Ok so I just booked the 4 nights/3 free deal.
I booked for ASMus for 7 nights/8days, 7 day base tickets for 8 people, 4 adults, 4chidlren. The total with trip insurance came to $3182.56 I personally feel this is a very good deal for our family size especially considering the amount of time we will be there.
Well I told the family and my DH reaction was why didn't you do a moderate this time around? Last and only visit was ASMov so I guess he was looking forward to an upgrade. :confused3
I haven't called back yet to find out what the price difference would be but I am thinking about doing it. My question is I don't know which one to choose. Last visit was had DDP and water and more. We were hardly ever at the hotel except the very first and last days and to sleep.
I asked the CM and she said that I could add anything I wanted to down the road.
My thought was to just to the basic plan and see how things are financially and then do the add on's.
Now with DH reaction I am condsidering upgrading to a moderate, forgoing the park hopper and water parks and just spending more time at the resort this time around. I will however proably add the QSDP regardless of where we stay.
What do you think.
Stay at value music, adding water parks, park hoppers and QSDP or upgrade to moderate, add QSDP and forget about hoppers and water parks??
We have only been once and I have no idea when or if we will ever get to go again at least no where in the near future....
kids ages 18,17,16,14,&11

Congratulations on your trip!!! :cheer2:

I think both of you have a great idea with the ages of your children. Some of them are old enough to hang out by themselves and amuse themselves while you rest. In your situation, I would probably go for POR mansions without the ticket extras. It is an awesome resort!!! Relaxing but with lots to do!! The food court and Boatwrights have great food too. The boat ride to DTD is a great way to spend a few minutes and will also keep your older children occupied for a while. The younger children might want to fish or hang out at the awesome pool! There are quiet pools too in case you had rather not be swimming with everyone.

The good points about the way you have it booked is that you picked a great resort for teens!!! My DS18 and DD17 and DD's BFF love AS Mu!!! They like to walk around and take pictures of each other for their myspace pages. Also, if you do stay at AS Mu and get the ticket extras, your children will have access to Disney Quest which most teens and tweens love. I love the Cheesecake Factory there!! :rolleyes1

Either way you go, you are going to have such a great time!!!

Well, I think you have a few choices to make. You might want to go to Disney's website to see the choices that are available for your dates. You can add and subtract the options you are considering to see what they price out as well. All 4 of the mods have plus and some minuses going for them. 1) CSR has just upgraded to queen beds and offers a southwestern theme. It is also slated to be completely rehabbed by Oct. of next year, so depending on your dates you may get a new room. Maybe people on this board love CSR - check out Buzz2001's website as he has great photos. 2) CBR has recently renovated and offers a carribean style theme. They also have new pirate rooms and offer slightly larger rooms than the other mods. 3)Port Orleans Riverside and 4 ) Port Orleans French Quarters (sister properties) have lovely grounds and offer boat transportation to downtown disney. You can also sleep 5 in a room at this resort.. What did you like best at the resort you booked. Maybe based on your preferences more recommendations can be made to you!

Well last trip was our first so we were running non stop. we had the hoppers, waer parks and the DDP so we were on the go the entire trip. We aslo flew last time which this time we are planning to drive that is still a ? as the airfare may change our minds, that is what happened last trip.
Anyway I was thinking that if we do one park a day instead of many and even if I was to add the water parks we could say hit one park in the am, hit somewhere for lunch at our leasure, water parks for awhile and then back to whatever park we started the day with. This seems like more then enough things to do. There is always downstown which we did go to last time but we only walked around we didn't do anything else while we were there cause honestly we didn't know what to do? lol:confused3
I was thinkning that it would be really nice this trip to spend a little more down time at the resort, use the pools and arcade things like that.
I also want to spend some time touring the other resorts as we didn't have time for that last time either and that is something that I personally really would like to do.
I actually called Disney last night because due to the fact that my oldest is 18 they have her name holding 1 room and me the other. The problem with this is that I am afraid that although they have us requesting adjoining rooms they may not put us that way due to her being 18 this time around.
Now I am thinkning that I should forget about everything and book a villa which totally defeats the purpose of booking this trip and saving money.
I feel like I am making myself sick & crazy.:rotfl:

ok I just went to Disneys site and priced Old Key West.
The grand total for the same package I have booked but obviuously at the villa at OKW came out to $4,800.00.
Now I am thinking if I book there I won't need hoppers or water park.
I can always add dinning if I decided too but I wouldn't have to because at least there I would have a full kitchen.
What would you all do?////:confused3
I am so confused!:scared1:

We have done PH and WPAM add ons and only used the PH when we stayed at BC to go to EPCOT since we could walk there easily. It takes time to park hop and when I'm at WDW, there is too much to do to spend it on the bus or boat;)

Personally, even if I had the kitchen, I wouldn't be cooking on vacation. I would bring breakfast foods since that would be cereal, pop tarts, etc and usually do carry snacks and breakfast foods on most trips just in case. I just don't cook while on vacation. If my family wants something cooked to eat, I'm sure they can find something at one of the restaurants close by. I do think that if you are not opposed to cooking, then that may be a good deal for you but that is quite a bit of money extra.

