Two weeks from today we will be somewhere in the Carolinia's right now on the way to WDW.:cool1: We can take the truck and comfort over the G5 because it looks like the gas prices are as good as or better than last year. Would have never guessed it after this summer. It is so needed from all the stress in our lives this year, go to the house of the mouse and forget about everyday life for two weeks.

I'm really looking forward to it because it looks like the last one till the economy straightens itself out again. Construction is slowing down big time around here, everyone seems to be waiting to see what is going to happen. A bunch of projects have been put on hold, if I make it through the winter I'll be happy. A friend wants me to go to Calgary, says there is a ton of work and with my experience I could find something easy but it's to far from family and ....................................... the mouse:laughing: .

Countdown is on for us too - or for dh and I as the kids don't have a clue that we are going :cheer2: still managing to keep the secret!!

4 weeks from right now I'll be taking a tour of the resorts or visiting downtown Disney!!:santa: :cheer2:

Are you going to be there for the actual holidays?
It's great you are keeping the secret, it will be priceless to see their faces when they figure it out.

Starting to worry about forgeting something. Can't believe it's just around the corner.

My Ds and I begin our month long vacation on Nov.28/08. We fly out of Bangor and to Ft. Lauderdale where we will stay in Hollywood , Florida on the Strip in an ocean view room. We stay there for three days before going to Miami for a 5 day Western Carribean cruise to Key West and Cozumel, Mexico. Next it off to Walt Disney World from Dec 5th-29th!!!!!! We are staying at the All Star Movies from Dec 5th- 18th and then over to Port Orleans French Quarter. Sadly we come home on Dec 29th /08:sick:

Just 13 days left or 7 working days!!!!

Everyone have a great vacation and Happy Holiday Season. God Bless

Lucky you! We went drove down in August when the gas prices were in the $3.80/gallon range. If we drove down now, our gas expenditure would be cut in half. But for us four, driving down was much cheaper than flying, even with this summer's high gas prices.

Now, we're hoping that the gas prices go down in Canada. We cancelled our annual summer trip to Québec to visit family because of the extremely high canadian gas prices. We're looking forward to heading north in 2009.

In case you're interested in monitoring the US gas prices before your trip, check out this website:
http://www.orlandogasprices.com/Price_By_County.aspx?state=FL&c=usa
You'll know where the cheapest gas can be found and which states to avoid when buying gas (New York).

Have a nice trip!

No we will be there from Dec 13 to 16 - just a quick 3 night/4 day trip to do MVMCP and 1 park day in Epcot to see the Santa's and CP - plus I noticed my free 1 day comp tickets are PH so we will hop over to DS at some point to see the osbourne lights quickly!! Then resort touring and a golf game - thankfully I got some great flight times - we arrive at MCO at 12:30pm so we get most of the day and our flight home leaves MCO at 7:30pm so we're golfing the day we leave!! We are also celebrating my ds' 9th birthday while we're there - he asked for a trip to Disney for his birthday - it's on Jan 10th and never manages to be a 'big deal' with it being so close to Cmas - so I really can't wait to see the look on his face when we check in and he gets his birthday button!!

Can't wait to surprise the kids!! Will make our December so busy but oh so worth it!!:santa:

How do you go for a short stay? That would drive me nuts, I would need at least 7 days:laughing: Maybe you should play hookie and tack a few days on;)
The Osbourne lights are worth the detour even if you have seen them before, it is amazing how they do all those lights, control them and put it to music. Have a great mini vacation BBM.

ahhh it will be torture leaving but will be a nice 'quick' break - we did a 4 day weekend in May of 2007 too and it was the best Disney trip we've ever had - we really took time to stop and smell the roses which we'll hopefully do this time too.

We've never been at Cmas before so are really looking forward to it!!
