Upgrated from CR to GF & DH Upset

Thursday when the 4/3 was anounced I called to change my CR ressie and was told CR not available so I upgrated to GF. DH upset because he liked the idea of walking to MK if he wanted too. It looks like CR is available now (dont know why). Should I change for him? We have never stayed at either....help!

If it's available and you don't have your heart set on the GF, then I'd switch back since it seems to be very important to your hubby. I will say that my dh and son prefer the CR to the GF simply because of the decor and atmosphere. Now, if it's still not available, you can give your dh a choice: either save money and stay at the GF or spend more and stay at the CR. Good luck!

If CR is avaiable and your husband was really looking forward to being able to walk to the MK and you do not care either way then book the CR.

Stay with GF, he can just ride to the next stop and be at MK. You will not regret it!!

I would go with the Contemporary because it sounds like your husband really wanted to stay there and I don't think you want him staying somewhere he does not want to.

I am trying to come up with some pros to out way the walk to MK from CR...but I dont think the bath robes are winning him over..HA HA

We like the GF. You can take the monorail or a boat launch to the MK from there.

Things that I like better about the GF:

-- very nice lobby to sit in and listen to music
-- much quieter than the CR
-- the pretty gardens you walk through to get to the pools/rooms
-- the huge "quiet" pool that never seems full
-- the feature pool with the waterfall and waterslide.
-- the beach, where you can sit in the evenings and watch the castle change colors

If you were booking CR in the tower with the MK view, then I would switch for him. If you're booking the garden wing, I would go with the GF. It's not as formal or stuffy as some people think it is!

CR has construction going on right now due to the new DVC tower, and I find the concourse area very loud so that might not help with the quite factor.

GF has a great quiet pool and feature pool, Cabanas you can rent to enjoy at the pool.

I booked the GF for May with the new promotion and for what we are paying there is no way we'd be able to stay here later without it so it was a no brainer. While the CR if we did a split stay we would be able to do so for us CR could wait.

I love the GF but they are both great resorts. I dont think you can make a bad choice.

I vote for the walk to CR. It is really great for when you leave the MK and do not have to stand in a line for the monorail or boat back to GF. Also the CR is a better hookup for the monorail to EPCOT. {change at the very next stop] That being said both resorts are a pain for getting to AK or DHS. Hope you have a car for those days.

Actually since both Resorts share bus service the Contemporary happens to be the 1st location where guests are picked up and dropped off. So it might make taking the buses alot easier knowing that fact.

We've stayed at both resorts and love both. Out of all the times that we've stayed at CR, we've only walked to MK once. It's a longer walk than you would think. After that first jaunt, we've taken the monorail to MK ever since. So from a getting there fastest perspective, the GF's next monorail stop is MK. The CR stops at Poly and GF before MK.
