How To Lose Waldo in 10 days-The Trilogy~NEW 10/26 - Final Thoughts; Adios Amigos!

So we loaded up our log and as we’re headed up the first little hill, I’m talking to Evan and water splashes up and lands right in my MOUTH!!! Ewwwww!!!! I completely freak out! :crazy2: Can you imagine WTH is in that water??? I still get grossed out when I think about it. I’m really trying to hold it together because I want Evan to enjoy the ride, and it’s killing me to know that I have a toothbrush and Scope within arms reach, but I can’t exactly pull that stuff out and get to work.

This happened to me as well but I wasn't prepared with my Scope!

NOMorrisDay
I love Morris Day! :cool1:

You see, Andy & I had been discussing DVC all week and decided that DVC was a great idea for us and we decided to sign up that afternoon.
Trumpets playing!

They’re almost $6 and they fold into a little tiny pouch.

Wow. I'm crunchy, but not that crunchy.

we leave the pin store, we spy Waldo standing infront of the Margarita bar.
I hope you let him complete his purchase. :goodvibes

Perfect because I had planned breakfast for us @ Kona Café and then some park time.
Sounds like a perfect last day.:thumbsup2

I hadn’t noticed a lot of funky smells this trip. With the exception of:
A- Someone smoking an herbal substance in our hotel.
:rotfl2: I think I smelled that one, too!

And no, it wasn't me.

So we loaded up our log and as we’re headed up the first little hill, I’m talking to Evan and water splashes up and lands right in my MOUTH!!!
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I'm sorry T, I know it's not nice to laugh, but really - only you! ;)

So it was decided we’d spend our last full day in WDW at the pool. :beach:
:thumbsup2 Best way to do it!

We went back to our room, got ready and headed down to the DVC office at SSR. Our guide, Larry was not in that day, so another guide helped us. We walked out of there proud members of AKV and a nice set of bonus builders points to use within 12 months at SSR. I was on Cloud9!
That's IT?!?!?!

Where's the sirens wailing? The confetti flying? The creepy dancing guy doing his thing in your honor? Here, let me take care of that...

party::dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: party:

And T?

WELCOME HOME BAYBEE!!!

:yay: on the DVC.
Thanks! I'm so excited!
:woohoo: For DVC, I am green with envy!
If you're anything like me, Lessa - persistance pays off! ;)
Great Update !!:cool1: on the DVC!!
Thanks Rosie. ANd thank you to all my enabling DVC friends. :rolleyes1
::yes:: But, if you're like me, you wouldn't think twice about $30/kid. Why? :confused3
Yup, I never batted an eyelash at any kids purchases. Go figure. :confused3

I'm sorry, why no balloon, dancing banana, woohoo smilies here? :) Congrats, my friend. :goodvibes
I exceeded my smilie limit - but I fixed it up a bit! :thumbsup2
:lmao: OMG, that is too funny! I'm sitting here in the living room with the boys and they looked at me like, " What the heck are you laughing at?" When I told them they started cracking up. I still have this mental picture of you happily floating along with Evan and then SPLASH!!!, mouth full of Disney ride water. That's priceless!:rotfl2:
OMG, it was soooo barfy gross! :scared:

Finally!!! The moment I've been waiting for!!! Ooh, I'm so excited for you! Are you still on cloud 9? So I'm assuming you're using your developer points next August at SSR? Are you also using your AKV points? Details, details!:yay:
I'm using my developer points next August and just a bit of my AKV points as well. Then I'm banking the rest for our big 2010 trip!

:
ETA: Ok, I don't know if you had your ticker up before but for some reason I never noticed it. I just added mine. Notice anything familiar? Look at our travel dates. Ok, I'm officially creeped out!
OMG!! That's so cool! Where are you staying?
:rotfl: the water in the mouth cracks me up! :rotfl:

AND...I may or may not have used my latina temper on people before too. ;)

That snarky CM deserved it.
Oh yes - that CM brought out the GHETTO in me! :sad2:

DVC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :yay: :yay: :yay: Congratulations!

The water in the mouth thing would have totallyyyyy wigged me out too. Ick! Sorry you had to go through that...
Thanks! Can't wait to flash that memeber card somewhere - anywhere. Wonder if Blockbuster would mind?

