Best week in May

I recently booked the 4/3 deal for the 2nd week in May and now I am doubting my choice.

I have had a couple wonderful people tell me May is a great time to go.

I am curious if any of you that have been in May could suggest which week is better for best weather, lowest crowds and most importantly AVOIDING LOVEBUGS.

Would it be April 25-May02 May 02- May 09, May 09-May 16, May 16-23 or May 23-May 30.

We've been the first week in May twice and loved the weather and never saw 1 lovebug. I'd pick April 25-May 2 or May 2-9 (I think this would be lower crowds). Good luck!!

We went during May 16-23 this year and had a very fun trip. No love bugs, pretty manageable crowds with proper planning, and very tolerable temperatures with sprinkles of rain here and there. We got out just in time before the Memorial Day crowd showed up.

We have been twice before in May and are returning in May this year. The first time we went the week before Memorial Day... hot but ok, crowds did pick up as the week went on. But very managable.

Last trip in 2006 we went the end April/first May week. It was great. Very warm but tolerable, no rain, crowds werent too bad. i loved this week. It was less crowded and fewer school groups than the first trip.

We didnt see lovebugs either time that I can recall.

This time we go May 9-17 as they worked better with everyone in our party, but if I could choose I would choose the week before!

Last May we went May 10-May 17 and stayed at the BC. We had wonderful weather, low crowds and pretty much a perfect trip.

This year we are going May 16-23 and staying at the POLY. I am a little worried about the crowds being heavier as we are getting closer to Memorial Day. Does anyone have any experience with this week??? I'm wondering if we should have done the week prior-too late now though, already booked the airfare.

we've gone the week before Memorial weekend several times...thought it was a great time to go. Crowds are not too bad (so many schools on east coast/south are still in sessions until after Memorial weekend.) We did always use the early EMH & were able to get 10-12 major attractions done at MK before noon (we do NOT stop for any characters, though, and don't do the character meet & greets...that would seriously slow us down too much When we want character interaction, we schedule a character table service meal.)

Weather is usually fairly nice...May is just before hurricane season, so you can get some hefty thunderstorms, but they are usually the pass-very-quickly variety. Definitely hot enough to swim & do water parks (mid-80's at least.)

We always visit WDW either the 1st or 2nd week of May and it is our favorite time to go. We have always had great weather and I've never seen a love bug. Crowds are always managable, we never wait more than 15 min for a ride except Soarin'!

We went from April 26-May 3 last year. It was awesome. Not too busy, great weather, decent prices.

Definitely a good time to go!

I dont recall having long waits (this was in 1999, so awhile ago that we went that time). I do remember the weekend of memorial day that things really seemed to be getting busy... Friday of the weekend was much more crowded with longer lines, but still nothing like summer. I think you will be fine!

If we do go on our planned trip (keeping an eye on the economy..argh), then we will be there the last week of April-early May. We live in S. Florida so it is only a few hours away. The weather is SO nice that time of year. I am also looking forward to less crowds.

We went last May the second week and it was great!!! The weather was really warm, and i only seen a few lovebugs, they werent a big deal at all. The crowds werent too bad either....overall I thought it was a great time to go!!!

We will be there May 5-9 on a band trip (the trip is actual May 4-10, but we will be in the parks 4-9). My daughter's band is marching in the afternoon parade at MK on the 6th. I've been in late April before and considered the crowds low to moderate. I'm hoping the first week in May will be even better, since all the spring breaks will be over and it's still a little while until school is out for the summer.
