am wondering if you think fort wilderness campsites will be included in the special offer coming out at 5pm today?

From another board:

This isn't official yet - but we hear this will be released at 5:00 pm tomorrow and we don't want you to miss out! Here is what we've heard:

For every 4 days of tickets - you get 3 days free!
If you book your trip between January 4th and March 29th, you also receive a $200 Disney Gift Card to spend!

*****Book between November 6th and December 20th!*****
Travel between January 4th and June 27th!
Travel between January 4th and March 29th to include the Disney Gift Card.
Travel between March 29th and June 27th to include the discount, but not the Disney Gift Card.

I would love to get in on this deal. Why wouldn't everything be included??

I'm just made I can't call first thing tomorrow. We're going to see a deaf rescue dog that needs a home.

I just checked out the buy 4 get 3 free online, the campground is not listed as participating, just the cabins. :sad1:

I'm on the phone with CRO right now, getting it applied to my existing clients' reservations. Unfortunately, so far, it's not available with the campsites.

It's only good with packages too -- not room only reservations. So, those of you with APs will not be able to take advantage of this. (Well, you could, but why?) ;)

If anyone is interested in getting a reservation at another resort, or in the cabins, with this special - feel free to click on the link in my signature!! :goodvibes

I just got off the phone with Lindsey NO campsites available under the special for March, April and May and the first part of June....this made me so SAD!!!!Goodness what a bummer!

what about the latter half of june for the campsites? this really isn't fair to AP holders OR DVC members....oh thats right, they have US coming down without incentive!!!

I didn't have her check the latter half of June so I don't really know about that, she just checked the latter half of March all of April and all of May and the first two weeks of June.

 It because the Fort is so special that it is the special. :confused3 Oh who am I kidding we got screwed.:headache:
That's really the truth even the girl on the telephone said that she couldn't beleive there was nothing and the special started at 5:00 and I was on the phone at 5:15 and was willing to do March, April, May and June to get the special rate...if I didn't always travel with my dog it would be alot simpler but he's part of this family and I needed a campsite special.

pluto: paw: :dogdance:

I think the reason is that there is no reason for Disney to give incentives for the campground, because it's always full!

This special isn't because Disney wants to be nice to people. It's to fill rooms! They don't have trouble filling the campground!

Once upon a time, long, long ago, in a Ft. Wilderness of yore...they used to give great discounts at the campgrounds. That was because they could not fill it up. This was a time when any day of the week you could just drive up to the FtW check-in without a reservation, and get a site. This was also the time they limited your stay to 14 days.

There was also a time when you could only stay at FtW 9 months in a calendar year. I'm thinking this regulation has been done away with because I know of two sites that have been occupied by the same people for over a year now. One is on the 1200 loop and the other is on the 300 loop.

Now, they occasionally give AP discounts or Fla resident discounts, but those are far and few between.

Since the 9/11/01 tragedy, camping has become a preferred way to vacation for a lot of people and the Fort appears to be a destination of choice for many. Just look at all of us on the board and in reality, we are a small minority of the people who camp at FtW.

in a way, this is a GOOD thing because i'm afraid instead of incentives to fill it, if it wasn't doing so well, they would just clear it out and put a stupid hotel or another DVC on the grounds. that would be a real tragedy.

I was able to take advantage of this special and got a week in a cabin with tix for a great deal. We love the Fort and but have never stayed in the cabins, hope were not disappointed! Does anyone know about the cabins in the 100 loop? Can you request cabins?

You can request a loop, not a specific cabin. You can try for loop 100 but it's a long shot, I'd have a 2nd choice noted on your ressie also.

As usual..... campers get hosed when it comes to specials and incentives.

Yup, kinda sucks since we are paying the same as folks staying at the value resorts especailly for those of us now paying for Premium sites.

DITTO--maybe we could revolt. Do you think if we sent many many emails or all took the surveys it would change anything--I seriously doubt it. Let's face it--it's all about the money.

CRO just told me the campground is always full so that's probably why it is never included in specials.

It really isn't fair.:sad2: :sad1:
