The Campfire Sing-Along with Chip and Dale. Is this everyday, year-round? Do you need reservations? Any other details, too! Thanks so much!

Also, our trip is Feb.22-Mar 1st. I know the weather in Florida is almost as unpredictable as it is here in Texas, but from your experience, should we be thinking shorts, pants, long sleeves, no sleeves, etc? And should we leave the swimsuits behind, or are there any heated or indoor pools that might be available?

Sorry for the random questions, rookie here.

The sing a long is every night of the year. In Feb and March I would say bring shorts and pants. It can be nice during day and cool during the night.
Or it could be hot during the day or cold during the night.

Enjoy your trip

Wooden benches facing a stage along with a small 4-5 rows baseball stadium seatings...behind the benches. Some folks bring their own chairs and blanket. Campfire over to the left side of the stage. Singer/story teller and characters and sometimes a movie afterwards popcorn::

They sell hot dogs, popcorn and items to make smores, there also.

Beware of sticks with flaming marshmallows being used as sword fighting amongst the little ones. :scared:

Just to add to the other comments, no reservations are needed. Bring your own smores stuff if you like. Cushions for the bleachers and or blankets can be nice too.

Yes, the pools are outdoors but heated. Being a Floridian myself-pools in Feb./march not going to happen for me.;)

Bring your camera if you have little ones-Chip and Dale make an appearance. if you forget the smores or a beverage-the Chuckwagon sells hot chocolate, smores, coffee for your viewing pleasure.

You can always bring a blanket to sit on for the movie (those benches aren't comfy after sitting for awhile).popcorn::

Thanks for all the info, guys! Can't wait for yummy smores! They're a must on every camping trip for us!

Technically, you have to be a Disney resort guest to use their transportation, and you could be asked for your resort key by the bus driver. I have never heard anyone asked for one though. You don't have to show id to do the campfire. I'd say go for it, there is almost no way you could have heard of these restrictions without asking the question.

If you are driving to Ft. Wilderness, then you need to park in the Overflow lot, (the sign says Hoop De Doo, Backyard Barbecue, etc.). There is no guard shack there. Do not enter where it says Campground Checkin.

From that parking lot, proceed to the bus stop, and take the first bus that comes along that says "Settlement". It could be Orange Settlement, Yellow Settlement, or Purple Settlement. Then you need to get off at the bus stop for the "Meadows Area". From there it is a short walk to the campfire.

To return to the parking lot, return to the bus stop you got off at, and get on the first bus that comes that says "Outpost". (either Orange, Yellow, or Purple).

Then get off at the Outpost stop, and walk back to your car.

We went the 1st week of March 08. T-shirts and pants were the order of the day.

Be prepared for wet weather. It rained for at least 2 days (heavily, like TX downpours) so take several pairs of comfortable shoes per person because you don't want to wear them wet next day :scared1: Even DH, who only owns like 4 pairs of shoes in total, was glad I packed him an extra pair! I also recommend a stash of cheap throw-away ponchos from the Dollar store as the Disney ones are expensive to kit out the family!

We had one really cool day, and it didn't warm up like it had on previous days, so by 11am I was freezing, and we shelled out $$$ for Disney jackets/sweaters for all. Oh well, get to take them again in March 2009!

Enjoy your trip!

Can I just ask as it seems like a lot of you have been to this before, in April/May is the campfire on at 7pm or 8pm?

Thanks

The time changes with daylight savings time so when that happens it will go to 8pm.