This happened to me as well but I wasn't prepared with my Scope!
Blech!!!! :scared:

I love Morris Day! :cool1:
Me too! They just recently played Purple Rain on VH1! :woohoo:

I hope you let him complete his purchase. :goodvibes
Nope, no alcohol with antibiotics. :headache:
And no, it wasn't me.
:rolleyes1

I'm sorry T, I know it's not nice to laugh, but really - only you! ;)
That's ok - I'm sure someday I'll look back and laugh. Yeah, I'm just not there yet. :lmao:

That's IT?!?!?!

Where's the sirens wailing? The confetti flying? The creepy dancing guy doing his thing in your honor? Here, let me take care of that...

party::dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: party:
SOrry, it was a rushed installment. I've got to finish this week. But thanks for the back-up dancers!

And T?

WELCOME HOME BAYBEE!!!
Thanks V!

Yes, it was the longest 12 minutes of my life. As soon as it’s over, I run into the bathroom and brush my teeth and rinse with my Scope.

Did people stare at me.

Yup.

Did I care?

Nope.
:rotfl2:
You are hilarious!

Sounds like your day was pretty good. :yay: DVC

I see you did not let Waldo make any of your purchases like he did last year. :rotfl2: So you did not go home with stranger's souvenirs.

Kim

OMG, it was soooo barfy gross! :scared:

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to laugh so hard but it struck me so funny because it's likely something like that would happen to me too.:rotfl:

I'm using my developer points next August and just a bit of my AKV points as well. Then I'm banking the rest for our big 2010 trip!

I'm using all of my points this trip because I'm banking points from 2010 to use in 2011 for my youngest son's grad trip.

OMG!! That's so cool! Where are you staying?!

We're staying at SSR on 8/8-8/15 then 8/15-8/21 we're at AKV. That's so weird that we have such similar travel dates again. When do arrive and where are you staying? What airline? AA flight 244 row 14???;)

You know what "the penny dropped" means in America? :rotfl2:
No  :rotfl2:

[See this funky green moldy crap on the log thingy? Ok, that’s gross. Someone needs to squirt these things with Tilex or something.
We noticed that too but thought it looked like the covering had peeled off rather than mould????

So we loaded up our log and as we’re headed up the first little hill, I’m talking to Evan and water splashes up and lands right in my MOUTH!!! Ewwwww!!!! I completely freak out!
Oh T sorry but that's hilarious :rotfl2:

The line was out the door! I wanted to shake these people and say “PEOPLE!!! You are wasting valuable touring time!!! Get out there! Get your FP’s! Hurry, hurry, hurry!!!” But I didn’t.
I felt like that so many times too :rotfl2:

I replied “Yes, your attitude!” The other life guard gets on her walkie talkie and asks for assistance NOW!
Good for you she should never talk to a guest like that!!!

We walked out of there proud members of AKV and a nice set of bonus builders points to use within 12 months at SSR. I was on Cloud9!
Woooohoooooo :yay:

Andy affectionately refers to DTD as “The Land of the Lost” and here’s why.
Wow :faint: You guys did get lost loads!!!!

DVC!!!! Yeah baby! You are going to love it! I'm sure you already love it! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Hey, we just got back a couple of weeks ago and I wanted to thank you for:
1. Champagne Mojitos (I know they did a number on you and I'm so sorry about that, but they made me feel :cloud9: )

2. The salad at Toluca Turkey Legs. OMG :thumbsup2

3. Lapu Lapus ;)

I made sure to try all of these that I read about in your TRs and can't wait to do them all again

You are hilarious!
Sounds like your day was pretty good. DVC
We did have a pretty good last few days. I think keeping everything non-commando was key this trip. :thumbsup2

Well 5 years from now once I am working as a nurse and if I am still hooked on Disney then I will definitely be buying into DVC. :cutie:
Como say WHAT? IF your still hooked on Disney? Girl, it's in your blood. ;)
I see you did not let Waldo make any of your purchases like he did last year. :rotfl2: So you did not go home with stranger's souvenirs.
Kim
Hi Kim! Thanks for reading. :rotfl2: Nope, no surprises this year when we got home.
We're staying at SSR on 8/8-8/15 then 8/15-8/21 we're at AKV. That's so weird that we have such similar travel dates again. When do arrive and where are you staying? What airline? AA flight 244 row 14???;)
Oops, I think I need to fix my ticker. We're planning on being there for Evan's 5th birthday which is Aug. 1st. We'll be leaving on August 7th or 8th. I'm going to try Delta's redeye next year. It leaves at like 10:30 and arrives at MCO around 6am. Oh, and it's non-stop. :thumbsup2
THANK YOU! :faint:
Me either. :lmao:
We noticed that too but thought it looked like the covering had peeled off rather than mould????
It is peeled off, but underneath is moldy grossness.
Wow :faint: You guys did get lost loads!!!!
It was Waldo's first night out since he'd gotten sick. He had to get it all out as we were leaving the next day! :lmao:

