Best way to buy a one day/park ticket?

I was going to post this on the trip planning forum, but I wanted a Canadian "perspective". ;)

I have a friend who will be going to Orlando on business and he wants to join me at Disney for a day. What is the best way for him to buy a ticket? He will be meeting me at Disney 3 weeks from today. Is it a good idea to buy it at the gates of the park we'll be at? or will it be too busy at rope drop? Can you get a deal through CAA on a one day ticket? I've never bought a one day ticket before, at least not recently.

I seem to recall your only option for 1 day is at the gate. I always buy 10 day no expiry since I know they will be used to feed my addiction.

CAA sells one day tickets but they are not discounted. My understanding is that there are no discounts avail. on one day tickets. The advantage to buying it ahead at CAA is not waiting in line to buy it at the gate. It is an activated ticket purchased not a voucher.

littleflounder: I have two, one day passes if you would like to buy them. I think they are actually hoppers as well. I had some old tickets from our honeymoon and I turned them in. We bought annual passes and they do not give a credit, just another ticket for what is left. It says "1 day remaining park hopper exchange"

Let me know!!!
