about it.

saylorbunch, I was looking around, and did you notice that your leader lives in Toronto, Canada? That could definitely account for SLOW shipping time, both getting the CD up to her and then getting the CDs back to the share people.
