....so I have organized gifts for them!! With the help of my wonderful little town that is! Question though......I wanted to get the girl 15, something like an Aero shirt or similar. She would never be able to wear anything name brand without this help. But I am at my limit...so it needs to be really budget. Any ideas?? I saw some good deals on their website but maybe I'm expecting something for nothing??
I also got her some happy bunny stuff, make up, b&bw, jammie pants, fuzzy socks....etc....does this sound good for a girl this age?? My kids are younger so doing their younger kids was easy!;)

It sounds like you are doing great!!! If you have an Aero store near you, that would be a great thing!! They usually have a great clearance section that you can find stuff for really cheap!! If you're not close to one, the stuff in their clearance section is great too! Actually, if you find something in the clearance section and buy it before midnight tonight, it will be 30% more off than normal!! Try 30cheer at checkout!:thumbsup2

That all sounds perfect. If you have an Aero near by you can get a shirt for less than $10 and when I was last there they had hoodies less than $20. I think the 15 yo will love all of the things you mentioned.

I think Aero does a huge sale like the week before xmas... I bet if you explained to the manager what you're doing they'll tell you if they are having a sale next week.

Bless you for doing this. This is what Christmas is all about! :thumbsup2

I was just in the store yesterday. They had hoodies for $16.99 and some cute thermal type tops for $12.50. What a great thing you are doing!!

Just a tip. A lot of the time they put the clearance items in the back of the store. Good luck.

One more thing. My niece has the best luck at Hollister. She often finds shirts for $10 or less on clearance.

Good job... you are right on target with the fun jammies, make up, bath and body works and aero clothes... all stuff I bought for my 16 yo DD! Maybe a couple of fun magazines too... all teen girls love magazines like 17, Life and Style...

:santa:

I was in Aero last week and they were practically giving stuff away. I got one sweater, tax and all $9.xx and a hoodie, tax and all $11.xx. Check it out. I was very happily surprised!

Do you have a Plato's Closet near you? They are an upscale second hand store that specializes in the namebrands that the kids want - we don't have a lot of extra $$ and my little sister wanted a pair of $60 Hollister jeans - we found the exact pair for $20. She wound up getting a pair of jeans, 5 shirts, a dress and a pair of shoes for under $40.
They are very picky about what they take, and while it is "used", most of the kids don't seem to mind. The store was packed when we were there, and I think there are several around the country.

Good luck! My Girl Scout troop is going shopping tonight for the family we adopted they also have 6 kids, so I understand the trying to make sure everyone has enough thing!

I second the plato closet :thumbsup2 that was the first place my dd 15 wanted to go - more stuff for the money she sd - I am teaching her well

i also have good luck at marshall's and TJ maxx. in fact TJ maxx had ed hardy stuff this week. my dd is going to plotz when she sees it.

OP, you're doing a great thing for that family!

since everyone is bringing up areo, they have an amazing clearance at the start of october. I bought 4 pairs of shorts for $1 each. Tank tops, sun dresses, and skirts were all $2 each. I spent $28 dollars and saved over $300. Just some info you might be able to use for next christmas (if you do this again!! It's so nice of you!) :thumbsup2

I love plato's closet too! Just be careful about what you buy. I've seen several shirts with huge holes in them before for sale....

Aero is running a great clearance right now. I was able to score some pj pants for $12. (normally $30)

And the tanks were like $6. Check out your local store.

Oh and very very sweet of you for helping them have a nice holiday.

Thanks everyone...I wasn't really looking for a pat on the back...but thanks anyway!;) All started with a pair of new boots and snowballed into their whole Christmas.
That closet place sounds good but we don't have one here. Too bad. We do however have T.J. Maxx and I never thought of that. I am glad you think I did good....LOL....it's been a long time!! The happy bunny will be good too right?? I think he is hysterical (I wear him:lmao: )and so does DD9 but I didn't know! I have to work for the rest of the week but my friend is headed to the mall tomorrow...I'll see what she can score. ANY other ideas?????

It's probably too late but my girlfriend finds Hollister, Abercrombie, Old Navy and so forth-tag on at the thrift shop for her daughter.

Nice of you to remind us what Christmas is all about! I had this discussion with my sister today. She is currently unemployed and feeling badly that she cannot afford to give some people gifts that she would normally give to. I raided my "stocking up" drawers where I collect things when I see great bargains. I was able to help her make up a gift basket for a couple that included gourmet brownie mixes, sauces, candles, etc. I also found a great gift from the body shop for her daughter. She was reluctant to take these things, but I assured her that giving feels so much better than receiving....this way I can give to her, and she can give to someone else....makes for good feelings all around:love:
