Some of the car rental companies offer free shuttles to/from the port. We've used Avis in the past and it has worked great. Not sure which others offer it. I know National doesn't (that's who we normally use at WDW).

Budget is the other company near the port with free shuttle.

I think the question was MCO to Port Canaveral and back. :)

There are rental cars (you can pick up at MCO and drop off at the Port and vice versa), or limos. Or town cars. Lots of options depending on how many in your party, your budget, etc.

Yeah sorry I wasn't clear in my response. When we have flown down we've rented a car at the airport and used it until the morning of the cruise then dropped it at Avis and took the shuttle back to the port. After the cruise DH picked up the shuttle, picked up the car and then came back to get me and the luggage.

Thanks Karen for making it clearer and for KarenNY for reminding us of who the players are as far as shuttle.

I know it is early but I was wondering if any one be interested on doing a Fish Extender exchange. The reason it is called fish extender is you hang what you want your little trinkets to be put in on there. These are right out side the room. Please let me know your thoughts.

*Fish Extenders – We will be putting little things in them through out the cruise. Like, Paper, Pencils, stickers, playing cards, pirate things etc. To do this I would compile a list with Room Numbers and names and hand out at the DIS meet on Ship. You could PM me this.

**Fish Extender Gifts - This can be EVERY day or you pick a day to distribute all your gifts. There really is no set rule for gift-giving, it is up to you as to what and how much you want to give... each to their own accord. It was allot of fun to come back to are room and find something there. It also gave me a chance to see parts of the ship I never saw in the previous cruises.

We're in!

For anyone who hasn't seen one this is an example of a fish extender:

This is a pre-made one. Others make their own or buy them off of ebay. Some have even just used a gift bag and decorated it. It is just fun to exchange little gifts.

Thanks for all those to responded to my transportation question. I'm thinking the cheapest way is going to be renting a car at the airport and then taking shuttle.

I'm in but I am a newbie at this so I may need some coaching.

OK, now that the cruise is booked, I have a few questions since I am almost a newbie. I have been on one DCL cruise before but that was in 2004 and 2.5 years before I found the DISboards.

Yes, I have bookmarked the website! Great job on the website. OK here are my questions:

1) The CM at MS did not ask which dinner seating I wanted. How do I find out which one she assigned me?

2) I have a Castaway Club card from my first cruise. Does it give me any advantages?

3) What other things should a good DISer know?

We are staying at BCV prior to and after the cruise. If there are a lot of people who will be staying at DVC prior to the cruise, I don't mind chartering a bus. We did this for SSMC06 and we had a blast!! I think it was Mary and Mark who even made sure there was toilet paper for the onboard bathroom! :rotfl2:

1) You can go to the DCL website and see what your dinner seating assignment is.

2) You should get something special in your stateroom for being a Castaway Cay Club member

3) Check into this thread as well as Mark & Mary's site.

Fish extenders: we didn't have one for our member cruises but gifts were still left for us. We had one for our cruise in October and there weren't a lot of people that participated but that was okay since I was in a wheelchair and DH had to help me make all of the deliveries.

1 - As Annmarie said check out your listing online at www.disneycruise.com use the confirmation number you got when booking and you should be able to see your booking and what seating you have been assigned.

2 - As a castaway club member you can book Palo and any excursion at the 90 day mark. Those who haven't sailed DCL before book at the 75 day mark. Also you will get a Castaway Club gift in your room and you'll be invited to a Castaway Club party onboard.

3 - Stay an active poster on this thread and get to know everyone. Ask any questions you have. If you want some insight into past DVC cruises check out out website here: http://monorailgreen.info/DVC.html

Ahhh - the DIS party bus. We had a great time and yes I did have an emergency roll of toilet paper. :rotfl2:

Currently I plan to be at AKV on the night before and a couple of days after the trip. So if you end up chartering a bus, please count me in. It will save me a rental car.

Excellent thanks!

Ok How many threads do you think will be closed because of all the posts?

I say we will have 10.

I will keep tack if any one wants to guess and who ever wins will get a little prize at the DIS meet.:)

I think that would be fun. What do you all think?

hmmmm - I've been on some pretty chatty threads. Put me down for 4. Of course if we only have 3 and we get close to cruise time I just might close it and start another. KIDDING!
