Cruise Tips and Packing Hints (long!!)

You can use ANY magnetic strip card for the safe...just have to use the same one to unlock as you locked it with. We used our Kroger Grocery card and kept it in the sock drawer!

Thanks for posting. This was a positive post, with lots of informative items. I especially enjoyed the beach tips. We have a DS3, who won't be old enough for many excursions.

You no longer need a card KTTW or otherwise to open the safe. You have to use a 4 digit code. Now the problem will be remembering what the code is:rotfl2:

good luck getting into the safe after the martini tasting LOL :rotfl:

21) Take your kids to an Ocean Quest Open House. Ocean Quest is generally the club for the pre-teen crowd, but every day they have Open House hours, but you have to stay with the little ones. It is a cool spot, with video games, board games, coloring, and the ship simulator. It is a “helm” with one whole wall of giant video screens, and your child can “drive” the ship! It is very cool, and my DS(3) wanted to go there every day for the Super Mario Cart video game.

I have a question about this one. Where exactly is this? We're going on the Wonder in March, and I wondered if this place still existed. I don't see anything about it on a navigator... Do they still do an Open House?

Although, I'm wondering if I should even tell the boys that it exists, lol....they might want to spend more time there, lol.... :yay:

It only exists on the Magic - not the Wonder - and that is why we will never get to take a short cruise until my youngest is too old for ocean quest - he will be 12 on our next cruise.

On The Wonder, Ocean Quest is tucked away in the Oceaneers Lab. As a consequence I think that it is only available to the "Lab Kids"

These tips are great! Thanks so much for taking the time to write these out and share them.

Cheers,
Kristin

Great tips....maybe I missed it but don't forget an extension cord if you have a c-pap machine.

OP mentions bringing pirate clothes for pirate night. How piratey do people (particularly adults) actually get? I ask because DH and I have some pretty elaborate costumes that we'd love to wear pirate:, but I don't want everyone to think I'm completely nuts. Although, they'll probably figure it out anyway... :rotfl2:

Dear FanofFigment,

(Whose fandom I heartily share!) You will see the full range on Pirate Night. Mainly, the kids dress more than the adults. However, you will see adults dress up. I'd say the majority wear costumes that look like your traditional "halloween costume in a bag." There are some who dress quite well. If you WANT to dress up, DO IT. The CMs will LOVE you for it. It is Your trip, enjoy it as you wish!

While I haven't hunted, I'm betting that there is more than 1 thread all about pirate night to whet your appetite.
