Back from a night of dining and shopping at DTD. The weather is gorgeous, nice and cool and comfortable, no humidity! DH is loving my research to death right about now, can you figure out why??
We arrived 30 minutes early for our dinner at Fulton's and were seated right away. We were on the main floor with a water view from one of the high top tables. Our server Chris was excellent, he has been with Fulton's for 10 years next month and if you guys go please ask for him, he is fantastic. Also for you AP holders do not forget that you can get 10% off dinner entrees.
This was waiting for me at the table.
DH stuck to bottled water.
I started off with a Mai Tai (thanks trix!) and it was wonderful, so wonderful that I had to have another one! They put pop rocks in it and they blow up all over the place!
Chris brought out some lavosh crackers and a crab dip that is housemade daily and the lavosh is made daily too. He also brought out a recipe card for it. This was fantastic, very creamy and wonderful!
DH and I shared a caesar salad, Chris was kind enough to have it split onto 2 plates for us. Awesome crisp greens, homemade croutons...perfect!
Then he brought out a loaf of hot sourdough bread and butter, very good stuff!
DH knew he wanted crab but did not know what kind, Claws only, king crab legs, snow crab or stone crab. Chris explained it all to him and DH went for the King Crab Claws with whipped yukon potatoes. This humongous plate of crab came out, the claws were as big as my hands! They were amazing, so much dense sweet meat, DH was in hog, I mean CRAB, heaven. The potatoes were a bit dry but they had great flavor. He did share his crab with me and it was very very very good, I loved it as much as he did...nice and sweet and tons of meat in each claw.
I thought I was going to get a fried shimp or something dish but nothing was on the menu so I was a bit perplexed...thought maybe I would get the sauteed shrimp. Chris said they can make anything I can think up so I said how about fried shimp and Maine lobster tail? He said of course! I had the veggies of the day which were garlic sauteed butternut squash and string beans. For being fried the lobster tail was super light and not greasy at all. The meat was very good and cooked perfectly, not stringy or chewy, just perfect and sweet and wonderful. I had 4 large shrimp and gave DH 2 of them. There were awesome! I cannot tell you what a wonderful dinner this was! The string beans were nice and crunchy, just how I like em. The squash was to die for!
Now the entire time we are eating there were 3 older ladies behind us and they were so funny, must have been in their 80's and enjoying seafood and tee many martooni's. When they found out it was my birthday they sang to me and had the entire bar singing to me, lots of people were there by this time. I was as red as a beet!
Chris brought over this special treat. It is not on the menu and is reserved for special occasions. A very light chocolate cake with a raspberry compote filling, dark chocolate raspberry ganache and raspberry coulis on the side, fresh whipped cream on the top. OMIGOD I was in heaven! It was so light and wonderful and not as rich as you would think.
We had a fabulous time, watched the sun set, had DH thank me AGAIN for finding us such wonderful places to eat! It was great! I highly recommend Fultons, if you love seafood you will love this place! Did alot of shopping around and such...next up is a TON of pics of Goofy Candy Shop.
