Coming out of lurkdom to just say hello. I've read your other TR's and enjoyed reading about all of your adventures. :cutie: Just wanted to tell you that you look fantastic, as well! Good job!:thumbsup2

Bill’s boss has talked to him over and over again encouraging him to start a website design business.

:woohoo: Illuminations is something we've never done before. I'm excited to get to see it this next trip!

Can't wait for more! :hyper:

Oh you have to see Illuminations!! We love it. We love all the night time shows at WDW.

Hi pixiefairy, WELCOME!! Thanks for reading my TR's. Sometimes I feel I am just posting to myself :rotfl: , but it is a good way for me to remember all the wonderful adventures we have had.

Bill’s boss has talked to him over and over again encouraging him to start a website design business.

Hi Maroon and welcome. Were you quoting something from the TR?

Oh Tracy, that sounds like a great night!! I'm so happy that you were able to meet up with such great people. My goal is to someday meet you and Bill! Love the picture of you w/ your GGLS. Thanks for sharing. If you can't share silly Disney pictures with us then who can you share them with? (I promise you there will be some of those on our girls TR I'm writing!)

Tracy, sounds like a lovely night with some great friends! I was able to see Illuminations this past weekend in a way I never have before and it was breathtaking! Gave me chills! Gotta love those GGLCS! So good! :goodvibes

Tracy's back!:yay: I have been checking for the next installment everyday. You do the best trip reports! We won't be able to go to WDW this year. Your trip reports help tide me over.popcorn::

I'm all caught up!

Such a fun DIS meet! It sounds like everyone got along so well. Everyone looks super happy in all the pics!

Oh, Tracy, you and I could do some serious talking about people who don't understand the need to make rope drop at disney world!

Hello!! I was extremely happy that night. Oh the not making rope drop got worse and it drove me insane  .

The plans were:

Monday Oct. 20th, Animal Kingdom Day 1!!!

Expedition Everest for Amy (we will go through the regular line if not too long so Bill and I can see the queue, if it is too long Amy will go through the single rider line, does EE have a single rider line? If she likes it get a FP for later in the day)
Kilimanjaro Safari
Festival of the Lion King
Character meet and greets if we have time
Nemo the Musical (We have never seen it, so we get to experience it the first time with our wonderful buddy!!)
Bill wants to go to Rafiki’s Planet Watch even after I told him Buzz’s review of it
Flights of Wonder
See if we can locate Devine
Pangani Forest Exploration Trail
We plan on having lunch at some point at Flame Tree BBQ

This night we are going to Animal Kingdom Lodge to give Boma one last try.

No rope drop again today.

I took some pics of our windows.

We got there around 10:00am :sad2: . I really wanted to explore AK, I really enjoy it. Here is Bill with Amy at the sign:

WDW10-08220.jpg

We got a schedule because Bill and I were not missing Finding Nemo this trip. Before we even got in the park we were talking about changing reservations around because Bill wanted to go see Wishes again because we were behind a tree the first night so Boma was out. I went up to Rainforest Café to see if they had any reservations for dinner that night and of course they did not. This is why I book ADR’s at 180 days out and try to stick with them. They said we could walk in for lunch so we decided to do that.

We headed off for Everest:

WDW10-08227.jpg

Bill and I were going to go through the queue with Amy, we got some photopass pics along the way. The standby line was something like 20 minutes, we enjoyed going through the line.

Amy asked if I was riding. You know what I said to her don’t you? HECK NO! Well that was what I thought would come out of my mouth, but I said I would do it. I shocked myself. Bill went out the exit and Amy and I got on. OMG, it was throwing us all around, we were laughing and screaming so much. I LOVED IT!! We even bought the picture (This is a picture of the picture):

WDW10-08trip173.jpg

See my chubby self, SMILING during this rollercoaster ride. It cracks me up.

After that we went to Finding Nemo, we cut the time really close and I didn’t know if they would even let us in. We weren’t really in line we were waiting for Amy to come from a smoking area and they had stopped letting people in. I was thinking so close but we aren’t going to make it. About 3 minutes went by and they started letting more people in. We were in the middle in the wheelchair section and had a great view. We all enjoyed it.

By then we were hungry so made our way here:

WDW10-08259.jpg

We checked out the shop and I took this pic of Bill:

WDW10-08249.jpg

He looks like he is ready to go on the safari doesn’t he?

We ended up buying 2 t-shirts. First Bill’s:

Mine:

We got seated right next to this elephant, I mean right next to it so we heard it loudly the entire time we were there:

WDW10-08251.jpg

The waitress talked Amy and I into the Green Python Drink:

WDW10-08255.jpg

I seriously don’t know what is up with my crazy smiles this trip. Before you couldn’t get me near a camera now I look like an insane person when the camera is pointed at me rotf.

Here is Bill with his Mudslide drink, I forget the name of it:

WDW10-08256.jpg

Amy ordered a pasta dish:

WDW10-08257.jpg

I ordered the Cobb Salad, dressing on the side:

WDW10-08258.jpg

There is no picture of Bill’s food because I cut it to shreds for him to eat before I remembered I should take pictures.

