Just booked a great rate on a flight to WDW Dec 5 thru 9. (Only $102 RT from BUF) Then I found out it was Pop Warner week. Not really worried about the crowds as it's just two of us going to relax and enjoy the Christmas theming. But, I can't get a room. No kidding. Every resort except GF (which we don't like) has come up as unavailable.:headache: What's going on? I've even looked off site, it's the same story. Anyone have any brilliant ideas? If the Dis can't help I know I'm really in trouble.

Keep calling. Once the teams are set and rooms taken, they will release those that aren't being used.

Not only Pop Warner, but Disney released a free dining offer for that time frame

No, the free dining is not for that week. That is one of the most popular weeks, and it includes Pop Warner and Mousefest this year. As well, it is also at the time when the Christmas Parade is being filmed for Christmas Day. Most people are reaching their 45 day mark and some will be canceling, keep checking back.

The Pop Warner teams don't have their qualifying games until the last weekend in November, so they won't be booking their rooms until the first week of December. The last day that teams can book their rooms (depending on their exact date of qualifying) is December 6th. Kind of a bummer for those wanting to book a room during that time.

To the OP, I found LOTS of availability off site for your dates.....lots and lots.:thumbsup2

Check AAA. I went to my local AAA website and plugged in your travel dates and almost all the properties popped up w/ availability. I checked a value (ASMu), a mod (CBR), and a deluxe (BWI) and they all had rooms that you could book.

Beware of the AAA website, it will look like those dates are available, but when you actually try and book, it will come up unavailable or to call. Their website is very misleading.

I just cancelled a room Dec.4-9 at the Yacht Club. Maybe you can try for it. Good Luck... some rooms will open up at the end of Nov. when all the Pop Warner teams have registered.

My friend is a CM and told me that the first two weeks are booked up, mainly with a lot of people waiting for the announcement of when the Christmas parade will be taped. She said that there are people who have BOTH weeks booked and will wind up cancelling once they know a date.

I dont know if you can go later but I got my parents a room at all star sports on dec 12,13 and 14th two days ago....

It seems to me that there are a set number of teams going to WDW, so the number of rooms needed shouldn't vary too much from what they are holding.

Try the Swan or Dolphin. Those hotels have great prices for that time!

So true. I needed a room for 12/6 and AAA website here in Florida showed availability at values & mods, but when you try to actually book the room it shows errors & doesn't book.

On the bright side......I kept checking the Disney website & rooms popped up at POP for 12/6, so I called right away & managed to get a Florida Resident's rate for that night. No availability at the other values, though & nothing at moderates. Keep calling. I was doing that every other day plus checking the website & thankfully something came up.

Good luck..............:santa:

Thanks so much for the encouragement. Those of you who mentioned the problems with AAA were right. I had no luck there. Since it is a spur of the moment trip (at least by MY Disney planning standards) I'll keep my fingers crossed and keep trying. We'd really like CBR because of location and price.

OKW has some 1 BR's available on those dates. Also, don't forget the Swan & Dolphin!!

I would keep trying!

We will be at WDW from the 18-23 of December. We had originally booked the Contemporary but wanted to switch to the Poly. I called over and over and there was no availability. Then one day, I checked the website and it was available. I booked it immediately and cancelled our other reservation. I was really not hopeful since everything seemed so booked up, but we got a little magic!

Keep checking back!! It's definitely worth it.:thumbsup2

I thought the date was set already as the first weekend...is there hope it will be the 2d? Did your friend mention if the people with double bookings are trying to be there or miss the parade?

Yep, I agree with you. I'm sure the number of teams that attend every year is pretty consistent. The only variable from year to year I can think of could be the number of Pop Warner parents/families going along.

When I talked to her 1 1/2 weeks ago, she said that the official date hadn't been released, but it was going to be either the first or second week of December. People were booking both weeks hoping to be there for the parade taping. I honestly don't know why people would go to such trouble to attend, but that's just me. :confused3
