Well after lurking for some time on these boards I thought I better start my own trip report. I suppose most people start with who is travelling on the trip.

Well there is me I’m Ashley, 23, I live in Edinburgh, my favourite character is Goofy and have been to WDW many times (even worked there for a while but more on that later) but have never visited Disneyland Paris before.

My boyfriend is Rob, 26 and originally from the outskirts of Birmingham but moved up to Edinburgh to be with his Princess princess: in June this year and we have lovely flat that looks over Edinburgh Castle. He also loves Disney, his favourite character is Belle, he has been to WDW many times (worked there also) but like me has never visited Disneyland Paris so this going to be a new adventure for both of us.

We actually met while both working for Walt Disney World, he had been out there since the previous December (2006) and I arrived the following September (2007) to start a one year contract as Cultural Representative in Epcot. Working in the UK Pavilion at the Rose & Crown pub as well as the Fish & Chip hut. We sort of got together on a drunken night out but there was an obvious spark between us and he asked me out. We had our first date at the Magic Kingdom, watching Wishes and Spectormagic:love: . After that night we were inseparable and our managers worked our rota so that we could have the same days off. The best experience we had was when we decided to stay a few nights at Animal Kingdom Lodge, we actually felt like guests because we had our key to the magic card and avoided EPCOT so not to be reminded of work. Here is a pic of the two of us from our wee break to the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Unfortunately Rob’s visa expired at the start of December so he had to go home, I was miserable but knew I had to stick it out as my parents, sister, aunt and Uncle were coming out at Christmas to see me. By the time they arrived I was decided that I would return home in January. Disney is completely different when you work for them and I was losing the magic fast so I needed to go home before I refused to visit any Disney park ever again. Me and Rob had a long distance relationship once I returned home but soon he started hunting for jobs in Edinburgh, he got a job with a building society moved in with me and my parents for a total of 7 days before we found our flat in the centre of Edinburgh.

I have just rambled on a bit so I am sorry if I had bored any of you reading but just wanted to share with you our romantic meeting all due to the Mouse.
So back to this trip, our planning started in late September when we both realised that we had loads of holidays still to take before the year ended so we decided on taking the first week in December off. We looked at a few options for holidays, York, London, Barcelona and also Copenhagen (I have always wanted to go to Tivoli) We thought that Disneyland Paris was out of our budget but we had a look at a few websites and found an amazing deal, flying with Air France and staying in the Holiday Inn. I knew this wasn’t a Disney hotel but if we didn’t enjoy it we could always come again and stay on property. So we booked it.

The dates we have booked are the 2nd of December till the 5th of December.

Sounds great I'm there the same time as you have a fab time!:santa:

What a lovely story.

I always thought that if i worked at Disney i would lose the magic, which is why it has never appealled to me.

I hope you have a fantastic time.

Well guys, sorry I havent done a trip report but thats because we never made it to Disney:sad2:

I collapsed at the airport and had to go to A&E, I was pretty shaken up and the airline were really good but we decided to rebook rather than travel when I was feeling poorly. So this trip report will be put on hold for a few months ( we are thinking March)

Well thought I would give you an update..... we have booked to go to the Santa Fe from the 2nd to the 6th of March.

This time travelling by eurostar, with a few days added on. London before our trip (to see the Lion King:banana: ) and then going to my boyfriends parents in Nuneaton on the way back up to Edinburgh.

Really looking forward to this trip, plus it's DBF birthday on the Wednesday when we are there so he is looking forward to that .:cheer2:

so sorry you were ill

but so glad you rebooked!! i have stayed at the santa fe and loved it there. basic but nice at the same time. i am staying there again in two weeks

Excellent, sure you will have a great time and will hopefully make up for your bad luck in December :thumbsup2

So sorry you were taken ill :grouphug: but hey you've rebooked and it won't be long now!

Lovely story of how you both met whilst working at WDW. :goodvibes

Well only 3 weeks until we head off and I am starting to get excited. We have decided on where we are eating during the week

On the Monday we have decided to eat at Planet Hollywood as my boyfriend wants to have his favourite L.A Lasagne.

Tuesday I want to try Annettes and see what its like

Wednesday we have decided to keep open as its DBF's birthday and I think he should choose but he doesn't do forward planning (unlike me:rotfl2: ) so it will be wandering round the park till he see's something he likes

Thursday we are doing cafe mickey for breakfast and then Rainforest Cafe for dinner.

If I had my way we would be eating different things to what we are but it's DBF's birthday plus he had to put up with me being ill last time we tried to go so I am making it up to him :)

Not long to go now!
A lot of people on here rate California Grill very highly for a special meal. :thumbsup2

Well thats me off in the morning. Thanks very much for everyone's tips and information. I will do a trip report on my return

Have a magical time :wizard: :wizard: and yes, we'd love to read your trippie when you get back. :goodvibes

hope you have an amazing time, and how lovley that you met at disney world :goodvibes . hope this trip makes uo for the disappointment of missing out in December, i love visiting in March... only a week an a few days until we will be home again!!!