After lunch we made our way back through the Oasis and saw these pretty birds, here is one:

WDW10-08261.jpg

We were by the first aid station and Sue in MN from the DIS stopped and talked to us. She recognized Bill, everyone recognized Bill (rotf) She is the sweetest person, I knew she would be. We got to meet her DH and DD. Thank you so much for talking to us.

We decided it was time to take Amy on a safari so we went off to the:

WDW10-08269.jpg

There was no line until right towards the end of the queue. There is a point where we have to go to the right for wheelchair loading. We weren’t there long at all. Here is Bill going on the ride:

I am going to try to take video of him loading all the rides he can stay in his chair for to use on the disabilities section.

As most of you know the safari ride is rough. I have to hold on to Bill during this time or he would get hurt. I never get to take pictures so I gave Amy our camera (hers had died in Norway at Epcot the day before). There were some animals on the road further in the safari so we had to hang back quite a bit on this trip. Here are pictures Amy took of the safari.

Continued in next post.....

This hippo on the right was having so much fun playing in the water, we were sitting still waiting for the go ahead to move again so Amy got an action shot of him:

Amy loves flamingos:

WDW10-08310.jpg

Then oh my goodness we saw the cheetah and the lion for the first time, it was wonderful!! The cheetah is a little hard to see in the pic:

WDW10-08312.jpg

The lion was actually awake and alert:

WDW10-08316.jpg

We turned a corner and had to stop because this was in the middle of the road:

WDW10-08321.jpg

Amy was on the left in the front seat, this was how close the ostrich was:

WDW10-08322.jpg

I tend to think this was the offender that was keeping everyone behind schedule today. I told Amy she was a safari lucky charm, we had never seen so many animals.

By the time we got off the safari the parade was about to make it’s way back through so we decided to watch it. See I can go off my plans, can’t I? Bill and I got a spot, Amy went to go smoke and we started seeing this:

WDW10-08333.jpg

Again the people and characters are drawn to Bill, he has them mesmerized:

People tend to shy away from Bill here in “real life”, but in Disney they seek him out, talk to him, include him. It gets me all teary eyed just typing that (cry). It is one of the reasons I love WDW. He says he feels “normal” there and I am so very thankful for that.

After the parade was over, it was close to closing time but I thought we could get It’s Tough to Be a Bug done before we left, we walked briskly through the queue and made the last show.

Here we are waiting for the show:

What is up with that face? Am I scared of something? I can’t believe I am posting these pictures. I swear I am not a serial killer even if I look like one in pictures.

We took a bus to the Ticket and Transportation Center to catch a monorail to Magic Kingdom. Here is the ramp they get out so Bill can enter one of the cars.

Hold on Bill we are getting ready to take off:

We walked through Magic Kingdom, went to Monsters, INC and then decided to find a place for Wishes. We had showed Amy the Tomorrowland Noodle Station area. That is where we had sat to watch Holiday Wishes last year and decided to try it that night. That way we could sit, eat, and see the fireworks. She went to smoke and grab a table, she told us to go get our food, find her there, then she would go get her food. We went to Cosmic Rays and then found her. She went off to get some food. A nice older couple said that Bill could sit by them during the fireworks for a better view. I thought that was so nice of them. We watched Tinkerbell fly over our heads, saw Wishes, and headed out of the park, we had an early day ahead of us.

Next installment…We receive “Keys to the Kingdom”

Awwwww. Those pics of the parade participants with Bill made my heart sing. And my eyes drip. ;) I always say the same thing about Jon. Once we walk into WDW...his disabilities are gone. And he can just BE.

And for the record...stop poking fun at yourself in your photos. You are one beautiful lady. On the inside and the out.

Although...I'll give you that that ITTBAB photo is sorta funny. You look scared. Or maybe like a shocked person with buggy eyebrows. :rotfl:

Great pictures!

I'm glad you enjoyed us interrupting your tour - it was fun running into you.:cloud9:

Oh, yay! TWO updates!!!

Yes, loved our trip. Went down and met two good DIS friends that I talk to all the time and have never met in person! We stayed at SSR. It was awesome. And we met the some more of our weight loss support thread here on the DIS.

One of those things that just works really well. :goodvibes

Loving the song lyrics, BTW.

Great update Tracy! I am so proud of you for going on Everest - you do look like you are enjoying yourself! It is really nice to see you in so many pictures too - you look so happy all the time! You guys did luck out with the safari pics - great ones! :goodvibes

You did Everest! Good for you! We love it. I'm so happy you are posting pictures of yourself. We love seeing you having fun at Disney! The animal sightings were great. We saw many this time, but not one giraffe! We've always seen giraffes. Not sure where they all were. I think that's awesome that Bill feels so great at Disney. You should go there more often!:lmao:

:goodvibes Great updates Tracy! And I agree, stop apologizing for putting your pics in here! You look great and it's great to see you in some of the shots finally! Love the parade pictures - Bill looks so happy! It sounds like a wonderful day and I can't wait to hear about the next one! :goodvibes