Your smaller children (and probably the older ones too!!;) ) would probably love the new TRex restaurant at DTD. It looks like loads of fun and I can't wait to go there!!

WDW does try to accommodate the room requests and unless the resort is just too packed, they will put you together. Even if you had to wait for one room to be cleaned, it would be better than not being beside each other. I would just ask at the desk when you check in to be sure.

When are your travel dates?

We have older/younger children. A couple of times we've had connecting rooms (a common door between them) and a couple of times, we had adjoining rooms (side by side, right next door.) Either way, it worked out fine for us... the girls liked having their own room.

Ok just got off the phone with another CM , only the third one in 3 days not bad right? ;)
So I called to cancel my reservation because I was so undecided what to do and guess what? Not only did I not cancel but I upgraded to POR.:lmao:
Don't ask me how the heck that happened but lets just say that CM was really good at her job and convinced me that cancelling was not in my best interest. I was an am getting a great deal for the amount of people I have, which I already knew but for an extra $600 bucks I was able to upgrade to a moderate which is what the DH really wanted in the first place so that should be good news to him, at least I hope so.
Anyone have any info about this resort. I asked CM what she thought about upgrading, was it worth it and all that and as you can see she thought so.
I also asked her thoughts on which modertate to choose for my family, kids ages, things to do and see,ect and she has worked with WDW for 10 years and told me she has stayed in every resort and POR was her favorite. :wizard:
Being the push over that I am I went with her on this and that is where we are now booked.
What do you all think? Anything I should know about this resort that she perhaps didn't mention?
Our travel dates are 5/29-6/05:woohoo:

Wow! Great for you. POR is my favorite, and you will love it there. You can also walk to POFQ and use the food court. It is just so peaceful and relaxing. And last time we did the fishing hole with my grandson, who really enjoyed it. Be sure to take time at the resort just to walk the paths.

Oh I think POR is a great choice. Not only do you make your husband happy, but I think it's a great resort for the mixed ages of the kids you've got. There's a lot to do at the resort, plus easy access to DTD for the older kids to go on their own.

Definitely take the time to visit other hotels. It's really a blast. I haven't stayed at all the hotels but I've visited just about every single one of them and it's really fun. We try to take a break in the afternoon heat and if we don't go back to our own hotel, we catch a bus to a different hotel just to eat and walk around. It's an easy way to see the different hotels.

I priced the upgrade from value to moderate and I'm pretty sure the difference was $249 for my family of 3. I'm waiting to hear from AAA to see if they can offer me a better deal than Disney with my airfare and car rental.

I also think POR is a wise choice. Only place my family members want to stay anymore! (we don't do deluxe) When my kids were teens they loved it there and still do. We went to Typhoon Lagoon once in 11 visits to WDW. Guess we aren't a water parks family. The quiet pools at POR are more to our taste. You can always get a water parks day ticket once onsite for any family members that might want to go. Park hopping, IMO, isn't worth the extra money. Staying at POR is!!!

CSR!! I love CSR for the atmosphere, great CM's and the deluxe-lite feel. CSR offers a spa, salon, full menu room service and fitness center not to mention a terrific main pool area and the best transportation that is not shared with any other resort. It's like taking two vacations in one. Queen beds too!

I agree totally!!! POR is an awesome place to stay!!! DH says that is his favorite resort!! It is so relaxing and so much fun!!!

Congratulations!!!!

 You guys are the best! I wasn't sure I made the right choice even though CM assured me that I was, now I at least feel good that you all think I made the right descison. :thumbsup2
I ofcourse have been looking up information everywhere I can on POR and it seems to be a favorite too many Diser's.
We were actually suppose to stay at CBR last year but canceled and I don't want to get any flack for not booking there instead and with all your imput I am sure I made the right choice.
So happy, now before I pay deposit, we are booked for friday 5/29-fri 6/5,
Memorial day is the Monday before, would you move the reservation? :confused3
I never even thought of this until I seen someone else mention it, don't know why I guess it was because I was too busy making myself nuts.:scared1: lol

I wouldn't change it. If you can skip MK on Saturday, you should be fine. That seems to be the busiest day.

Have a great time!!!
