Hi everyone, only 6 more sleeps to go before our christmas trip to DLRP and now i'm getting nervous :scared:

1.DD has been up vomiting for the last 2 nights but has been in great form today so far and i'm fighting with myself whether to keep her off playgroup for the rest of the week to make sure she's better and doesn't pick up something else.. what is it about 4 yr olds?? bloomin disease magnets!

2. I've cancelled the shuttle i'd booked and am going to take the VEA for the first time. We're flying in to terminal 1 at CDG - does anyone know how to find it from there??

3. Am sick at the thought of taking DS 6mths on the plane for the first time. Hope he's ok. Does anyone know if there's any limits on the amount of unopened cartons of formula you can take as hand luggage ??

4. Money - the less said about that the better

5. Leaving xmas pressies in the house for 4 days.. keep dreaming that we come home and the house has been ransacked!!! :lmao:

Apart from all that i'm extremely excited!!  Me and DH are really looking forward to this trip - even more so than the other times, even though its for the kids really - no really it is :rotfl:

Sorry, have no idea. We use Eurostar.

6 month old baby on the plane is so easy... Much easier than taking a toddler so you'll be fine. I've travelled with my girls on my own twice and have had to change planes so a direct flight will be much easier.
Re: cartons of milk: They'll ask you to maybe open the carton and try it or they may not even bother.

I'm with you on this one :scared: Really bad exchange rate now!!!

See you there :cool1:

Tell me about it, I have 7 days to go and Im so paranoid, me , DD or DH will get sick.
Or the Eurostar will go on strike.
Good luck with your trip Im sure everything will be fine.

Have a great trip!!

I keep worrying about one of us falling ill as well. Think positive, think positive :goodvibes

And yes, the trip IS s for the kids really ;)

i worried and worried about bottles etc on plane... in the end they were not even fussed.. one way matthew got asked to take a sip of the bottle we had made up.. way back.. they didnt even care... and we had flask and all.. haha... so dont worry too much.

and.. if i was you.. i would prob let her stay off.. if there are lots of germs around.. also to rest.. but then she will miss out on the christmassy things?? hard choice... make her drink loads of orange juice, keep her vit c up, and i am sure be fine!!

STOP WORRYING, YOU WILL HAVE AMAZING TIME

thanks everyone for your support - as ever! DD is feeling a good bit better - she has stopped throwing up and just has a bit of a cough and a runny nose. She's begging me to let her go to playgroup tomorrow so i'll probably let her go. 5 more sleeps :cheer2: :cheer2:

All the Dis mums have identical fears. I had a dream that my youngest got Chicken Pox. I have got my BIL to stay at our house while we are away because I am scared of getting ransacked. I am sticking to a budget while we are there by giving the children their own spending money. I have found that they are a lot tighter when it comes to spending their own money, whereas they are very free and easy with mine. lol. I have flown with an older baby and it was fine. I fed her on take off to stop her ears from popping.

I hope you have a lovely time!:goodvibes

I 'm so glad I found thi thread. I thought I was going crazy and I was the only person who worried about these things.
I'm driving my DH up the wall with the worrying.
I know its cause it all means so much to us.
Lets all go and have a brilliant time!!!!!!!! And try to leave our worries behind!

Hallelujah! I'm soooooooooooo glad to read others have the same fears! My DH is so beside himself that all our stuff will get pinched, we've brought our house move forward two weeks and are emptying our house next week.... so :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: at the thought of any burglars who try to break in only to find nothing decent to pinch! A bit melodramatic perhaps but hey, ... it works!

Wishing all travellers over the :santa: period and beyond, happy trips and safer returns!