DVC!!!! Yeah baby! You are going to love it! I'm sure you already love it!
I do love it - everytime I log into the DVC member website, I get butterflies in my stomach!
Hey, we just got back a couple of weeks ago and I wanted to thank you for:

Well, they were good going down. Coming up ... not so much. :rolleyes1
2. The salad at Toluca Turkey Legs. OMG :thumbsup2
Wish I could take credit for this one, but Toluca Turkey Legs is somewhere I could never go. Meat + Bone = :scared:

3. Lapu Lapus ;)
Ahhh, yes. The nectar of the Gods. We love our precious, don't we?:cloud9:

August 29th – Day of Departure

In the morning, we called down to have a club car sent over to pick up our luggage and take us over to the Airline check-in. We realized we still had the swim vest Maddie had been using, so I sent Andy over to return it whilst I got us our boarding passes for later. We had 6 people and 6 bags to check, so when they started weighting them, naturally TE’s bag was like 10 pounds over. We had to redistribute the weight and in doing so, broke the zipper on the outside of her bag. Thankfully, they had duct tape so we wrapped up her suitcase all nice and ghetto style. :lmao: I tipped the baggage girl and off we went. When we walked away, I asked Waldo if he tipped the girl. He said no. I looked at him and said, “Honolulu.” TE started laughing and Waldo got mad. You’ve seen that Seinfeld episode, right? :lmao:

Am I the only one that thinks the shower tiles are giving me the finger?:confused3

We met up with Andy over near the pool, only to find out the rental place wasn’t open. So we rented a locker and threw it in there until we got back from breakfast

We caught the bus to the MK over at the Springs stop and then jumped on the Monorail over to the Poly. Ahhh… the Poly. Hello, lover!:lovestruc

I check us in and sent Waldo to sit and Andy and the kids to the gift shop to browse whilst TE and I waited near Kona. Our buzzer went off in 5 minutes, so I scrambled to gather the troops and we headed in to be seated.

wdw8-27027.jpg

Someone's happy to be heading home:
wdw8-27028.jpg

We ordered breakfast and I ordered a YUMMY pot of pressed coffee. That was heaven, that pot of coffee! I tried the Tonga Toast for the first time and it was DE-LISH, but VERY sweet! I could only eat half, but that’s ok, as everyone wanted to try it, so nothing was wasted. We rolled ourselves out of there and decided to end our vacation at Epcot. :wizard:

Let me back up for a minute to explain this picture. I was trippin' on this mans very peculiar eating habits. He cut up all his food into teeny tiny bites and then started eating. I thought it was kinda weird, so I had to document that. :teeth: And yes, my DH actually thought I was taking his picture. :sad2: :lmao:
wdw8-27029.jpg

I spy with my little eye pink CROCS that burned the corneas of my eyes!
wdw8-27030.jpg

With that, we hopped on the monorail and headed into Epcot. We had just enough time to look for my Epcot shirt and ride SE before heading back to SSR to catch out ME bus. The line at SE wrapped around the front of the ride, so I decided to go look for my shirt whilst the others waited in line. I still could not find anything larger than a small, so I settled on another shirt and met up with the others, just as they were entering the ride. Perfect timing.

Our last monorail ride:
wdw8-27025.jpg

This time I sat and enjoyed the ride with my little boy. :sad1: It was feeling a little blue, but I knew we’d be back sooner than I had imagined and that we had years of Disney magic and memories in our future.

We exited the park and were lucky enough to find a SSR bus waiting for us. We rode a very empty bus back to the resort and grabbed our carry-on’s from the bell desk. As we sat and waited for our ME bus to arrive, I sent Janet a text to see where she was. I knew she was flying out of the same airline and I was hoping to see here at the airport. Sadly, she sent back that she was already at the airport. I was bummed I would miss seeing her again.:guilty:

A very sad pair of children:
wdw8-27031.jpg

Our bus arrived and we were soon on our way to the airport. We stopped at the food court for some lunch at McDonalds. Ok, I never thought I say I missed McDonalds, but I did and it was nice to have some good old greasy Mickey D’s!

