40% off code-chances of another? free dining?

Hello,
I was emailed a 40% off room rate for dates in 2009 (must be booked by April 2009.) I'm feeling sad because I don't think I can afford to go then, but maybe in 2010. Has anyone received this type of email and not used it, but then received another in the following year or so? In the meantime, I'm giving thought as to how I may afford it I've read about free dining offers - can anyone tell me about that (ie., is there a certain time of year the offer comes out? Do I remember correctly that it's usually for the fall?

If memory serves, the past few years free dining has been offered in the fall. This year it was again offered in the fall, but I believe there was also a promotion on for free dining during some dates in November and December.

We took our first Disney trip this past April. I started making plans in January (it was kind of a last minute decision to go and we only had 3 months to plan). I received a 20% off code in February but the dates were no good for us so we ended up not using it.

I never dreamed we’d be lucky enough to get another code (especially in the same year), but then October 27th I received a 40% code! Now, like you, we’re desperately trying to find a way to afford to go back again next year.

I suspect with the way the economy is going Disney will be offering a lot of discounts to ensure people keep going.

Fingers crossed for 40% PINS for those who haven’t received one, and for the exchange rate to improve so we can all enjoy Disney again real soon

I received my first pin code and was able to use the 40% for a room at the Poly for Nov 09.( saving about 900 ) I am hoping for free dining but read on another thread that you cannot combine discounts. I hope too that Disney has more offers due the economy.

40% off at the Poly is a greater savings than Free Dining.

I got the same PIN and used it for the Poly too ... can't beat a monorail stay for little more than $200/night! Hadn't planned on a trip, but I can't pass that one up!

It's completely random. However, you can try and sign up for everything Disney you can ... online at the disney website, any contests they run, Disney Movie Rewards membership, Disney Insider subscription, or DVD planning request. I've been "members" of the above for well over a decade, and this is the first pin I've ever received. Needless to say, I din't think twice about using it.

Just as an FYI, pins are non-transferrable. Only the person's whose name is on it can book it.

The same thing happened to us! We weren't planning to go to WDW this year but got a 40% code in March and couldn't pass it up. We went 2 weeks ago. It was a great trip. When we got home and checked our e-mail we were stunned to find another code for 40% off room. We are hoping to return in November. The dates are actually perfect because my DH B-day falls in that week so we can also take advantage of the birhday promotion next year. I hope we go. I don't want miss out on that offer. I just wish it was transferrable so others who would be able to go could use it rather than it just going to waste
