Hi Everyone! :wave2:

I've been a lurker and occasional poster on this board and am proud to say that I can start dabbling in some planning while I wait for my ring to get here. It should be shipped out on Tuesday and *hopefully* here on Wednesday. I dout BF will be able to hide it or keep it from me...at least for long anyway! I've been too excited to sleep since he ordered it last week.

I've been sometimes covertly and sometimes overtly planning our DFTW for quite sometime now. So, here are the rough details:

Escape Wedding
Theme: Petals & Pixie Dust (there's a story-I'll get to it)
Location: Wedding Pavilion
Flowers: Roses
Transportation: Vintage Rolls<-changed...going with stupid limo to save money b/c it's included...but that means more events! 7/31: I want the Rolls..not the limo. This sucks.
Special Guests: Mickey & Minnie
Photo: Either Randy or Roots <- Haven't gotten that far yet as of 12/8-Misty is a strong contender...2/4 I think I'm going with Misty...5/19 Spoke with Misty. Nelio is sending the paperwork!
Video: Starfruit Productions...if I can get DF to agree to the video.

Can you see...I've been reading quite a bit! So, thank you to those past and present who have helped me compile this list! I just have a few things to really narrow down.

I am very excited about all of this but I'm trying to just take one step at a time since I am finishing my bachelors, doing a full time internship, trying to work some, and not loose my mind...However, if you come across it please return it!

I will warn you now that dress shopping for me is going to be very stressful! My mother and I don't shop well together. AT ALL. So, please bear with me when we get to that point.

Luckily, all 8 guests have been notified that this is a Disney wedding and we haven't gotten any slack on that! (This was my WORST fear!) The replies have been "we figured" and "just tell me how this all works." The best response came from BF's g-ma who said if they were still around then they would try to make it. :rotfl: This is so totally her and I love it!

Next up: How we met

BF was supposed to be my field training officer while I was a student. I threw a fit about this! Just based on his picture I thought he looked a little scary :scared: So, I ended up training with someone else. The readers digest version of the rest of the story is this...I officially met him around the station we worked at and we became friends.

I was supposed to meet a guy I was dating at a local bookstore for coffee and ran into Bf in the process. (The other guy never showed up!) We had a shift Xmas party to go to and I was looking for something to wear. He spent the afternoon shopping with me and just having a great time in general. I should have known then, but we continued to hang out as friends and before I knew it, we had our first kiss. It's been history ever since! 7.5 years worth of history-but worth every moment! :lovestruc

He is truly my best friend. He's the first person I think of in the morning and the last person I talk to at night. He's my first phone call when something good happens-or something bad, and I am his. I'm really looking forward to spending the rest of our lives together and what ever that might hold.

Welcome to the pjs! Cute story of how you were scared of him! :rotfl2: It all works out one way or another!

Thanks Everyone! Even though we have been together for 7.5 years our engagement was wonderful! Very us! :lovestruc *giddy*

I will take sometime this weekend to post the story of our engagement. I want to take my time with it. :surfweb: I'll figure out how to post pics too.

Hi Everyone!
So, as I've mentioned, DF and I have been together 7.5 years. There was talk about him not actually proposing but just handing me the ring and saying something like, "here" which I wasn't too thrilled about, but just to be his was good enough.

I knew the ring had been ordered. I approved it and we both agreed on it-which was difficult, but in typical us type fashion we discussed it, debated over it, researched it (him more than me) and even fought over it...Needless to say it was a long process...but I knew it had been ordered and when it was shipping out.

DF wasn't certain that it had shipped out b/c he had not received the confirmation email saying it had shipped with a tracking number. So, the morning it was supposed to arrive, he called the store we had ordered from and asked what the deal was. He was told that they did ship it out, gave him a tracking number, and were curious as to why he didn't get an email b/c it should have been sent out. So, they resent him the confirmation and before it made it to his inbox the ring had arrived! :lovestruc

Now please keep in mind...it had been a long day...a really long day...I spend 8.5 hours at an internship site with crying screaming kids....I'm wearing scrubs and it is cold and snowy where we are...and he locked the top lock to the apartment. Now, this wouldn't be so bad...but the top lock sticks. So, here I am, tired with an arm full of bags, trying to get in the door...and as I finally open it, the first thing that comes out of my mouth is "f*^$#r" We get a good kick out of this (long inside story) I also see the Fed Ex box on the floor. :goodvibes

We bumble some sort of conversation and he tells me to sit on the couch. Ok...So, I get comfortable. He goes into the bedroom and comes out with the presentation box that the ring comes with. He sits next to me, takes the ring box out. Gives me this short but very us type speech and swivels around onto one knee and asks me to marry him. I took in the moment and said yes and he slid the ring on my finger

Needless to say, it was worth the wait and I'm glad I knew it was coming. It let me focus on remembering the things he said and answer yes right away! The whole thing was perfect for us! :cloud9:

So, here we are...taking baby steps in planning...since I do have to finish my internship and one more semester before I graduate. It will all be worth it and I am looking forward to every moment and being a Disney Bride! :bride:

Ok-Except dress shopping with my mother..I love her and cherish her...but we don't shop well together...Can anyone get me a valium...I might need it...

Ah thats so swwet. And good luck dress shopping with your mum :thumbsup2

Thanks! I've laid down the rules...I won't try mermaid or sheath dresses on and no dresses with bows on the bum. I don't want to look like one of Cinderella's step sisters :rotfl: I told her I would try on anything else-even if she liked it and I didn't. I'm hoping that will ease things up a bit. She's been great so far about the whole thing. We will see!

Ok so I have to tell you...Trying to get a pic of my ring was a bit difficult. I messed with the setting on my camera, lighting, the works...and this was the best I could get! I love it!