We headed over to our terminal, it was nice and empty so, we grabbed us some seats and relaxed as we had about an hour before our flight left. It was finally boarding time, and we got ourselves situated. The plane had rows of 3 on one side and rows of 2 on the other side. We were seated on the rows of 2 so we sat Waldo and TE, then me and Maddie, then Andy and Evan. It would be a short flight to Atlanta where we would catch our connecting flight to LAX after a 2 hour layover.

The beginning of the flight was uneventful. Evan decided he wanted to sit with me, so I switched spots with Andy and Evan fell asleep in no time. It was a pretty rough flight. We had a lot of turbulence on approach to Atlanta. I mean A LOT! Evan was asleep by the window and pretty soon, I notice something sliding down the wall of plane near Maddie’s seat. She was getting sick! OMG! I yelled at Andy and he grabbed a bag and she just kept getting sick. Everyone around us was so helpful. People were passing me napkins and wet wipes as I tried to clean the plane and Andy tried to clean up Maddie. Thankfully, she didn’t get herself messed up, only the plane. Ewww.

We finally landed and the flight attendant came over and handed us some towels and a bag to put all the soiled napkins and stuff. We stayed on the plane until everyone was off and people passing us asked if we needed help or if she was okay. Everyone, including the flight attendants were beyond helpful and understanding. As we left the plane, the captain came out and asked Maddie if she was ok and he gave her and Evan AirTran wings. It was so sweet. Yup, I will fly AirTran again.

We got to Atlanta and were directed to our connecting gate. We found a spot to sit and wait, and I sat and held Maddie. She was very tired and upset about the whole ordeal. Andy went and found her some Dramamine for the next leg to LA and then I took her to the bathroom to change her into some warmer clothes.

Whilst in the restroom, we ran into another lady who was on our flight. She stopped us to say hi and to ask if Maddie was feeling better. We thanked her for asking and Maddie told her she was better. Our flight was getting ready to board by the time we got back, and the others were waving their arms at us to hurry up. Seriously, did they think the plane was going to leave us?

Our flight to LA was smooth sailing. We all slept most of the way home and got in to LAX a bit early. As soon as we were cleared by the captain, I called my brother to see where they were. They were still on the freeway, and would meet us at the baggage claim area. We all got off the plane and then Waldo zoomed off. He had no idea what baggage area we were in and it was no use shouting at him, we all know how effective that was. We hoped for the best and headed towards the elevators. We met up with my brother and SIL and our luggage was one of the first off. Waldo’s… um … not so much. We waited and waited and waited. Still, no bags for Waldo. I looked at him and said “Honolulu.” :lmao: Finally his bag showed up, but not before we had a good time teasing him about it.

We all headed to the parking lot, my SIL told us where our car was parked and handed over the keys. We said good-bye and thank you and headed home in Friday night traffic. All the way home we chatted about our vacation, all our new friends, & all our old friends. The kids we so excited to be home, but could not stop talking about what did and what we missed and who we’ll see next time and where we’ll stay next time. It was non-stop chatter, until Andy turned and looked at me and said “DVC, baby!” :woohoo:

Mission accomplished. :teeth:

Poor Maddy!!!

I'm glad you guys had such a wonderful vacation.

And that you'll have many many more years of TRs to write...since you're now DVCers and all! ;)

I think keeping everything non-commando was key this trip. :thumbsup2

That's one of the things I'm looking forward to now that we joined DVC.:goodvibes Glad the slower pace worked out for you.

:thumbsup2

Do mean you're leaving WDW on the 7th or 8th or leaving for your trip?
 I'm pretty sure we're going to end up on AA again, I actually prefer the 8:25 a.m. departure with the exception of having to get up at 4:00 a.m.:crazy2: Besides, after reading about your experience with stinky airplane air, I think I'll try to avoid the red-eye thank you very much!

I'm such a sap - this part actually got me all verklepmt (sp?). Your kids will have lifelong memories of trips to WDW with mom, dad, grandma and grandpa. And now you get to create many more memories and even got Andy to drink the Koolaid!:goodvibes

Can't wait for the final installment and your next PTR.:)

T, I know I've been quiet, but I have been reading along.

I was so sad that I didn't get more time to hang out with you:guilty: Our paths must have crossed so many times.

Sorry it was a rough ride home for Maddie. I've been there, and it's awful.

And DVC!!! At AKV!!!! We were there last week....Your gonna LOVE it:cloud9:
