Live from WDW, Nicki & Todd do the F&W and 10 days worth of food!!!

great food pics from the F&W festival :goodvibes I love the cute little bottles of Tabasco sauce :)

Loved the review of the etouffe -- are you planning on trying the other LA samples later in the week? Those mini bottles of Tabasco are too cute!

Hope dinner was delicious!

Like Trixiequilts said, I am saving my money for CL!

Count me as another person who you "convinced" (and boy you really had to twist my arm!) that I need to try CL. You should see if you can earn a commission!! Love the F&W pictures. I am so excited about being there on Thursday I can hardly stand it!!!

Remember Nicki - MAI TAI!!! (and the floater of 151 on top really makes it too!) :rotfl:

Girl I had 2 tonight, they are amazing and the Pop Rocks exploded all over the place!

:cheer2: Yeah! You liked the Austrian food! :dance3:

Like it I LOVED IT! Going to try the goulash next.

First of all, I'm going to save my money so I can do CL at AKV next time! Just like Charleston Princess, right CP?

Is that pretzel from Norway different than it used to be, or do they have a different one with almonds on it? Were there were raisins in it? I can't remember. It may have been you that told me last time, too! :rotfl2:

That school bread just does not look appealing to me anymore. It just looks burned, and I don't care for caramel. I guess I can cross that off my list.

I am a spoiled brat now, I want to try all the CL resorts but I know my desire is stronger than DH's wallet :rotfl:

There was an almond covered pretzel too but I dont care for almonds. The one we ordered had very few raisins in it. I loved the old schoolbread but DH is heck bent on trying the new one.

Sounds like a great day (except for the broken cappucino machine :sad1: ) The brisket in Vienna sounded really good popcorn::

Thanks for the answers on the Jiko filet and mac & cheese. DS is only 11 1/2, but he loves  filet. He was very happy to hear the wine sauce could be served on the side and thinks the mac & cheese sounds really good. I think I've created a monster :lmao:

Can't wait to hear about Fulton's, I've never been there :guilty: Have a great night and feel free to have a mai tai for me :drinking:

Well the cap machine is still broken! ARG! The mai tai's at Fultons are incredible!

What are the hours for the CL.. is it all day or just certain times... ?

At night they seemed to have liquor.. I am a wine girl.. any wine?

They do have wine but we have not had any yet. They are open from 6:30 am and close at 10pm. They have different hours for different food choices. We are eating breakfast there again tomorrow.

Yes I want to try the seafood gumbo thing and the praline bread pudding, too much food too little room in belly!

I think WDW should give all of us Disers half off on deluxe CL rooms at all times!

I've tried both versions of the pretzel from Norway. I preferred the one with the almonds. The plain one seemed like it was lacking something. I now know it's the almonds that make it tasty! The schoolbread is awesome! Having never tried the old version, I have nothing to compare it to. Everyone in our family loved the schoolbread. You should try it. Try the pretzel with the almonds...it doesn't taste very "almondy" (is that a word?) :)

Back from a night of dining and shopping at DTD. The weather is gorgeous, nice and cool and comfortable, no humidity! DH is loving my research to death right about now, can you figure out why??

We arrived 30 minutes early for our dinner at Fulton's and were seated right away. We were on the main floor with a water view from one of the high top tables. Our server Chris was excellent, he has been with Fulton's for 10 years next month and if you guys go please ask for him, he is fantastic. Also for you AP holders do not forget that you can get 10% off dinner entrees.

This was waiting for me at the table.

FWMonday084.jpg

DH stuck to bottled water.

FWMonday074.jpg

I started off with a Mai Tai (thanks trix!) and it was wonderful, so wonderful that I had to have another one! They put pop rocks in it and they blow up all over the place!

FWMonday077.jpg

FWMonday079.jpg

Chris brought out some lavosh crackers and a crab dip that is housemade daily and the lavosh is made daily too. He also brought out a recipe card for it. This was fantastic, very creamy and wonderful!

FWMonday075.jpg

FWMonday076.jpg

DH and I shared a caesar salad, Chris was kind enough to have it split onto 2 plates for us. Awesome crisp greens, homemade croutons...perfect!

FWMonday080.jpg

FWMonday082.jpg

Then he brought out a loaf of hot sourdough bread and butter, very good stuff!

FWMonday081.jpg

DH knew he wanted crab but did not know what kind, Claws only, king crab legs, snow crab or stone crab. Chris explained it all to him and DH went for the King Crab Claws with whipped yukon potatoes. This humongous plate of crab came out, the claws were as big as my hands! They were amazing, so much dense sweet meat, DH was in hog, I mean CRAB, heaven. The potatoes were a bit dry but they had great flavor. He did share his crab with me and it was very very very good, I loved it as much as he did...nice and sweet and tons of meat in each claw.

FWMonday029.jpg

I thought I was going to get a fried shimp or something dish but nothing was on the menu so I was a bit perplexed...thought maybe I would get the sauteed shrimp. Chris said they can make anything I can think up so I said how about fried shimp and Maine lobster tail? He said of course! I had the veggies of the day which were garlic sauteed butternut squash and string beans. For being fried the lobster tail was super light and not greasy at all. The meat was very good and cooked perfectly, not stringy or chewy, just perfect and sweet and wonderful. I had 4 large shrimp and gave DH 2 of them. There were awesome! I cannot tell you what a wonderful dinner this was! The string beans were nice and crunchy, just how I like em. The squash was to die for!

FWMonday030.jpg

Now the entire time we are eating there were 3 older ladies behind us and they were so funny, must have been in their 80's and enjoying seafood and tee many martooni's. When they found out it was my birthday they sang to me and had the entire bar singing to me, lots of people were there by this time. I was as red as a beet!

Chris brought over this special treat. It is not on the menu and is reserved for special occasions. A very light chocolate cake with a raspberry compote filling, dark chocolate raspberry ganache and raspberry coulis on the side, fresh whipped cream on the top. OMIGOD I was in heaven! It was so light and wonderful and not as rich as you would think.

FWMonday031.jpg

We had a fabulous time, watched the sun set, had DH thank me AGAIN for finding us such wonderful places to eat! It was great! I highly recommend Fultons, if you love seafood you will love this place! Did alot of shopping around and such...next up is a TON of pics of Goofy Candy Shop.

So after dinner we shopped a bit and ended up at Goofy's Candy Store before getting back on the bus. DH and I decided to get a few dipped pretzels as a snack for later.

FWMonday043.jpg

Here is the dipping menu

FWMonday035.jpg

FWMonday039.jpg

We decided on 3 pretzels, I picked milk chocolate with Reese's peanut butter cups and caramel drizzle. DH picked milk chocolate on his 2 with sprinkles on one and Oreo's on the other. Guess whose is the best?? Yes mine! He wants to go back and get more!

FWMonday087.jpg

As we were waiting for them to make our treats I went picture happy in the store.

As much as I would like to , unfortunately I can't take credit for recommending the exploding Mai-Tai. :rotfl2: Actually, it was luvpooh. But I'm really glad you liked it! ;)

We made our way back to our resort and I really needed a cup of tea so we went back to the CL lounge. We were the only ones there because it was close to 10pm when they close. DH had milk and snacks and I had a cup of sleepytime tea. The cap machine is still broken and DH is a bit ticked on that....I mean come on in all of WDW you cannot find a new machine??

Here were the treats they had out tonight. Look at all those Zebra Domes that no one ate!

FWMonday040.jpg

FWMonday088.jpg

So that is all she wrote tonight, tomorrow is breakfast at the lounge again (might as well take advantage of it!) and then off to MK. We have lunch scheduled at Tonys and Kona for dinner. Hope we make it to both of them!

Maybe I will have to take a bite of his then!

I TOTALLY agree! I'll sign that petition! :)

Ok lets get one rolling!

Sorry! Thanks luvpooh, you got me hooked! Did you ever have one trixie? They are soooo amazing. I learned after the first one leave the pop rocks in the pack! I had them stuck all over me! One was in my hair.

No, but they sound fun! Maybe I'll put that on my list, too...:scratchin

Okay...I can finally stop sweating and wondering and sweating and then wondering some more if your DH loved Fulton's. I am so glad that you both had a terrific dinner. I am always leery of recommending places, but this is just one of our all time favorites. I look forward to reading more reviews to see if you find some place else for us to try next year (besides the two you already have us trying :worship: ).

I can't wait for more! I keep praying that our December trip is a go!!!:goodvibes All this food is making me so jealous!

Wow Nicki, how did I not know this was going on? I am all caught up now though so bring on more food!
Oh and happy belated birthday!
Remember to try the pink fizzy stuff at WS this trip!

Loving your trip report. Although it makes me a bit sad. We were supposed to go this year but had to cancel due to health problems. But next year we are not going to miss out. Happy Birthday! Again, thanks for the food porn. BriarRosie, did you write a trip report? You attended an event we were supposed to go to and I wanted to read your report too.

The exploding mai tai is definitely going on my list! :thumbsup2 And I may have to invent a special occasion so I can get some of that cake!!

DARN!!!! DS would LOVE the crab at Fultons... I'm glad it was a good meal! Makes me want to change the schedule around again... (but I won't.) Maybe this is a go for next year too... DD likes shrimp and lobstah!

I'm gonna have to snag me one of those peach schnapps smoothie tea thingies... Maybe after dinner at CMC, you can direct me to the booze??? :thumbsup2 (since it's EMH at Epcot that night...:) )

Ah, this time tomorrow DS and I will be on our way to food heaven! MMMM!!!! (just about 23 hours til we leave!!!)

Lovin' the report so far! I can't wait to hear what you think of Tony's. That CL looks great too. How convienient is that!?!?

So glad you had a magical night Nicki! We're going back to Fulton's for the first time in 10 years in a few weeks, can't wait!:thumbsup2
