I ordered a Vera Bradley bag from the sale/clearance section and when I looked at it tonight I realized I ordered the wrong bag. They got it right, I didn't. Its too big for my dd and I won't use it either. Can I return this since it was clearance? Also, if its returnable can I return it to a store that is close by or do I have to ship it back to them? Im so stupid, I really wish I had actually read the measurements before I ordered.

You should be able to return it to a retail store but they are pretty snooty here where I live so be forwarned they may not be too happy about a return.

You can either mail the bag back to Vera Bradley and pay the shipping or return it to a local retailer who sells Vera Bradley, within 30 days of purchase. Good Luck.

Which one did you get? Maybe someone here would like to purchase it? I know I missed the new colors, I put some items in my cart, got hurt, went back the next day and everything was sold out

They don't like returns because they spend forever on the phone with VB just like us. I just returned a defective purse and the poor woman there spent 30 minutes on hold to get the return approved. SHe was however very nice about it, so much so that now I will be loyal to her store for many years to come. I ended up buying a full priced purse, and two 25% off accessories and I am so eyeballing a big bag for my school stuff! If you are going in to exchange it you will be paying a higher price than on the website since the store markdowns are at 25% and not many of the retired colors are left, at least that is what I found at my stores.

I have 2 teenage girls that would love that purse. Let me know how you do with returns & if you are unsuccessful...maybe we could make a deal?

My store is the same way - they were snotty about it when I inquired about returning something - they did tell me that it can take a long time on the phone with VB to get an approval.

Here's the kicker, I was just there to check out what bag I was going to order online for a lot cheaper. I could have very well purchased a bag that day but because of their attitude and the fact I could save enough for another bag I didn't and just walked out! That is what happen when you get bad customer service no sale.

Everytime I have purchased Vera Bradley the store has given me a slip of paper stating the return policy. Within 30 days, receipt needed, in new condition, etc, etc etc. And I have gotten the same info from 4 or 5 different stores.

Well snooty is a nice way of saying it! I called yesterday to make sure they would take returns before I drove the 25 minutes up there, and the woman assured me they do and was very polite. Well today I walk in there and the man behind the counter rolls his eyes at me as soon as he saw me walking in with the box. So I stroll up to the counter and I say to him, I called yesterday and I understand you do VB returns here. He smirked and said we don't like to do online returns and then just looked at me with his eyebrow raised. I said well but you do take them right? Big sigh and long pause from him. Then with an irritated voice he says well it depends on what it is. SO he opens my box and rips my tissue paper which was still intact with the little VB sticker and says no, no way, we dont stock that color, forget it and shoves the box back at me. He was rude to say the least. I said well I called here yesterday and they told me they would take back my return. He said well yeah we say that but im not taking that back and just basically shooed me away. Ive never been treated so rudely. Anyway, im glad to get that off my chest. Trying to let it go now and not let these little things bother me.

If I was ever treated that way I would stay where I'm at and ask for the Manager and then call VB headquaters with the Manager in front of me and tell them my experience.

I have a couple of things that I need to return and hopefully the store will be nice. The purse I bought is bigger than I thought and the funny thing is that I bought it in the Pink Elephants AND Capri Blue thinking that it was the smaller one :)

I just returned a cargo sling for the same reason, much too big. The woman at the store took it, but was not happy about it because it was a retired print. I think they wouldn't think twice if it wasn't a retired print.

This guy was just adamant that he was not taking it back. He said it was retired and they had not stocked that color in ages and there was no way he was taking it back. I could call VB and complain but I would probably waste 30 minutes of my time and get no where so why bother. It was my fault for ordering the wrong bag, so I guess I gotta deal with it.

I made an online purchase return to our local VB reatailer (Hallmark Store) and the woman was extermely nice about it. I had to wait for what seemed like forever while she was stuck on hold with VB return center. I will definately be shopping there again bc of her assistance.

I had this same experience in Billerica, MA at the paperstore. I was the first to return Vera Bradley but both employees were especially accomodating. I actually spoke to the Vera Bradley call center while there and ordered another bag over the phone.

Oh yeah, it was the cargo sling. Like the pp's it was waaaaayyyy bigger when I got it compared to the 'look' online.

I now have the "On the Go" and its the perfect size.
