I have read a couple comments regarding the rental of Cabanas at GF. I tried to do a better search for info (including the official disney site) with no luck. Any details would be appreciated.

We were there in April and rented the cabanas 4 days out of 9. They are great. The refrigerator comes fully stocked with water, soda and juice and they also give you a fruit basket as well. There is a tv as well as a radio. It also has a small table and 2 chairs inside the cabana. You can close all four sides of the cabana for privacy if need be. There are normally 2 cabana attendants that take care of whatever you need. You can rent it for a 1/2 or full day and they have your name on a stand in front of your cabana.

Thanks great information...what is the cost of the rental and how do I secure one?

Check out the GF FAQ thread -- there is lots of good information there about the cabanas, plus lots of well-informed people to help you!:)

Here is the cost back in April. Not sure if it has changed but to us it was well worth the money. We had the concierge schedule ours but if my memory serves me correctly, you can call 407 WDW-PLAY. I don't know if that's the number where you can reach the marina at the GF but that's normally who makes the reservations. Happy planning.:wizard:

Here is more info that I found for you from another GF thread here on the DIS posted by Alicnwondrln.

Hi! We rented one during our July trip and the above info is correct/ or was in July! :rotfl: It was great for us, we really enjoyed it! We also ordered lunch and it came very quickly and was very good! We have rented a cabana on 2 different trips and will plan to on the next trip as well! :goodvibes Enjoy!

When I stayed there I tried to rent a cabana. They were booked for our stay. The front desk did tell me that 2 out of 4 cabanas just have the chairs and small table. They are free and are on a first come, first served. I used it one afternoon and it was quite and delightful. Check it out if they are already rented.

The cabanas are terrific. They have upped the level of service and they have also recently been redone with new furnishings.

Here are some pics from a couple weeks ago.....

OMG they look fabulous. I love the color of the chairs.:thumbsup2

How early do you have to call to reserve one? 180 days? 90 days? 30 days?

Might do that on my birthday or at least once during our trip and want to make sure I call when I am supposed to!

They changed it now....they charge for all 4 cabanas. As of now, there are two for reservations and then two are walk up reservations....the walk up reservations are the same rate as the other two, but they don't have all the amenities. I know they don't have the TVs...not sure what else is missing. THey also swapped them. The cabanas 1 & 2 are farthest from the pool store - they used to be for walk ups, these are now the reserved cabanas. Cabanas 3 & 4 are used for walk up ressies.

CoachBagFanatic,
they are wonderful!:goodvibes You get assigned a cabana CM that waits on your every need.:rotfl:

I am waiting for the rates to go up. I know they will.;)

Living the WDW Dream
.....you can reserve 90 days out max.

Happy planning,

Lives4Disney :)

OMG...I want one sooooo bad. Its my luck I will reserve one and it will be cold and rainy all day! Oh well its worth it if it turns out to be nice!

If its raining just stay in the cabana and watch tv! LOL

We are renting one at least half day if not a whole day! 90 days out I will be calling :D

My first post.:)
But something just spoke with a CM about- I called last week about an ADR for Jan 21-Jan 25, and because we were staying at the Grand Floridian - she offered a reservation for the prices mentioned in the thread - $60 half day. Apparently very popular, and great for my two boys. So of course I bit!:rotfl: My luck it will be too cool to enjoy that day!
